I truly love this community and this fandom, mainly because the writer, created and director of this series is so open and close to his audience, and when you're wondering about stuff most other fandoms will have to literally pray to get answers for, there's the big guy himself, telling you about why production has been slow, and that makes all the delays and the lack of content so much more bearable, knowing that he's trying his best and that he's gonna talk to his fandom about certain situations directly. 9:19 It’s so inspiring to see how much Thomas has grown this year. Refinding self confidence is so difficult and I’m so thankful he decided to share it with us. As another writer, one of the best pieces of advice given to me was “don’t write the work you think everyone wants to read (or in your case watch), write the work you want to read.” I struggled with that a lot in my current novel, which is why it’s taking so long because there’s so much that I only had in there to satisfy my readers or avoid what they won’t like (almost exclusively my family lol). All this to say, I get it and the most important thing about your art is that you enjoy making it. One of my personal success was going to therapy for the first time and just- talking it out with someone else who genuinely cared. One of my failures was- I was not able to keep a job for more than a month, because of the cold water effect- after two years of not working and going into the job, without taking care of my own person first. I was unaware of the changes in the education environment that had occurred during and over the 3 years I had not worked. But I am seeing this as an opportunity to work on myself and make me a better person, so I can go in and teach the littles, while hopefully making them better people.

Edit: asides videos are so amazing, i love them so much, they're so character driven which is enticing because it's what us people LOVE to psychoanalyze. And sometimes we need a break from plot to enjoy the beach episodes you know? I've been through those feelings for my artwork too and it takes a lot to be like hey ok I don't need to internalize all the negatives, I'm also doing this for me because its what I enjoy. I was getting frustrated. I really was afraid we were being strung along because the sides stopped being a priority, but were so popular on the channel that they were teased to keep people on board. i was not expecting to be nearly brought to tears by this video. i have been going through a very similar creative and mental funk for around the exact same time. 'my internal monologue was just a tad bit louder' is EXACTLY what I was feeling throughout 2022. complete funk with no motivation for anything purely because of the mean voices in my brain. i don't publish my content but I've had an issue for years where all the art I made was to service the goal of Getting Good tm at art. When my chorus decided to do a Disney Pride concert as well as my ensemble doing our own solo show at the beginning of the year, meaning I had to prepare 40 songs in 3 months, only to then be asked (within the next 2 months) to choreograph and teach 3 dance routines having never choreographed before, plus work on production team stuff for that show… …there was no way I could just internalize my fear and bulldoze through it. I just had to say multiple times “y’all I’m freaking TF out here, this is so much work, I don’t know how I’m going to do this” out loud to my chorus and cast mates. That enabled me to acknowledge that I WAS doing the work already, take a breath, ask for help (I had two other choreographers working on that show, I just took logistical control for us all to work it out), and continue on. I even admitted in our cast circle before our shows in June that it wasn’t until after dress rehearsal that I felt my body unclench and actually enjoy the work I put in. In one week, my chorus is starting rehearsals for a full Broadway themed show, with a VERY special guest artist that I’m still shocked is working with us, and not gonna lie, the set list alone is a BEHEMOTH. But after this year, I’m looking forward to the challenge, because I know I have the skills and fortitude for it, but also the GRACE to afford myself when I am overwhelmed.

