My Star Wars Armada Collection 2017

I got into the Hot Wheels Star Wars Starships a couple years ago and am having fun with that, especially since I scored a Razor Crest at Kohl’s this morning! I’ve thought about buying the Armada games, simply for the ships as the detail is incredible, but have yet to pull the trigger... enjoying the couple videos I’ve seen. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for kind words Matt. Nice the Razor Crest is awesome!! The Armada ships are amazing, but they can be very fragile depending on the model. I love the armada ships pretty sure I reviewed all of them except the two campaign expansions.

I love the models, but not a fan of the scale, the Mon Calamari cruisers should be significantly larger and by converse the GR-75 should be a lot smaller

I agree about the scale issue. I wish we did have to scale ships at some point, it would be interesting. I found out that most of the x-wing ships are to scale 1:270 or somthing so I was buying them for next year to review. thanks for the comment, and for watching!

there not suppose to be in scale. They are their own scale as there is different ship sizes in game that relate to upgrade cards. small, medium, large and now huge.

I know I want to play but like I said I have to find a local group since none of my friends or family will play it with me. I know it sounds crazy but I love the ships, and for Armada too! You actruly got me into Armada ships with your reviews.

I'm going to have the same problem in Japan aside from one person living nearby that is a fellow Star Wars nut. How difficult would it be to use a numbered hexagonal sheet (like the one used in Star Fleet Battles) for transoceanic competitions? Both players would presumably need have matching ship sets at a bare minimum.

Roger Wilco Good question, I have never played The battles game before. But to set up a game board and play shouldnt be an issue. With covid tons of people use zoom and cam apps to do a one on one or group chat. Setting it up for a game would be easy as hell

I love seeing the relative scale of the ships compared to one another. I recently purchased just about everything on both factions as I have the same problem--no one around me has the game (or can afford it). I'm currently in Japan. My shipping costs were 1/3 the cost of the game and the corresponding expansions. Hopefully FFG will start making Rebel/Imperial Fighter Squadrons Expansion 1 again.

Ever since A-wings and Y-wings won world championships for consecutive years it's little wonder they'd be very popular (and out of stock). Japan is the very clean country I thought it would be. Trains are on-time, and there are 3 year olds running errands solo to the nearby 7-11 for mom. So the country as a whole is a friendly neighborhood it would seem. There's going to be a push to have immigration make up for the declining population. Housing is exceptionally cheap. Looking forward to more Japan. I'm actually watching the 2016 Armada world championship now. Cheers!

I went completely nuts... The scale is not perfect but then again you would have a hard time playing or using squadrons or Flotillas.. or even the corvette for that matter. I think on my Imperial side I have now accumulated. 3 ISD Destroyers including (Chimaera). 3 Victory ISD, 2 Gladiator, 2 Carriers, 1 Interdictor, 4 Arquitians, 3 Imperial Raiders, 2 Gazanit Flotilla's. Plus 4 Fighter packs and 3 Imperial sqdr Pack II... plus the x6 Tie Fighters. Rebels.... I have 2 MC80 (Pickels), 1 MC80 Liberty, 1 MC 75 Profundity, 2 MC30, 3 Nebulan B, 4 CR90, 1 Assault Frigate II, 2 Phoenix, 2 Hammerhead, 2 Transport GR75's, x2 Rebel Squadron, and x2 Rebel Squadron Pack II plus another x4 Xwing . Not to mention all the miscellaneous stuff. Its addicting but the ships are soo cool. Unfortunately not many people play in my area... or rarely.

Wow that is a massive collection my friend! I myself at this point have only about pne of everything only missing the Chimaera. Im inthe same boat as you no buddy to play with haha. They truly are great pieces, and for highly detailed ships nobuddy made yet for the most part, they are totally worth it. I have dabled with the game and its fun. I too dont have people to play with just one we share my ships haha. Dude X-wing is great too, def have a hunch of ships to review soon.

The Points of Articulation that's totally how I started. I found the transport ships first. I didn't know they were part of a game, I first thought they were like the old micro machine toys... 😁 I just thought they were really cool and have great detail. After I found out more about them I started collecting them. I've heard of the x-wing game. I haven't got any of them yet. I was thinking about star wars legion, but same problem I don't have anyone to play with...

Since this video I have the whole set. I am happy they are making the new isd, but I would have liked if the model was different star destroyer (like the one from Rogue One, or looked like the ones in rebels). Its all good tho I’ll pick it up haha. What do you think? Btw thanks for watching!

Hi Greg, well if you like the model go for it. Game wise its ok it acts as a light carrier. If its good is up to how you play , and what you upgrade it with. I did a seperate review of the ship.

Well from what I know from listening to people X-wingis more fast and easy to play. Armada Is more time consuming with fighters, and advanced planning of fleet actions, and stuff. But i guess its all about who you play with and what you use. Both games seem really fun, and i like how each one you can set up missions or goals and use your imagination. I am not going to lie i havnt played yet, but i read the directions well enough.

Honestly Richard I never really added the total price up. I only have one of each ship, some people have several of each. Armada ships aren't hard to come by at all they are just a little pricey.
