A bit of philosophy on how I personally approach aligning my rear wheel and tensioning my chain on the Himalayan 411.

Just had my 3000 mile service done on my Scram 411 and the rear wheel is cocked a bit. Thanks to your video, I ordered the alignment tool and will be checking it when it gets here tomorrow.

Thank you for this. Love the no BS straightforward instruction (gives me the confidence that you know what you're doing). I've subscribed and look forward to following your other Himalayan footage.

Good video! I run my chain a little slacker as i ride off-road a bit. I also adopted applying the rear brake whilst tightening up the axle nut to avoid it moving… bit difficult without an assistant but can just about manage with long spanner reaching over and a screwdriver on the other side 👍

Yea I thought about suggesting the rear brake, but I wanted to make it for folks who are probably solo. Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for that insightful tutorial and explanation to how you do it. Looked like your rear breaks was missing one of its cotter pins.

Rear should only have one cotter pin.

Great video my friend. I just got done riding my Himalayan on the MABDR. I ran into some alignment issues after tightening the chain. I like the tool you're using. I think I'm going to get one. Question, when I set my chain to the 25 setting and drop the bike back off the service stand it feels so tight but I guess that's normal right?

Good video, well explained and good close ups showing exactly what is required. The problem I have is that after following this approach using rhe same chain alignment tool the adjustment marks are well off. The disc side is a full mark and a quarter furrher back than the chain side. Can the alignment marks really be that far out. Do I ignore the marks and trust rhe chain alignment tool?

I'd trust the tool if the marks are that far out. If this was a Japanese bike, I'd be dubious but the tool can't lie. If you wanted to REALLY be sure, you could get a laser alignment tool which is even better than the tool I use.

@@Johnnyjsgarage Thanks for the reply. I think you are right. I will double check my work and go with what the alignment tool is telling me. Keep the quality content coming. 👍
