Rickey is the shit. He took time out to talk to me at a suffocation show. I love his work with Disgorge.

I saw Disgorge in Urbana, Illinois years ago at The Central Illinois Metal Fest. They were the reason we drove 6 hours to see them over that weekend. Randomly my buddy and I were chilling outside the venue to have a break, and all of a sudden Ricky Myers walks up to us and asked us if he can get a ride. We immediately accepted and drove him to his hotel. He had no idea we were basically Fanboys driving a superstar in our eyes at the time. He was a very well-mannered and nice person. One of my favorite memories of all time

It's a crime he didn't do vocals before he's a badass growler.

I completely get what he means by being freaked out doing vox. I have always been a guitarist but would do guest spots for ppl on vocals and it always stressed me out cause I couldn't hide behind my guitar and had to address the crowd. I did a week and a half tour w my old band after I quit, they had problems w their vocalist and since I knew a lot of the music and lyrics (played it on guitar/co wrote stuff) they asked me to do vox for the tour and boy was that an anxiety nightmare. I got drunk af before every show, only way I was able to deal w it.

Curious...been into Suffo since '91, but I was lucky enough to see them with Frank for th last time in Clarksville, TN...late 2015, maybe early 2016 or so...The Warehouse...don't believe it exists anymore....anyhow....they sounded great, but I seem to remember Ricky as a roadie, perhaps? I could be ridiculously wrong...just seem to recall him but not as the vocalist....50, so who knows 😂

Fuck yeah man suffocation has always been on my list of brutal bands since around 1991.... the fact that Ricky stepped in and carried the torch is awesome his vocals are sick and brutal... this guy sounds like a prehistoric raptor that's consuming its prey 😂😂😂🤘🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟☠️☠️☠️☠️😝😝😝😝

okay interview, but I'm not sure why the dude had to ask Ricky like a billion times when he started singing when he answered him from minute 1.
