What an amazing project. We're forever indebted to GM Fishbein for this great work. Excellent conversation.

This sounds like an excellent book, but I think it's a bit harsh to say that Nimzowitsch's original version has 'diatribes'. Nimzowitsch's comments in relation to his matches with Rubinstein and other great players of the time has great historical value and makes the book much more interesting. There aren't that many of these off-topic comments in the book anyway. Love your podcasts by the way. :-)

Thank you, its interesting in a historical context, but since the book is often recommended to newer players, those players often don't have the requisite knowledge of that context. But its certainly reasonable to disagree on this one.

I’m curious if Tarrasch’s book on chess still has use/validity and is worth reading. I have Alex’s new edition, and am looking forward to reading it. It will be a great lead-in to Watson’s Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy, which is on my list.
