How do you like the Garmin recommendations? I've only used them occasionally.

@@iRunOnBeer recommandations are good, but you must track precisely your sleep / rest time. It's recommended to record the workouts as soon as they are recommended if you don't track (1 week in advance).

Great training plan! I just put mine together last week for a 20 week plan. Cheers!

Awesome! What race are you looking at? I love the early stages of training and getting to see/feel everything come together!

My 1st Marathon event will be 15 Weeks from now. I am searching for various source to do the training plan and yours is the most "delicious" one and it is very specific to marathon. This kind of workout is very new to me (usually i did threshold like 3x10minutes etc) and your plan is very different and as a logical person, i think this plan will work for my Marathon. Very happy to find your video when i need it the most!

I hope it helps! My only recommendation would be to make sure you're comfortable with the high volume training before adding this much speed work. It can certainly be daunting! I opted for Hal Higdon's plans for my first few marathons. I found them to be a bit more approachable as a beginner.

Good luck! I find no plan survives contact with the summer training session. Have you been able to increase your marathon pace during the 18 weeks in the past? I find my pace degrades in the heat and humidity, then all comes together in the fall for racing.

This is a REALLY good point, and something I'll certainly be paying a lot of attention to. In the past, I've run most of my training based on feel as opposed to specific paces. During these early weeks, I've been paying close attention to my RPE at each pace, and I'll likely end up basing my training runs on that scale as opposed to precise pace goals. Similar to you, I've found that even if I'm running by effort, by the time the temps cool down in the fall I well prepared for my goal paces.
