I just bought my first kyosho this Christmas after years of lusting after their catalog. I got an fz02r and a hobbywing combo. Its a great rtr. The radio is waaaay better than any rtr I've ever had before. Now I'm looking at the optima pro or the optima turbo next. Really impressed by kyosho.

The Fazer MK2 is a seriously underrated chassis, and the rally version looks superb! I've got a couple of Fazer mk2's..... 1970 dodge chargers, which I have turned into the general lee! They have gorgeous bodies, are very quick, and take a fair bit of abuse! But beware, they really eat up tyres quickly..... or maybe that's just the way I drive! 😂 I will be featuring these Fazers in part 3 when I cover my road and rally cars so stay tuned! Oh, man, I enjoyed listening to this! Lots of good stories and stuff, and of course just seeing those cool buggies being showcased! I remember that little Nikko buggy! I don't think I had one, I think I had a friend who had 3 of them or something, so I think I drove some of his... Maybe... It's a while ago, he he... Cool with that competition buggy! Of course an amazing bargain, and if any car can smash everything else at the Tesco figure 8 course, it's something like this one! Looking forward to those videos again! Nice video, of course the buggy episode was my favourite, but also looking forward to the next one!

I know that it's all about the buggies for you mate!! 😉 And yeah, those Nikko Turbo Hopper days were a very long time a go for us rc veterans..... how did we suddenly become so old? 😅 But the memories remain strong! Yeah I'm itching to get some more of these cars around the figure of eight track man.... but i need to get the other guys out with me as ideally we need someone to film it etc. Unfortunately they don't seem keen to come out at all, maybe I will be able to persuade them once we get into summer! 🤞 That B6. 2 is shockingly fast, and would probably be untouchable around there..... providing my ageing eyes can keep up with it (and avoid the kerbs!!) 😂 Cheers for watching as always buddy. 😊 👍 👍

Cheers Addam!! 😊 Not a huge collection by any means, but each one is there for a specific reason, I really do try and keep things as streamlined as possible, or you just end up buying everything that comes out! (wish I had the space to be able to do that!) 😅 However, there is another 6 buggies in the build queue..... but I'm in no rush mate! Yeah the RC10 B6. 2 is a shocker, but the deal was too good to turn down..... even if it was just to get all those electronics. But truth be known, the car has really grown on me despite the cab forward design. It's a truly splendid piece of engineering, and is so FAST, and handles so well. Cheers for watching buddy. 😊 👍 👍

Hey great to listen to your RC car stories and some lovely buggies you have there. Don't blame you for getting that Team Associated buggy from your mate at that price. What a bargain! Oh yes the DT-02 is a good little chassis and cheap enough that you don't need to worry about it too much when it takes a beating. That was a sad tale about your Niko Panther going in the river 😢 Does look a bit like they were 'inspired' by the Hornet. Great stuff mate 😁👍👍

As I've said before, I'm more of a Monster truck guy, but buggies can certainly be fun.... and the DT02 is a great example of this, as we all found out last summer in young Peter Smiths speed challenge. A great amount of fun, for very little funds.... great value indeed. Ahhh.... I was waiting for someone to spot the similarities on that Turbo Panther, you were the first. It was released in 1986,and if you look closely you can see it has taken design elements from all the buggies from that time!! The chassis is very hornet/hopper, and the body has influences from the optima, the hornet, the grasshopper, the Fox, and even the Hot shot! Fair play buddy..... I admire your youthful spirit!! I bet it was a great night indeed. 😊 Yep, I raved through the entire nineties .... and dj'd out regularly up until 2006! By 2006 the music had lost its soul, the vibe had gone, and the transition from mixing good old vinyl records to modern digital crap was well and truly in effect. It was time to hang up the old headphones and slipmatts! I still love the music though, especially the 1989 to 2000 stuff! It's weird, as the early nineties rave scene took me away from the rc hobby first time around..... but since leaving the scene ironically I picked the hobby back up! 😂 All the best mate. 😊 👍 👍

Yes the music was good till the early 2000's and my mate who's well into it will tell you that there are still good trance tracks being made. The good thing about these dance anthems nights is that you get everyone from 20 somethings to 60 somethings all having a great time enjoying the music. Also got a 90's night coming up in May at the Academy which is a place I've spent a huge amount of time at over the years. It's great to go to these things while I can still just about cope!

