Yeah the solo album was the first commercially relased album where I did everything by myself: wrote the songs, played, recorded, mixed & mastered 😎👌.

...when in SD3's mixer view, if you would like to audition a drum at the same time, you can press cntr + alt and a small window will appear with the currently selected drum from your kit that you can pin anywhere in your mixer view.

I’ve realized how far out of the recording loop I’ve been the last several years. Been playing guitar 40 years, I’m up to speed there, but recording technology has whipped past me and I’m trying to play catch-up. Thanks for shining light on my weak points. I have work to do. Great video🤘🤓

Sounds great! I love SD3's Mixer; you don't have to route a dozen or more tracks within your DAW... if you don't want to ;) American Class A is great for rock guit. Love the FET on the drum bus, but if you have ELI Trak Pak it's just as awesome; great "Distressor" emulation.
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I have all the additional Console packs and they’re all great but I like the SSL the most as the general platform. The FET is indeed great for drums and I’ve used the ELI every now & then on bass tracks and it’s great indeed. I’ve sometimes even used the ELI compressor on my mix bus if I want something quite different than the Waves’ SSL Buss Comp 😎👌.

Thanks for the suggestion. I use / play always a real bass so I son’t have any experience of virtual bass ”programs” but maybe I take a look someday 😎.

Can you tell me where I can see the settings for your library?
@picksalot13 жыл бұрын
As always, very interesting and useful information. Do you know if there are any Drum Programs/features that analyze the other parts in a recording and attempt to "customize" the drum part/beats so it matches the "actual song" it is being used on? I used to play drums, and I there were hundreds of nuances and changes I made per minute that were specific to the particular song I was playing on. These included changes in tempo, swing, volume, position strikes, accents, feel, grove, etc. that would be horrendously time consuming to program. But, if there were some sort of software feature that analyzed the rest of the music, I think a far more natural/real sounding could be achieved rather quickly. What do you think? Thanks
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah Apple’s Logic Pro DAW has that kind of virtual drummer with different ”drummers” who play / analyze the parts based on their drumming style; there’s for example a metal, rock, punk & pop drummers. But you can emulate that in SD3 well too by choosing how it plays a certain beat, fill etc. I realised that I forgot to show that on the video.
@picksalot13 жыл бұрын

Hey man can you go over your mix on this song - guitar tracks and panning?
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Sure: two rhythm guitar tracks panned hard Left & Right. Lead guitar center with stereo delay (left & right sides with different delay times) & pitch shift to widen it a bit more and melody guitars panned about 60- 70% left & 60- 70% right with a bit of basic delay and that’s it 😎👌.
