How did you even get those? I only have digital copies of the dvds I ripped like 20 years ago. Really only watchable on a tablet or my phone.

I last watched the Definitive Collection trilogy the 1995 Japanese release, and Phantom Menace Japanese release. I mean to replace my scratched and unplayable Prequel DVD discs I loaned out. Though I do have the 4K, and the 2011 blu-ray set. It's always been a New Hope in the roll up since 1981 Though the box art original just said Star Wars and us kids called it Star Wars, crazy right. The theatrical has never been on home video ever, even the 2006 DVD is facsimile with the 1993 audio mix. and the original crawl tacked on and stabilized. The original has absolutely horrific camera shake and looks like it was shot on top a trash can. For real, it started being marketed as a New Hope in 1995 for the one last time reissue. The novels and comics also changed their title from Star Wars, to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Same year.

@80sMadeConsumer it is a cool set and all the poster is is the Boba Fett riding the Lizard creature that's one of the arts for the Bonus Disc but I usually watch my bluray copy of The Holiday Special around this time but this year season depression has been super bad so I just been Binging the Batman the Animated Series bluray set I have while on vacation in flordia before I head back to Kentucky tomorrow so Friday when we do my Christmas with my son I might watch it while he unwraps his presents Friday

Yes I did! The live streams will be the same, but I splurged on a dedicated camera and new light setup for videos. Still dialing in the microphone, thanks for noticing I was hoping for a better viewer experience.

Great collection, we need Disney to release to 1st 3 with the option to watch OG cinema cut . That was the best version, the cgi and addition of cut scenes and voice over changes just ruined what was perfect.

Thank you, I wish it would have never been an issue. I suspect that there is something with that original version like maybe it was part of the divorce or something. It would explain the attitudes towards it and even including them on the original DVDs as a special feature was something odd, because it wasn’t a great version and really small on your tv. I always thought all the changes where so George could maintain the rights to the newest versions and that’s why they exist. People have argued this for a long time now, but none of these people/companies would turn down a way to print money. There has to be something to those original versions more than what is being said.

@@80sMadeConsumer The Special Edition changes were there because George wanted to implement things he wasn't originally able to, either due to technological or budgetary constraints (this is most obvious with the hellish production of the first film; he always said A New Hope was 30% of the film he wanted to make.) As for why they haven't been released: I don't know if I'm recalling this correctly, but I do remember hearing that the Special Edition changes were made to the original negatives, and releasing the original versions would entail a very expensive set of procedures to clean those up.
