I am in Tucson, AZ in Zone 9B. We are practically neighbors! I'm getting some of these from a local grower in town in about an hour! I'm so excited.

I'll try to grow it in Toronto outdoor in the summer and indoor in the winter. Very exited to try out this new plant!

I grew mine from cuttings 2 years ago here in Sydney. It's now around 4'10 feet tall or so, but it still hasn't bloomed. Sunshine is adequate in that area of my garden. Do they bloom when they're much taller? 🤔

It blooms like crazy each spring and summer here in California. Ours is in full sun

@@WhatPlantisthatPaul When did yours start bloom after you first grew it? Btw my one is actually more 5'2 in height and it gets sunshine up until 12pm. It's just giving new leaves, even now as it's cooler and almost winter.

I noticed a crazy sight on the brushy edge of my new rural Louisiana lot yesterday...a stunning group of pretty yellow flowers that at first looked like they might have been on a vine. They smell good and appear to be on a small bush about 5 feet tall. I saw an even smaller one 18 feet away. I assume they`re one of these but this is my first time ever seeing one of these so I was very surprised. Flowers in February??

Awesome! Ours is a early bloomer, the earliest of all the Tecomas in the collection

How do you cut this back? Yours has a nice shape but I’ve seen these get really wide or the branches droop over

I prune it hard during the dormant season, right about now! Great question!

Beautiful! I've seen many here in S. Fla which is a testament to how hardy they are (hot and dry or humid!). Do you know if it makes for good cut flowers?

Awesome! I love Tecoma plants. The flowers are great when cut, but they don't last long at all in my experience.

I’m also zone 9 central California. I have a young plant that just arrived (what was I thinking?) Should I keep it as a houseplant until spring?

Maybe the birds and chipmunks eat the seeds off the ground...2🤷♀️🤷♀️

Good idea. We do have many ground squirrels that come over to forage. I was hoping for some random hybrids because I grow several varieties of Tecomas :)
