Wait a second. A guy who liked the old Himalayan likes also the new one? Interesting. And cudos to the 450 Himi, as it not only looks like it is built like a tank, but delivers even in situations that are a bit beyond the scope for what an adventure bike has to be capable of.

I’m 65 now and have ridden mountain trails in the Pacific Northwest of the US, road raced, and owned and ridden MANY sport bikes, dirt bikes, and dual sports. I currently ride a 701 because of its relatively light and has plenty of power. I state this not because I’m proud of everything, but rather I feel very fortunate and privileged to have had all of those experiences. A bike like the Himalayan is appealing to me because a day is coming when the Husky will be too much and the Himi would allow me to continue in something I love. Heck… it hassles me now ! It’s the Leatherman of motorcycles.

The original Himalayan was developed as an India-only adventure bike to tackle rough trails in the Himalaya mountains - "the roof of the world" and the toughest highest terrain imaginable. I think lightweight tail bikes is a much missed niche that provided: commuters, weekend fun bikes (long B4 supermoto) for the poor like me. I even think the generation B4 had the right idea with old BSA's that with different tyres shocks, handlebars, mudguards could do TT, work & dirt. My first off road 4T ride was a '70's CB200 with no mudguards/silencers & a massive rear sprocket . On of the happiest off road rides of my life. BTW I have CR500 & TS250 in the shed so not a complete pu55y. Oh yes enjoyed the vid.

Indians (youtubers) just create unnecesssary drama. Compared to the KTM 390 adv, I find the Him 450 far smoother. There is little buzz, which is to be expected from a 450cc single. It's nothing to be worried about. Same with the idiotic "Chassis broke" videos you see. Look at Chris or any other from an international market who are properly thrashing these bikes and nothing happens but touring guys in India who use aftermarket accessories complain about the quality of the bike. Dont listen to most Indian youtubers. They have absolutely no clue what they are talking about nor do they have any expertise in it. Unfortunately social media has given a voice to everyone and people follow these so called influencers blindly. I'm Indian so I know what is being done here. If any, just stick with listening to guys like Schumi and Karthikeya from Motorinc or Sagar Sheldekar. Don't bother with anyone else.
@takeshikusao46743 ай бұрын
I did a small testride and I can tell you that most of the range is smooth, but there is certain mid-high range of RPM where it suddenly starts buzzing (around 6-8k), but most of the time I've been below 6k, there's plenty of power there. And also there's some more range above 8k.
