This is refreshing compared to some similar channels where money is no object. I'm always trying to find that intersection between sustainability, experimentation, frugality, and the belief that I deserve quality things. I would love to have a similar wardrobe and maybe I can.

I really relate to this. My parents always had low paying jobs, I would say we were low middle class. We weren't poor but all my clothes were hand me downs from friends and cousins and that made finding my style so hard in my pre-teens and teens. Just like you I tried to "compensate for lost time" and buy a lot of things that were trendy but not for me when I eventually had a little bit of money. Then comes the luxury phase where you think more money means better. Now I'm more into a minimalist capsule wardrobe and I'm still realising what I like by trial and error but I'm less likely to jump on trends. Love this video!

Thank you for this incredibly relatable look into your style (and your life)! Your story is so relatable. For one, I also felt like I had "catching up to do" when I first had an income to spend. Would love to hear yours and Morgan's story from the beginning and how you two keep the spark alive after getting married at such a young age.

They say personal style is how you express yourself or, barring that, is at least a reflection of oneself. Not sure I've ever seen a video that demonstrates this better. Such a creative way to help your viewers get to know you -- how your life dreams and circumstances have evolved and how that was reflected in your style. I was excited for this video and then completely blown away by what we got. Annie is on fire with her content rn.

Yet another completely relatable video. Our journeys were so similar growing up wearing hand me downs and harry potter glasses. I also remember thinking i made so much money at my first big girl job, and purchasing my first designer bag -- Prada was my pick (and I still have it) 😅 With so many expenses that come with adulthood, I now understand how hard it is to make money living in a country/city where taxes and living expenses are so high.

This video showed up on my “suggested” feed after looking for minimal wardrobes. I loved this video and immediately subscribed. I’m over a decade older than you, I might be a bit older than your normal demographic. But I related to this so much…and also, this quest for style never ends. Preferences change, styles change, bodies change…it’s a never-ending evolution…and when I realized that, I finally had more grace for myself. I’ve never totally gotten it right, which is maddening to me because I’ve always admired women with beautiful style. And I do try. As your video demonstrates, It’s not ALWAYS about price. However, better quality clothes typically DO cost more and that IS cost prohibitive for many. One tip that finally helped me level up was “wear your good clothes all the time. Even just to hang with loved ones. Even to run mundane errands. If not, they will wear out on the hangers/in drawers, lose shape, or you will outgrow them in size or style without ever enjoying them…and that’s a waste.” This was so hard for me because as a child, I wasn’t allowed to wear my favorites or good clothes because what if I ruined them playing? My parents didn’t have money either. I carried that limiting belief well into my 30s. I look forward to binging your content. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Can I just shout out how captivating this vid was to me? My motto: It is not about the status of the shop, is about the quality of the label. I still adore The linen, cotton buttom downs, straight jeans from HM, premium selection cashmeres are divine. &Stories and COS are very premium to me, I adore most of the pieces they release when polyester is out of the label and 100% love everything Made of wool/cotton cardigans I own!

This was amazing! Yep, money and style (especially in snobby environs like many urban workplaces) are inextricable. Kind of infuriating, actually: the pressure on young women who are underpaid and employed below their education/skill level to spend way more money than men on their looks to be deemed respectable at work. Aside from the temporary purse madness, I think you handled it very well!

@@hiannieem Oh thanx for asking! I do not buy fast fashion anymore since many years, I think about 7 years actually. Except a few second hand pieces and super old clothes, that I still like (but they are by far not my most worn pieces!) I recently counted them and I actually own 5 pieces in total that are fast fashion. Instead I look for fair fashion second hand or new or real vintage pieces and just love the good quality and don´t want to go back ;-) I´m a freelancer musician, so my budget is not super high, but since fashion is my passion I like to spend some money and time in it and it really makes me feel a lot better to not purchase fast fashion and beside the ethical reasons I just feel so much more chic and well dressed in my high quality items