DJ kett!! 😂 (Kett was a nickname that I have always had since primary school!) I used to enjoy mixing many different styles from late eighties acid house, early nineties hardcore, mid nineties jungle, deep and atmospherical/jazzy d/b right through to late nineties trance and uplifting house..... obviously depending on the event/crowd. The club/party scene was very healthy in the nineties, which meant hardly a weekend went by without some kind of event. I used to have regular slots in pubs/bars at Tenterden and Ashford.,private house parties, pirate radio stations, local clubs etc But my favourite events were the illegal all nighters that cropped up all over the place! Fond memories of lugging record boxes across fields to play sets to hundreds of people in marquees, barns, dis used houses, even piers!! 😂 Such a great bunch of wonderful people, all getting on, no violence, happy vibes, great music all raving until the sun came up and beyond! (unless the police broke it up first!) In the early noughties myself and 5 other DJ mates even started to put on events under the name Afterlife productions! One in particular was a summer festival in 2001 on some farmland- It was only supposed to be 3 marquees..... But word got out on the Internet and over the course of the weekend sound rigs/marquees started turning up one after another....thousands of people turned up. For every tent/rig the police shut down another two arrived! We totally lost control as it got so big. It ended up going on 5 days and nights, could be heard from 6 miles away, and made the evening news/front page of the local paper! 😂 Happy days man! 🤪 Your mate is right, there is still some good music getting made.... but it's gone back more underground, and you have to search for it, which is kinda cool in a way. But it's the decade of nineties stuff that will always hold the happy youthful memories and nostalgia for me..... similar to the eighties with the RC hobby. Great to hear that you've still got a night to go to mate, and that you're still going strong! I'm so arthritic now that I struggle to even walk! 😂 👍 👍

