I don't want you to burn out!! Hence I am going to (SCARE) tell you to have my life is today and what symptoms I still have, 1,5 years after crashing into the burnout wall. I thought I was invincible, but I got proven wrong.
This is the first video out of a three-part series, where I'll share my burnout story.
If you know someone that's perhaps pushing it a bit hard, please do him or her the favor of sharing this video.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: DO YOU THINK YOU COULD EVER BURN OUT?

Nice to see you're posting videos again. I think I'm following your path of pushing too much. It seems the crash is incoming for me. Yes, resting is important. But a important thing is how to rest and how much is necessary? Because even when I take a rest day, my mind never shut up, like "I should be doing more, I should be being productive, time is running out". Any advice about this would be appreciated. Take care!

Thanks for your never-ending support Armando! That's no fun to hear my friend, adjust while there's still time! And I know exactly what you mean.. That's what's SO SO SO hard to now. Self-awareness and getting to know yourself is key, really tuning in to your body, but you kind of have to overstep to know what's enough and not. But also, sometimes what's enough rest one day won't do shit for you another day. My takeaway is to not push yourself so hard that the buffer you have to play around with doesn't cover it. In other words, rest more than you think you need. At least when you feel you're on the verge of falling over. But damn it, I know that's hard.. But again, you don't want to fall over that cliff. Then it also comes down to finding "your" activity that works the best to calm that spinning mind. Going on Hot Yin Yoga sessions and practicing mindfulness has worked the best for me, along with accepting that whatever there is that I'm dwelling upon, isn't more important than my health.. But this ain't easy Armando, let me tell you that. Hope you can find some balance!!

@@alexanderSnilsson I hear you man. Perhaps it's like going to the gym. Resting is NECESSARY for muscle growth. If you are exercising too much, you're literally harming and damaging your body. Perhaps we could bring this same principles to the mind as well.

@@armandoalcb Exactly. That's the mindset I've been taught after going to "Stress school" . A 3 month, 2 times a week, social gathering last spring for epic fails like me :D. Joke aside, very helpful, yet it doesn't mean I always live by that rule.. SO HARD! BUT, with awareness and not being so ignorant to the cost of ignorance, we can do it my friend!:)

You've been through a lot. I also reached a breaking point to where I'm temporarily on medication. I needed something extra to take the edge off while I work to turn things around. It's important to find the balance between being productive but not overdoing it and being able to stay calm and relaxed.

Hey man. Thanks for sharing. I hear you and I feel you. I have family and friends that have found help through medication, and I think it serves a purpose. I for sure too have emotional dips, and have been advised to take medications to combat them, but I have found other tools and ways around it. But that's just me! And I use feelgood-series and tasty food as a medication - allowing more of it :D. For god or worse. Balance is key, for sure, but sometimes it's just not there, and we shouldn't judge ourselves too hard for not always living perfectly. It's part of life. As long as we can feel the trend going in the right direction, otherwise change for the better is needed! But also, just knowing we are not alone in the struggle helps. At least you sharing right now helps me to see that I'm not special in any way, again, it's part of life! Perhaps rambling a bit here, key take away - appreciate your support and wish the best for you moving forward! TOWARDS A GREAT LIFE :D

@@alexanderSnilsson Thanks. I truly believe everything happens for a reason even if we don't always know why right away. While I continue to take meds for the time being, I'm staying consistent with meditation and back to training in brazilian jiu-jitsu and am close to the next rank. I'm finishing reading Dale Carnegie's book "how to win friends and influence people" and the improv school closest to me is going to start having classes again soon that I plan on joining. I also plan on signing up for dancing classes such as tango. I've heard that dancing classes can help with social anxiety and greatly improve confidence and communication with the opposite sex. All the best to you as well moving forward to a great life. Look forward to your next video. Have a great day.

Thank you, my friend! Well if my struggles can benefit others, then I can make it serve a bigger purpose, which helps mentally! If you don't mind me asking, what happened and what's life like now?

@@alexanderSnilsson life is very difficult tbh. I dont know where to begin. I had mono (I think you call it glandular fever there), when I was 25 and I was never the same. 33 now. Just get worn out very easily. I wasnt taking care of myself last year cuz of pandemic, wfh staying up late. I had bad migraines and got severe anxiety cuz my vision gets screwy. My vision is still kind of weird. Since last July just been lots of anxiety with severe panic attacks when I think in getting a migraine, depression, exhaustion again. It's just crazy. I'm still improving on the basics of sleeping and eating, who thought these simple things could be so difficult. I quit my job in IT because too much stress last year and decided to focus on my music, but that's difficult sitting in front of a computer all day. Things have been lockdown here in canada which just makes it all worse, cant even go to the basketball court.
