I have a question, if I may: A loooong time ago some people showed me that the dry amp tone was for rhythm stuff, and the boosted amp tone was for lead stuff; but since your rhythm tone has already got an overdrive, what other trick do you use to boost your signal for leads? Thank you!
@EugeValovirta230V
@EugeValovirta230V Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’m not boosting it; it’s the same sound live. Our FOH takes care of the mixing (making it louder if needed etc.). In the studio it’s different story. Many times I use other amp / cab / mic for leads than for rhythms etc.

Wonderful tone shaping Masterclass on how to get absolutely realistic world class sounds from Softube Amp Room modelling software on a computer! This video will change the mind of anyone who thinks that is not possible. You obviously have great guitars with excellent pickups providing a very good signal source into Softube. For those of us who might not have such stellar guitars, how close do you think we could get to your results from Softube? That might make an interesting comparison, as it's hard to tell how much tone is coming from the guitar, and how much is coming from the software. Softube is lucky having you to demo their software, and we're lucky to get to see and hear you. Thanks 😎🙏

Hey, super cool. I can get a lot of valuable information here about dialing in guitar equipment. Thanks a lot. Yes the new tape echo is really awesome. Bought it within first minute I got the mail. It's active since than in every session. The thing with compressors, yes you can even out the dynamic range with longer releases but you also push a signal into a certain place and keep it there with longer releases. If now do short attack also, you push the signal more to the back and keep it there as the transient energy won't poke through too much. Short attack and short release will create a movement which places the signal in the back but can move the signal from the back to the foreground in a dynamic way. If you go to higher ratios you can solidify the tone and if you keep the release short it can be awesome for lead sound to become alive and vivid. But really there are endless options with functional compression alone, not to mention all the tonal shaping options from vintage limiters. Sorry for the off topic, it's such a fascinating subject. The Amp Room really is a killer system even in stock version and for that price it's ridiculous. But with all the additional Marshall emulations it's just insane. Keep it up. Cheers

@@EugeValovirta230V yes incredible. Sometimes I just load a preset and can't really believe how great that sounds. I don't know another system which is as good, the only ones in the same ballpark may be the single Amps from Neural DSP. Did you try to put a compressor behind a wet effect too? That can bring out the tail nicely and add additional effects movement. If you further process that signal, maybe with character EQ or use a vintage limiter for that on an AUX effects track, you also get a great separation between original signal and effect. Cheers

@@EugeValovirta230V ok, the Nembrini demo is available for 15 days without restrictions, if you have time to try it great and if you can't try it for some reason I will be equally grateful for taking an interest in answering me. That an emulation is supported by the signature of the emulated hardware no It gives me confidence that it is the most faithful recreation of this one, since in the past it took me surprises with some emulation plugins that are supported and supervised by the original hardware firms and that however and to my surprise they are further from the original in terms of sound than other vst companies that emulated the same hardware without an official license, for example Peavey's Revalver or Amplitube's Mesa Boogie, for example Diezel and Plugin Alliance if they hit the nail on their work together recreating the best and most Diezel's closest sound to the market, however the alliance between Plugin Alliance and Friedman amp recreated a pathetic and bad recreation of the Friedman Be-100 head. Official plugin does not always guarantee the most authentic result. It is strange that these things happen, but it is like that, it is like a lottery where some alliances between companies work and others are pathetic and they disappoint you enormously once compared to the original with the vst, that's why my question given your extensive experience with real Marshall gear. You get some killer sounds out of Amp Room. This video prompted me to but it. Just diving into it but sadly, only 2 of your presets are allowed to import. The others contain add-ons so it prevents the import. Bad move by Softube. Rather than killing the entire preset, they should just deactivate or remove the unpurchased items.

Thanks! Softube didn’t have anything to do with my presets (obviously other than they’re made of using their plugins 😎). The add-ons are all their plugins one needs to buy separately. Great plugins and a strong recommendation since they’re also great for mixing 👌. I think I used three that aren’t included in the ”stock” Amp Room: the extra Marshall cab pack, Empirical Labs comp & a Tube-Tech comp.