Hey Peter, good to see you in the comments my friend. 😊 Cheers for watching part 2 man, a bit of a long one! Trying to keep the channel ticking over for a few months until the others come out of hibernation.... I wasnt expecting the collection videos to get so many views and new subs to be honest! But yeah, the first two episodes have picked us up 75 new subs.... and we have finally hit that 500 mark, which is quite a shock! Got something different scheduled for next week (Mud blaster restoration video) before I go into Part 3 of the collection- The road and rally cars! Yeah dude, will be great to meet up again next month. If we can make it a Sunday late afternoon then there's definitely potential to hit the figure of eight again (they shut early at 6pm on a Sunday, but the flood lights stay on for a few hours) I've got many cars to get out there this year, but will pick a couple to challenge your top spot with this time around.... I definitely want to get that Avante round, and the 'dark horse' - the stunning holiday buggy, that thing drives so well!! It could well end up being just us two, but hopefully Taylor will let me borrow his phone to record it on so we can do a video! 🤞 If all else fails, there's always the playing field car park for a good bash, which is also flood lit. There's also a very cool pump track just opened up a few miles down the road in Ashford, which looks perfect for RC. Unfortunately, motorised vehicles are prohibited.... but I'm sure we would get away with it if it's in the evening when there's no kids there. What's the worst that can happen? If the rozzas turn up it would make for a very entertaining video! 😂 Im not sure if it's flood lit though, so will need to check that out over the next week or so. Plenty of opportunity either way. Don't worry mate, I'm always running behind on everones videos.... there's only a few hours each night where I get a chance to sit down and watch! Quality over quantity was more in reference to the standard/condition of the cars in my collection more than anything mate. I try and have a select few models that have meaning to me, and try to have them presented to the highest standard.... wether it be a cheap lunchbox, or an expensive Avante. Some people have huge but unstructured collections of random messy, poorly finished or highly damaged cars. I try and focus on a quality, well finished streamlined fleet! 😂 Yes, the DT02 was a real shocker.... I knew it would be a fun buggy, as in the huge grin factor that you get from a hopper or lunchbox. What I wasn't expecting was just how good that thing drove, a prime example of simplicity and functionality at its finest. I think it will do well around the track with the current set up, and I'm well used to how it drives now as I have driven it a huge amount. Don't get your hopes up over the other guys, I've struggled to get any signs of enthusiasm for the hobby out of them for at least six months now.... I'm not guna force it if they ain't feeling it. Shame because Taylor does add some great humour and competitive elements to the videos, and always brings the fun factor. It is was it is..... If they don't want to join in then we will just have to crack on ourselves for this instalment of the series. I can film and edit on my phone if it comes to it..... the problem is the quality will be poor as it's a £40 phone! But hey, better getting some action content out than non at all right?! Got a grim week coming up this week, my dad's got a huge tumour and is going in to hospital to have it removed..... we are also likely to find out if the cancer has spread. 😔 Trying to stay positive, but will be glad when this coming week is over. I will make sure I get a couple of cars ready as we get into February mate..... it's all a matter of take each day as it comes at the minute, as we don't know what further treatment he will need as yet, and doing my bit for him and mum have to take priority at the moment. Im sure we can get a Sunday evening sorted though...... as for the weather, looking out the window right now rained off again! It seems that underdogs do best at that track, for whatever reason. Im saving my secret weapon until spring.... but have been wanting to get the Avante and Hola bugs round there for some time. The Avantes GT tuned motor is a wet fart, wondering if the 1060 will be able to handle my 11turn super modified for 8 laps.... Probably pushing my luck there I think! 😂 Sausage rolls sounds good, as does cider!! 🍻 😜 I like anything that's 7% or over!! Of course, Maca D's is just down the road to, we could always go there for food afterwards.... It's open all night. I do have a habbit of nerding out when it comes to vintage rc models! 😂 Shame you left those AA's in your turbo hopper mate..... school boy error! 😉 The highly knowledgeable Mark Bryan of today would never make that mistake! But,i guess very few survived.... after all they were just toys, and we were just kids back then. I guess that's why the few that lived command such a high price now, especially when they come with original box and manual. Yeah, when it comes to buggies I do have an attraction to the higher end stuff, I guess because they were the ones I lusted after back in the day, but could never afford as a youngling. That being said, I will stick by the fact that the lower end kits are always the ones you have the most fun with, the DT02 being a great example of this.....along with the hoppers, cwo1's, ORV's etc. All you guys have always rated the DT02 very highly, and after owning one (purely as a result of Peter's speed challenge) I have to say, I totally agree! Now that's a pretty sweet collection starting with the good old Nikko. That brand was my gateway drug into the hobby as well and still have fond memories of running that buggy up and down the street with the huge square radio and the 6 ft collapsible antenna 😄😂 I don't know if you're joining Reit Place's 1/12 scale speed run challenge this year, but I'm gonna give it a go. Thats why I thought it right to mention them, if it wasn't for them many of us would never have found the hobby in the first place! To be honest I wasn't aware of Reit places 1/12 scale speed challenge, I've got very behind on a lot of the channels over the last month, need to do some binge watching to catch up! Cheers for the heads up though buddy. The problem I have with running this time of year is with the awful UK weather and short days. The other guys refuse to leave the house until at least April! 🙄 That's why I've been putting out mainly solo projects over the last few months. The only 1/12 scale cars I currently own are my vintage Porsche 959's and Celica group B...... renowned for being the weakest Tamiyas ever to be produced!!! 😬 So, will probably have to get a kit in when finances allow. And yes, I love a bit of friendly competition within our RC community..... although the competition between me and Taylor is brutal!! 😂 Need to catch up on your channel to buddy, working 7 days a week, Christmas, working on future videos,family health issues, as well as having two restorations on the go has left me with so little time recently! I think everyones DTO2s took a good pounding last year dude, but wasn't it fun?! 😅 Of course, the beauty of these kind of cars is that spares are cheap and in good supply, meaning they are easy to bring back to a good standard! Our holiday buggy survived the speed runs with just a few scratches, other than a burnt out esc on the last run! (probably pushed my luck with that 11 turn motor on a 60amp esc!) Which is more than can be said for the previous year's tto2 challenge..... I totally destroyed that thing! Turns out that you can't hit a curb head on at 51mph in one of those! Great to hear that you are already planning for this year's challenge matey, I very much enjoyed watching your runs! I do wonder what chassis will be chosen this year...... I hope it's something like a hopper or ORV, now that would be mental! 😅 👍 👍

