That airport is so busy! Student new to glass panel?! Gotta teach what and how to scan continuously. As for sighting whether high or low or right on 3* path; for most people, superimpose the threshold on your windshield 1/3 up from the glareshield and 2/3 to the top of windshield. Good teaching Trent. For the student; get good instruction, make yourself do what is needed, as if you are solo!

In the pattern airspeed is your friend…especially on the base & final legs. I agree Trent having your student verbalize what they’re doing. Pitch/power/trim/airspeed/altitude/heading. Good stuff.

I'm not the one to usually go comment on another instructor's techniques, but teaching someone to use rudder to keep the centerline on final is completely wrong

Really? Where in the regs or in the flight textbooks does it say that? And while you’re at it, better head on over to flight insight tell Dan that he is wrong also.
