I could be talking out of my ass but I don't think Vex makes a very good assassin. Unless her fear is up she doesn't have a way out which in my opinion any good assassin champ needs. Maybe try her with a Rylai's purchase for the slow and health. I also think that Malignance second or third wouldn't be bad just because most of her best damage is locked behind her ultimate. An archangels is definitely a must-have I think. survivability and mana two things I feel like she desperately needs. Just some thoughts though obviously you're the Challenger so you do you.

She’s not an assassin in a literal sense. She’s a burst mage that plays at close range to kill targets but spends the other half of the time playing artillery and utility

I'm so upset to see that even in challenger people do things like this. One guy from the enemy team gets caught with Baron up. Now it's 4v5 your team could use this to their advantage taking control back from the map by pushing lanes and warding Baron area or preparing to fight drake soul. Instead 3 people get caught for no reason and die, loosing tempo, Baron and soul. You are good, but I'm not that good to carry these kinds of mistakes that happen all the time in lower ELO.