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC im just rewatching your tt02 run at the min 😂 makes me laugh watching you two argue lol It was a great challenge, a hopper chassis will be good as they are a handful on a lipo with the stock 540 can 😂 Yeh everything is replaceable relatively cheap aswell, i like shelf queens but i much prefer to run them, do a speed challenge or use them for something, not worry if they get thrashed then rebuild them. Least they have a story to go with them then and you have fun in the process. I think a konghead speed challenge would be funny as anything to watch though 😂 were see... thinking of putting a time in this year on your figure of 8 course, ill contact u when the weather gets a bit better 👍🏻😎

He lives next door to me and we compete on everything.... from how many pulls our mowers take to fire up right through to who can do the largest log!! 😂 💩 Our competitive nature's often end up getting us in trouble! As for the whole runner/shelfer thing, I actually fully appreciate both sides of the hobby.... cars are either bought as runners, or as shelf queens! This allows me to run them hard, but at the same time protect the valuable/rare/fragile ones. Kong head speed challenge....? 🤔 What an awesome idea, that would be mental!! 😂 Unfortunately I don't think many people own Kong heads! I would love a hopper one..... they are cheap, everyone owns one, and they are not meant to go fast!! 😂 As for the figure of eight thing, yeah would be great to sort something in the summer..... there's actually a few channels that have shown interest, think I'm going to need a bigger board!! 😂 👍 👍

That story up the woods with the Turbo Panther was with a chap that was actually called Redwynn..... but as kids we always called him Bread bin instead, much to his mother's annoyance! 😂 I think it's nice the memories and nostalgia these cars all hold, and most have a story connected to them in one way or another. I do try and keep my collection as streamlined as possible these days due to cost and lack of space, so each model is bought for a specific reason. I think if I had to choose just one out of those buggies it would be the Turbo Optima, it wins on both looks and performance..... but the TRF Top Force ain't far behind! And, like you say, lots more buggies in the new in box collection still to come..... now, if I only had more spare time!! 😂 Cheers matey. 😊 👍 👍

Very cool collection, I’m looking forward to seeing rally cars, I’m in a rally car phase myself at the moment, but I go back to my Sand Viper all the time, I put some Super Astute front tyres on it and an RZ in the back, it’s bulletproof

Cheers buddy!! I do love a good rally car.... especially the vintage stuff, particularly as I grew up on the marvellous Group B rally days! I must get a more modern rally rc car at some point, something that I can really put through it's paces..... perhaps an XV01 or the kyosho fazer rally? As for the sand viper..... I like your style, and can totally relate to what you say dude! And, totally agree, the superstock motors are the perfect weapon of choice in these sort of cars- Enough torque and top end to have lots of fun, but at the same time bring a nice balance of mechanical empathy, and battery life to the scenario! Very cool getting into it later in life though man, lots to discover for sure. When I was about 10, I got a Nikko Typhoon, broke it and lost interest,the following 20 years I was football mad, then a couple of years ago I was off work and see some build videos on KZbin, got myself a Lunchbox, 2 years and 17 kits later I’m a little obsessed 😂

​@@chaz7287I remember that model of Nikko from my mums catalogue back in the day! 😂 I was obsessed with the hobby from 86 to 93......but then discovered raves, E, and girls! 😅 Didn't even think about rc until 2020 when I picked the hobby back up again. Now nearly 40 cars in, and somehow have a KZbin channel..... I still don't know how that happened to be honest??! It all just started with putting out a few tik toks of me and my mates driving our cars in a car park.... before I knew it a channel grew!! 😅 Got a LOT of love for the lunchbox, a great place to start dude..... and you have accumulated a substantial collection in a very short space of time, fair play sir! 🙏 Be careful..... it's a slippery slope! 😂😅😂

I have an original Hornet yet to be built mate. The Evo looks good, but it's not on my radar as I really like the hoppy, erratic, slappy, bouncy character of the original! 😂 👍 👍

See very with you. I got a kyosho turbo scorpion. I'd only ever built tamiyas, what an experience it was building a kyosho kit. Do want to build another now. Much like your optima the turbo scorpion is the best 2wd buggy I've driven it is a joy. I'm waiting for it to dry and warm up then I'll try it on the tesco figure of 8 especially with the new tarmac.

