Keep in mind that your aeonium kiwi has a different dormancy period compared to the rest of your echeveria. Aeoniums typically go summer dormant. Their growing season is when the weather gets cooler. Most aeoniums, including the kiwi, are also monocarpic. Meaning they’ll die when they flower. So when your kiwi flowers, you can chop off the rosettes that have flowered. The rest of the plant will survive and produce more offshoots. Try to give your succulents as intense light as possible & more time between watering (water HEAVILY each time) to “stress” them out. This makes their colors more vibrant and pop out more. Great channel! My plant journey started off with outdoor succulents and now I’m transitioning into indoor plants. Your channel’s been full of useful info! 🤙🏽

the Aeonium and a lot of sedum like a little bit of cooler and damper weather. I believe the kiwi aeonium is summer dormant but will turn beautiful colors during summer to protect itself from the harsh sun. They also prefer very rocky and sandy soil. The soil for some of your succulents appear to be a bit black so they are probably too compact, wet, and "organic" for succulents.

They certainly do like light. I have my collection of around 200 in a greenhouse. They get watered once a week with rainwater from the bottom. Water is tipped into each plant's saucer and any remaining after a few hours is tipped away into a bucket to be used on other plants. Water is never wasted.

They can take quite a bit of sun (may need a slow adaptation to not get a sunburn); check for water needs every few days until you get used to them. I live in the desert and have some that get East sun ~5 hours; a few that get ~1 1/2 hours early afternoon, West sun: They are doing well. My jade goes outside on the east side when nights stay 55* and stay out until winter, unless it gets scorching hot. Just playing with how long my desert roses can stay outside; I previously kept them inside.

Proporgation is important if you really like the plant or the plant's 🪴 The region or climate.🌵that's the watering part. Area circulation is important.🪴 Tiny gardening especially in the urban areas. Small container growing spaces.🪴 And yes the more light they change color. Very nice. 👍

I love succulents but do not have the light requirement they need so I’ve vowed never to buy them again HOWEVER .... every spring they are the first plants to come out and I can’t seem to resist the draw and end up buying a few. I love your collection! That first one you showed is a stunner. What do you do if for whatever reason the top portion separates from the stem? Can the stem be cut and placed in soil? I had a gorgeous one that looked exactly like a purple rose and one day it just tipped over and separated from the stem. I didn’t know what to do. I was hoping you would show us what you do when the succulent gets leggy and you have to chop the top off. I’m curious as to what you then do with the top.