As a writer, writer's block is the absolute worst. All it takes is one little comment or thought to completely throw you off. I barely managed to write anything this year (hopefully I'll do better this coming year, fingers crossed). This year was definitely a difficult year for writing but at least I found a good site for it. And I managed to write a short story I'm proud of. (It was an English project and my teacher also loved it, which made me feel great). Thomas is one of my biggest inspirations. For writing, art, expressing myself, and figuring out who I am (I finally fully accepted my identity, hell I got my first proper pride flag this year!). Picani was so nice to see again. You may have failed in some areas, but you've 100% succeeded in many other areas as well. Dang. I won't lie, this video had me in tears. The urge to give you the biggest, warmest hug imaginable right now is... a lot. You've had your ups and you've had your downs, but you're still here, still kickin, and I think that's absolutely amazing, and I'm very, very proud of you for that. True, my sister made the notice of concern of me that kicked the gears into turning, and I truly do appreciate her for that and definitely owe a lot of this to her too, but had it not been for you, I don't think I would've been able to find the strength and reason to keep going, to keep fighting. You give me hope for the future, Sanders. Seeing you be so unapologetically you gives me hope that one day, I can be as unapologetically me as you are! I see a lot of the same traits in you that I have, and let me tell you, it's so encouraging to see someone, an adult who's a lot like me, thriving, happy and functional. I'm still very, very new to adulthood, given that I'm only turning 21 in March, and I do know that I have my own struggles due to the fact that I'm disabled (autistic, very likely ADHD, still in the diagnosis process for that, and Spatial-Visual Learning Disability), and even though I logically know that yes, my disabilites will play a role in just about everything, I do still often feel inferior to other adults, and like I'm less-than because of my disabilites. I deal with a lot of executive dysfunction, and just going grocery shopping can take me _days_ to be able to do. As much as I take pride in my identity and who I am, disabilites and all, sometimes it's rather hard not to compare myself to others who seem to have everything together when I just simply don't. But then I look at you and remember that, though one must grow up, one does not have to let go of their inner child. I don't think I'll ever, ever let go of that little boy I once was, he will always and forever be a core part of who I am. And I would never have it any other way. But, I suppose now I'm rambling quite the bit. The bottom line is, I love you, I'm so, so proud of you, and I will always and forever be right by your side, no matter what. You've helped me learn to love myself, and for that, I owe you a big one. I love you, Thomas. So much.

Even though my hyperfixation on Sandersides has ended, i still hold the series close to my heart !! This year was definitely a weird year! In the Span of one year, One of my best friends passed away, I found out I was chosen to Sing at Carnegie hall in New York City, I had two seizures, I told my crush i liked him for a second time, AND I managed to write a full on screenplay for a short story i had made in class one day. Can't Wait for 2024!

Hi Thomas! This video- like so many other of your videos- has actually opened my eyes in regards to giving myself some grace, celebrating my successes and learning from my failures. In 2023, in January, I started singing lessons. I was so scared, but I wanted to learn how to sing properly because I was passionate about it. In May, I had my first singing competition, where I sung “Mother Knows Best (Reprise)”. Which landed me joint FIRST PLACE. I took inspiration from Janus and mixed his personality with the character herself, Mother Gothel. I sung and sung whenever I got the chance. Your videos gave me and still give me hope and inspiration. You’re so honest about things and since i began watching the Sander Sides series, I was learning about myself more and more. I learned how to let people go, I learned how to love myself and give myself the breaks I needed. Of course, I’m still TRYING to find myself and love the person I am. But that doesn’t mean I won’t in the future. I was working hard on my schoolwork, trying to write a story, then trying to make videos. I wanted to feel happy with what i was doing. But I couldn’t. I realised that I couldn’t juggle it all on my own. So I reached out to my friends, finished the story, am now currently writing the second book, am doing BETTER in my studies and taking breaks for my videos. In regards to singing, I would always sing the songs from your channel because not only were they amazing, they made me feel like me. “Trying Too Hard” resonated with me more then I thought it would and I found myself singing it all the time. Now, I’m learning how to sing opera, I have much more control over my voice, i can belt, use my vibrato properly and much, much more. I was given the confidence from your videos. Your videos helped me find myself and my confidence. I know now that it’s more than okay to make mistakes. Because mistakes are only temporary. But the lessons I learn from those mistakes can carry me throughout my entire life. So I need to thank you, Thomas. Wether you read this or not, you have made the past few years for me, really, you have. Thank you so much for just - being you. Happy 2024, take it easy on yourself and don’t rush it. It’ll take time to find the groove for the videos again. But you’ll definitely get it.