Well, if you want to build another kyosho I guarantee the Turbo Optima certainly won't disappoint! I've got an optima mid kosworks edition upstairs to build, but it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the Turbo! Oh yeah, it would be great to get you out on the resurfaced track later in the year dude..... we normally only do the time trials in the summer as that car park gets way too slippery in the wet winter! Awesome stories and you said it, quality over quantity 😊 They're all gorgeous 😮🤩 It would have been a relatively bad decision not to jump on that B6.2, even if the body shape is not nice (as many, if not all cab forward are 😢), but very nice paint job. I was too very surprised by the DT02 during the speed challenge ✌ Oh yeah we miss Tamiya "Glenn" Legends 😢 Actually, there's a tiny good side, I buy less cars. Was not interested at all at TRF before I saw his channel... now it became an endless pit 😅 Can't wait to see the next episode, especially another glimpse of the 959 / Celica and other touring /rally cars 💪 Take care 😎🤝

Awesome comment Gabriel! You can obviously relate buddy! Yeah, I've made a focused effort to streamline my collection as much as possible due to cost, and space. Just focus on what models really mean something to me. Yeah man, I couldn't say no to that Team associated..... the £100 was worth it just for the motor, batteries, and servo alone(which we later used in fils 2003 tto2 speed challenge) I actually felt as if I was robbing him to be honest! But, i really wasn't expecting just how much the car grew on me once I had completed building it..... despite the cab forward design! Glad to hear that you share my views on this one, as I think many of us rc veterans do! 😂 But, that paint job is insane, way better than I could ever do! I did hear that a vintage Schumacher cougar body will fit this chassis.... something I will try at some point. Yeah, the DT02 chassis is definitely a shocker..... something so basic and plasticy should never drive as well as it does, especially at speeds of 40mph!!!😂 Yep, do hope Glenn finds his mojo again at some stage, although I do agree-- him and Gavin are a real bad influence on us all, but at the same time truly inspiring. Oh dear..... you've got the TRF bug eh? 😅 Good luck with the bank balance my friend...... I'm staying well away from that one, solely for cost! (they are beautiful cars though, that most tamiya haters aren't even aware of!) And part 3 should be coming out in February mate..... and trust me, there's guna be a lot of 959 waffle!! The 'shelfer' 959 restoration took levels of stupid to a whole new level. I became obsessed with building the perfect 959,sourcing new parts from all over the world in my quest to build a mint example! The costs spiraled well and truly out of control...... and i didn't learn, once completed I decided to do the same with a celica grb!! 😂 By that point I had enough spare 'used' parts left over to build a third car from scratch - my runner 959! 🤷‍♂️ 😮 🙄 More about that in part three! Don't worry man, you're not alone! I got confused last night to- answering emails, comments, WhatsApp messages all at the same time after a few tipples! 🍻 😜 The Top Forces main attraction is just how well it drives, I used to hate the body, but from the side, rear, and above i love it..... I still hate it front on though. The white/blue shell really complements the blue bling on the chassis..... and looks way better than the box art green. As for the whole egress/Avante thing..... I do believe the Egress drives better, but the attraction of the Avante for me is more aesthetics, and just how quirky the (over) engineering is..... there's really nothing quite like it! Anyway dude, cheers for popping back and commenting! You will get to see my re done General Lee in part three, where I have addressed many of the cosmetic inaccuracies that you rightly pointed out in one of our older videos..... it's still not perfect, but it now looks a lot more like a 68/69 rather than a 70!
