What baffles me is why we need charities to help our wounded soldiers. A politician who becomes prime minister is entitled to get over 100k a year to run their office yet the guys that serve the wars these scum in politics cause get Diddley squat. Time to change that and give those injured like this, a lifetime wage. I don’t like saying thank you for serving because I believe the wars we have been in over the last few decades are pointless and did nothing to protect our country. What I will say is thank you for being the person you are and showing us that no matter what happens to you in life, you can get through it and have a successful life.

I was in Iraq two times. (OIF and OIR). I worked in medical and while we would get IDF (usually rockets) my primary memory is all the young soldiers who had been wounded. That is what my nightmares are. The screaming in pain. The blood. The smells. I dream about it all the time. And the guilt over not doing more.
