Receiving Faceoff 4K, tomorrow, you’d better get going! 10 a month for me.
@80sMadeConsumer2 сағат бұрын
@@garyharper2943 nice Faceoff was a solid 4k, they included the Blu-ray from the same restoration and that is pretty solid too. January was tough not to go overboard. I basically spent my whole budget on Imprint Films between their Boxing Day sale and I dream of Jeannie & Bewitched, all Blu-ray’s but worth it. I have Jackie Brown and both Kill Bills preordered as well. Come February I’ll play catch up haha. If you are on twitter or Instagram you can follow me over there, and easier to share your latest pickups.

When Dollar Tree first started getting Blu-Ray dumps, ERNEST SCARED STUPID was found at some stores. I never found it. I did later find the CAMP/JAIL duo feature at Dollar Tree. Biggest issue is most you list are owned Disney titles, so who knows if they ever get any further releases.
@80sMadeConsumer7 сағат бұрын
The Disney monopoly on media is a huge problem, and I wouldn’t even care if they’d let other people release their titles. To a point the Disney vault made sense, release certain titles so a new generation could experience them. Not now they have plenty of back catalogue stuff that isn’t even on streaming. Wow for a buck? Wild how no one wanted it and now eBay prices are insane. I’m wasn’t the biggest Ernest fan, but Camp, Christmas, jail, and scared stupid were staples growing up.

Dunkirk is an excellent disc with incredible audio and it's ONLY 5.1! Its actually what convinced me that Atmos is not necessary when you have an excellent mix as it as immersive or even more immersive than your average Atmos track.

@80sMadeConsumer14 сағат бұрын

@benpascall429714 сағат бұрын
@ most of the Sony rereleases of steelbooks have a Dolby Vision upgrade (some have other now features). Starship Troopers, Blackhawk Down and Glory are three other examples of steelbook rereleases with a DV layer added over the original release.
@80sMadeConsumer13 сағат бұрын
@benpascall4297 Thanks thats all good to know, I wonder why its only on Steelbook rereleases? I have noticed that my standard Sony editions didn't have DV and the same movie imported from Korea and France does.
@benpascall429713 сағат бұрын
@ I think it’s likely because steelbooks are cheap to make and command a slightly better profit margin maybe. Also, it’s something more collectible for people with the existing disc to buy, with the added bonus of DV as an added incentive.

I know Pacific Rim is an upscale but I'd always rate that reference and seems most the internet lists agree ?. As someone said Nolan never uses Atmos and I don't even think DTS-X. I like Inception and Tenet as films but not reference. IMHO Dunkirk was OK but not mad on it. But what I would add Is Apocalypse now, Blade Runner 2049, Pacific Rim,, The anniversary release of Glory with Atmos.MI Fallout, The Fugitive , The second sight remaster of Drive with Atmos and IMHO the best looking film with great sound " Civil War "... Probably throw in ready player one and picture wise The Shining.. ✌️👍
