@bubblegumlie49183 жыл бұрын
When i was smaller my doctor basically told my mom: Okay- uhm we dont know what ur child has but if its cancer they ded lol” Thankfully it wasent and im still alive- ;-; okie- uhm lets contex this cuz i realized it just sounds stupid like that ;-; (also cuz im lonely and i wanna talk to someone TvT) so i was 6 and i woke up, tried to walk and felt like my leg was getting stabbed, couldn’t stand for more than 10 secs OvO then i realize my whole leg is filled with bruises, i go to le hospital, doctor is confused. They find out its a rare imune disease, i get treatment for about a year, leg no more hurt xD
@6rebelangel3 жыл бұрын
Well, if there are no other symptoms and nothing appears to be wrong physically, they simply have to go with the only few possibilities it could be. The worst thing is for them to misdiagnose and treat something that they don't actually know what it is. The wrong medication and treatment for the wrong disease or issue usually equals death.

If the doctor’s gender is uncomfortable for the patient then the patient must inform the doctor of such and request a nurse, it is not the doctors fault for her staying quiet and doing as he said which is implied consent, since there are two forms of consent we learn in law and ethics, implied and expressed. The fact that she came in of her own accord and did exactly what was asked without making any indications of her discomfort means that she was going implied consent and instead I’d say the fault lies with the parent who didn’t inform her that she could request a nurse or ask her if she was alright but I will admit the doctor should have said something along the lines of “I’m gonna put it in now ok?” Or something like that to be more on the ethical side but that is not a mandatory practice and as such legally it’s not the doctor’s fault for not magically knowing to get a nurse or female doctor

⚠️PLEASE READ! Important things I want to discuss about this video⚠️ I've been getting a lot of the same comments about certain issues with the video and I want to address them. 1.) PLEASE do not take the results from my experience as an explanation for your condition if you are experiencing the same symptoms, everyone's body is different and these symptoms can be an indicator for an even more serious condition. 2.) In NO WAY am I blaming the doctor for this experience, yes he was just doing his job, no he is NOT a pervert or someone who sexually assaulted me, this was just a very uncomfortable situation where I would've preferred a female doctor checking me. You have the right as a patient to request a doctor you're more comfortable with especially for a sensitive and invasive procedure like this. 3.) I did not speak up for myself when I should have because I was being checked in the ER which is a fast-paced, busy environment and I didn't think I would've had the option to and thought I'd be disrupting the workflow of these people just trying to their job, (but still try to speak up for yourself, you never know) 4.) A few people have had issue with my use of the word "Trauma" for this incident and I just want to clear up that in NO WAY am i trying to invalidate or make light of trauma survivor's experiences, i apologize if it came off that way. but I would also like to clarify that although I depicted this story in a comedic way, it was still a very distressing experience for me. Trying to lessen the negative feelings I have towards my experiences through comedy and relating with other people who experienced the same thing is how I cope and why I posted this. Some of you may see this as "just a normal examination with a doctor just doing their job" which is absolutely true, but for some people, it can trigger very unpleasant memories and you shouldn't shame a person for feeling the way they do without knowing their full history. 5.) Thank you for all your positive and supportive comments.

As someone with Crohn's disease, I had a very similar experience when I started bleeding and went to the ER. No answes but plenty of medical bills. That being said, there is value in knowing that your life isn't at immediate risk (which is the job of the ER doc). I was lucky to find a gastroenterologist who helped me find the cause of my bleeding. Thank you for sharing your story.

I grew up with fissures and at the ripe ol’ age of (somewhere between 5 & 7) my regular doctor would do it a lot. And now that has been replaced with chronic knee pain 11-15 and a physical therapist, painkillers, 8am surprise blood work, finding out I can’t sit still in an MRI and finding out loud noises triggers my anxiety (and that I really like jazz) I’m physically okay 👍. But now I’m not mentally okay, haven’t been since 10 :)
