What can I say... My brother hung himself in june 2022... It hit me like a fucking truck. Also, in my country someone from the closest family has to confirm the body. So I have this image seared into my brain of my brother laying in black bag. Shit went south so fast after that but it's been a year now and I had to move on. What I want to say is that we have to move forward Mike, no matter what. Even if our job and personal tragedies put a shitton of pressure on us... And to everyone reading this - please, don't be afraid to reach for professional help. It helped me to, well, stay alive.

Hi Mike, during covid my partner lost his job. We made a property purchase just before..I developed depression. He got a job in another country.. I got bladder cancer and had everything removed spent 2 moths out of action..It was dark 2022 was SIHT! Has been a year and all the checkups have been good. It gets better you have to work at it and talk! Could not agree more with the listen and help instead of going to a funeral.

I don’t usually comment on videos but wanted to express my condolences for the loss of your friend and thank you for your message. The loss does does get easier to deal with over time. Depression is horrible but there is always hope even when it seems like things will never get better. Don’t put off getting help until another day if you feel like hurting yourself. That is not a “solution” and only leads to more hurt and pain. Those who care about you and would gladly do anything to help you through the rough patches, even when you don’t think you’re worthy of their help, their love and their attention. Mike, so sorry for your loss. My daughter’s best friend killed herself about 10 years ago. Our daughter went through a rough time for many years, she’s doing better now, but it takes a long time to recover from dramatic loss like that. The best thing to do is talk to someone about it. I can tell that your demeanor is different from the Mike that we used to see in these videos. I know you have been through a lot in the past months and I just know, like you said, that we are also always here for you if you need anything. Speaking for myself, your videos have been a world of knowledge for me and enabled me to continue growing as a network engineer and has even assisted me with starting my own side business in that same field. Never forget that we are here for you, you have helped many of us in different topics of Networking and Security and I am sure there are others here that have used your videos as step-by-step tutorials on how to do something that we struggled with at one point in time. Without going too far into detail, I know what it is like to lose somebody that you should have had decades of time left with. If you ever need to talk please reach out to one of us or somebody that you are close with. Mike, I’m sorry for the loss of your best friend. While I am sure it is tough to record and post this video, only through shining a light on depression/mental illness can we eliminate the stigma surrounding them. Far too often, especially with men, depression is portrayed as a sign of weakness that should not be acknowledged or discussed. Mental illness is just as real and painful as a physical injury and should be regarded as such. This video is another step in achieving that goal. Hope you have a better 2024.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend. I also lost a friend unexpectedly in August who was only 41. Keep pushing forward. A lot of us look forward to your videos. Although things won’t be the same, they can still be good, or even great. I too suffer from depression, but have finally been properly diagnosed and on the right medication for me. It has made a tremendous difference. I also encourage people who have thoughts of suicide to please reach out for help. Your life affects so many others, and it’s never as bad as you think. ❤ I’ve actually been in bed the past two days with Covid, but it’s already getting better. A positive mindset is one of the most powerful tools.

Mike I watched this I believe within the first hour of you posting it... I could not put to words a response at the time and just said nothing. I was just thinking about it again from your most recent video and came back to watch this again. It's just hit me that my original reaction is likely a big part of the problem for everyone... I am guessing especially for men but I'm sure for women too... I see someone I care about in pain and in turn that makes me feel pain / empathy but I feel like I'd make it worse than better so i say nothing. i'm glad i came back just now to watch this again b/c i will never forget that NOT saying something, even when it's hard... can be a big part of the problem and maybe it will make a difference but certainly can't make it worse. i don't know you and of course i don't know the friend you lost but I can empathize how i would feel if my best friend took his life and it hits me hard just imagining it i'll remember this video and your friend anytime i feel like this and or if i ever get a hint of someone close to me having feelings like this and i WILL speak up... so thank you for that and as I should have said the first time I saw this, I am very sorry for your loss

Hi Bro, I am really to sorry to know about the experience you had to go through. But don't feel broken, you still have a long way to go. I am really sad to see you in such condition but I am confident you will overcome this situation and will see you again delivering those amazing contents. Be careful with the auto-immune condition, stay away from oils they are biggest causes of this. Yes my year has been terrible with finding out I had gout and don't know why at late 30s. Be careful with drugs like Humira for auto-immune conditions it almost killed me with getting a fish disease. My life is really bad right now but suicide is not an option for me because fear of a bad afterlife even though the pain would stop. I'll battle the pain and the gout, and I hope you do too. Stay strong friend!
