This is mind boggling! No due diligence, and the expensive car is freely handed over with no concealed tracking device or even an air tag installed... Shipping with an established, proven, reputable shipper isn't expensive, its good value for the absolute peace of mind and professionalism!
@todddoster6487
@todddoster6487 5 күн бұрын
Problem with this as I have run into for boat transport is you pay the legit shipper high dollars and they sub it out to an independent for far less and pocket the rest. Happened more than once to us with a National Transport paid big bucks for, met the driver who assured me he would be the one taking the boat. On the other end find a great driver, but one who got screwed since he was paid 1/4 of what I paid the reputable company for. When called on it, they said it is within any trucking companies right to use whoever they want even if you paid a premium to be assured you are going with the best. Now we add to the contract that the job is not to be subbed out or the contract becomes void. Most will not sign that contract...

Yeah, if i had one of these cars i would certainly not rely only on the onboard one, i would have atleast a couple additional trackers installed in hard to find places. Yes, at some point the trackers would be found, but even if it only gave me a couple of days i would still be able top track it. Just bought a tracker for my sons scooter and it's only a $2000 one, wired it into the harness, has a backup battery and disguised inside another electronic module that had room for it. Sends a ping every hour with location, if someone takes it, its highly unlikely they will find the tracker before i knock on their door.

This happened to me six months ago, but I was able to catch the bill of lading address and phone number. I called the transport company that picked up my car, and they asked for my proof of insurance, registration, and any belongings that may be in the car. I described it to a T, and they immediately re-routed the transport to where the proper location. Same situation. Meanwhile, the scammer tried calling and threatening the transport company and me, almost with the same story, but my guy said he was robbed. Before the transport leaves, always make sure the bill of lading has the correct address and phone number on it otherwise this shit will happen again. Another mistake I made, never go through a third party transport broker website. Always call the transport companies directly, so these scammers never have a chance to pull this off.

*Plot Twist?* Copy and Paste the following on YT: *¡Rolls-Royce de Alfredo Guzmán CHOCA! valuado en 10 millones* The Cillunan belonging to one of "el Chapo's" sons was recently crashed... Not the same wheels or interior BUT! _What a coincidence isn't it?_ BTW 99.9% chance that these guys might be connected to either Sinaloa or Nueva Generacion Cartels (CJNG); it's quite common for drug overlords to mingle with personalities and boxing is one of their favorite sports. *NOW!* If the Chapitos aka Chapiza (meaning "little Chapos": trust fund kids absolutely disliked in Mexico) REALLY like this "singer" they would have GIFTED him the car, it happens quite often. *_And no, in such instances they don't steal cars, they downright buy them CASH._* No need for such risks/exposure when the $$$ flows in abundance. If this is true, that their associates stole the car and the Cartel gets wind of it? Betcha 100% they'll be reprimanded for it (anywhere from mocking/bullying them to some few punches or worse if it's not the first time). Why? Simple risk mgmt. That's the reason those cartels remain so strong, they don't do sh+t that'll attract unneeded attention.

After hearing about all these stolen high end and exotic vehicles I have thought about starting an investigation and recovery business focusing only on high end and exotic vehicles. I own an air freight cargo business with my brother and father. We operate a Lockheed L-100-30 which is the civil certified version of the C-130 Hercules. It would be useful for recovering internationally stolen vehicles where the authorities will not help or when they are interfering.

We both called LAPD that the driver was going to go to the address and for a cop to follow. LAPD told us no, sorry, too busy. @@bmurphy737 I used to own an P&C insurance brokerage. It depends on the company and other factors, but its not that simple. He didn't 'willingly' hand the keys to a friend, whom then stole the car. This would fall under unauthorized use or theft by conversion. What he did was give it to a shipping company, whom then turned the keys over to someone who then stole the car. The insured did not turn the keys over himself. This distinction is what makes the difference from theft VS theft by conversion. As long as the insured didn't give the keys to the thief himself, its not theft by conversion. The negligence falls on the shipping company, however, the insured could still argue its a valid comp claim because the car was stolen, and given the description it would fall under theft (which is covered by a comp claim). It would likely need to be fought in court because the insurance company would likely argue its still theft by conversion or find other arguments, but the insured would likely win IMO, and the insurance would have to pay.

With a police report, long as it’s listed as stolen.. the insurance company will pay out. If it’s wholly owned.. it’ll be paid out at market value, if financed then hopefully there’s some type of GAP insurance to cover the difference in market value - outstanding loan balance = GAP payout.

 @Vilaun. No, they won't pay out. They don't pay out if you willingly hand the car over to someone who then scams you. That is the issue with all of this tech and phone communication. No one can handle the car now, especially since Mexican authorities won’t care one bit, especially that a famous person owns it. I’m far from a luxury car owner so can someone explain this to me. Why does this happen to so many dudes when they could just call their local RR dealership, explain they need the car shipped cross country, and then let the dealership take care of the logistics?

The dealer ship he mentions "alvarez Exotics" is in zapopan, Jal. Which is the same exact town my family's from. Trust me if there's a Exotic/luxary car there its a drug lord/Narco. We have shootings once a week.

The moment he find out the car was not being delivered, that same moment, report it stolen to the police, call in your insurance and have them sort it out who on the chain of events is responsible. CD is responsible, the trucker is responsible, the subcontractors are responsible, anyone but you. Playing police with sketchy people shouldn’t be on your list of priorities. Thanks for sharing, there is a lot to learn here for the exotic dealers in the market. Buy/sell from reputable people, use established transport companies to move your stuff around, or just fly and drive it back yourself.

@ maybe I am missing something in this type of exotic cars business.. when you buy a car this type, you either cash it, or finance it. And no serious finance company will let you get possession of this car without an insurance. And if you have enough $ to buy this car cash and not put insurance on it… well, I don’t know what to say about it. Nevertheless either CD must have an insurance or the sub-transport must have insurance. And when shipping a car or any merch over 5 figures, the shipper must insure your merch against “all perils” . Some ins will claim not fault or victims of a scam, but this is not a scam this is THEFT and someone’s insurance must pay for it. OR SUE.. which I will be doing already instead of playing police with sketchy people and dancing in the gray zone and exposing yourself with libel when you don’t have all the details but imply a celebrity may be part of a crime.

@@Borikwine As I said, no insurance company would pay out for a scam like this. It's not theft in their eyes if you willingly hand it over. For sure you could sue the company you handed it over to, but good luck with getting a result from that.

Im Mexican, live in Mexico and own a couple of Porsches. I’m also a member of the Porsche Mexico club and several of my friends own and drive different exotics here. This seems very off, to start with anyone legitimate buying any sort of exotic in Mexico is highly and I mean highly paranoid. To start with Cars in the us have everything in the standard system and mph, you would be able to tell that the vehicle was not sold from a Mexican dealership for the Mexican market, and since these sorts of exotics cannot be imported from the states. That would be a major and I mean major red flag. Second, there’s operatives all over Mexico now with Fiscalia ( the attorney generals offices) pulling you over and checking your vins all over Mexico where they do plug in the devices to computer and match everything(happened to me on 2 occasions while driving across Mexico on my 911) Exotics attract too much attention. Unless it’s actually driven by a known criminal organization that uses these vehicles for their ends, I find this story highly unlikely. You’re far more likely to have a Tacoma 4x4 stolen and brought to Mexico than a rolls. But then again you never know.
