Yeah that's the common theme. Eft you are rewarded by the amount of time you play. Armor changes and the damage spill from legs, arms and stomach leave casual players at a huge disadvantage. Not only that, if you can only play once a week, insurance disappears

I sometimes work 14 hours a day not including driving. While I started playing two or three months ago I have barely learned 2 maps. PVE is a nice addition. Reistically PVE mode as an option will make thr PVP more competitive in the long term as everyone can get their reps in.

Played PVP since 2017, hitting level 30-35 per wipe, typically feeling burnout late wipe. I have to say that PVE has been the best addition to the game thus far, ontop of the localization and no matchmaking timers Right now im level 44, and have been doing quests i havent done before, havent tried before, and using gear confidently. I dont get depressed playing tarkov anymore. I dont feel sleighted playing tarkov anymore. I like that the Ai PMC's are difficult as hell and still rewarding. sure, they arent shooting you or returning fire from 200+ but thats a good compromise between sweaty tarkov players and regular people playing the game. The game still feels immersive, difficult, but at least you have a FAIR chance now, and i think thats where the playerbase can agree. Im really good at tarkov or any fps in general and have been playing since shoreline was the newest map, im probably top 1% of the tark community and i still prefer pve, i think the fun in the game isint strictly pvp, the looting exploring questing is also a big part of the fun

I mean even with 8k hours I found going through PVE pretty enjoyable(there were obvious issues that I would like to see fixed like PMCs teaming with scav bosses and local mode being pretty trash performance wise) but I actually think its a great way for people to enjoy the game on their own time. I do think PVPVE is the superior mode but they should take some of the features from PVE like AI PMCs being a thing so its a little less random when trying to complete tasks like capturing outposts, because it was so much more relaxed yet still somewhat challenging to get Kappa in PVE

I bought Tarkov in 2018-edge and upgrade Unheard. I’m a pretty average gamer these days being almost 48 and having kids and all that to take care of. Never made it past level 10 for few wipes I tried. Think played around 500-600hrs. It’s a challenging game if you don’t have the time. PVE came out and I’m just about level 50 and have at least 200hrs in PVE. Done a large chunk of quests. Still can’t figure out exactly what to do for kappa lol. Got a couple my old school gamer buddies about to buy Tarkov and PVE so we can all game. Absolutely enjoying the pace I set with the time I have. Knowing my character won’t wipe is a solid 99% of the reason I will keep playing. Feels Worth!

giga chads made me switch, more than the campers. i actually enjoy the game now. I dont have time to farm roubles for the best ammo and gear. i got a job bro. PVP tasking is basically impossible unless you get a dead lobby. YTubers literally make highlight content around killing taskers/exploiting new player. playing PVE actually made me better at the game. Gear fear gone in PVP now just bc I can actually learn the map and sounds queues. Sure, I didnt know the general map flow at first but atleast I knew where to take cover and different angles I could take. PVEasy mode is just fun and a great supplement to the base game

Axel, installing SPT is literally automatic, and installing mods usually is just drag and drop to the SPT folder, some mods just hand you the plugin and you have to drop it in the plugins folder manually. You should really try SPT, theres inmersive mods like batterysystem, variable optics, SAIN (it will blow your mind how good the ai could be). You can even play it what is LAN coop with project fika, so you have a modded coop experience. (fika also says its illegal to use it for a private pirated tarkov server, kinda like cracked world of warcraft would be) Im not a BSG hater, but i think their stance on SPT and modding is stupid, they should be more like Valve, although to be fair they dont have the man power to make a team developing SDKs for modding (yet) they havent finished the game yet. SPT is not illegal as it requires you a legit copy of the game in order for it to work, in theory, a friend can give you his account details to install the bsg launcher and download the game, install SPT and it will let you play because thats all you need to bypass its "legit game" check. As far as i know theres no pirating involved, and also piracy is not stealing. You are russian you guys literally pioneers on piracy.

PvE is facing clear bias from devs and PvP chads alike, but it truly feels like what I always wanted out of tarkov No longer do I have to put up with 15m load times only to get spawn killed off unfixed spawns, only to spend 3m to load back to main menu only to do it again. 20m spent staring at load screens only for a half a minute of playtime. Finally I just spend about 3m to load into a match, play more than a minute or two, and have fun in the match.

I have a perspective here no one has really considered so far. I suck at EFT. I am playing PVE to learn the game, as I progress, I find the skill gap is reducing. I am able to learn routes to farm, kill scavs, and rogues (PMCs) and I'm learning how to hold my own. I figure, I might get tired of PVE eventually, and try out PVP. Then I might actually be a contender and I wouldn't want to extract camp. I have been playing Tarkov for years now, and I have learned more about the game in 30 days than I have in that entire time. I still want to learn a few maps a bit better as well. I never even knew about Labs for example, never bothered, always so broke. Then by the time I did max everything out and had some money, wipe happened. Lot's of reasons why PVE is better for people like me.

Can someone explain why eft devs won't apply some soft anti-cheat practices such as: A. if your KD ratio is way to high than the average one, anti cheat system will trigger the signal about a high KD ratio. Is that really hard to do ? I don't think so. B. Make in-game invisible line of sight, if one cheaters who is using wallhack, is looking straight on some other players across the multiple obstacles (walls, buildings, etc) and tracks him, it should trigger some signals in their cheat detection system. So before considering him as a cheater, he should also be checked if the method "A" has been triggered also (which is high KD). Is that too difficult to implement ? I don't think so here either. C. Infinite stamine signal - Is he running way too long based on his level of stamina/endurance or whatever that is ? Trigger the signal List can keep going, there is no big to do something like that, which I believe will wipe out all cheaters from the servers. This signals could be constantly changing in the computer memory ram, to complicate the cheat development. I don't know too much , but you get an idea. At the end , if all signals are fulfilled , cheater will be put on each raid on some dedicated server with the other cheaters, so they could enjoy themselfs and leave the normal players alone.

Because probably cheating ecosystem in EFT PvP was the main revenue source of those devs. Everything was designed to promote cheating: ultra hard game with casual players, 2/3 wipes a year = some banned accounts + "micro transactions" (stuff sold by cheaters in the markets). You combine that with the thing that there've never wanted a kill cam and they are not using an anticheat client.... If it quaks like a duck, walks like a duck and smells like a duck.... Thats the reason I hate the flea market + traders. Logically, or rather set, not thought far ahead, it makes no sense buying a kit that is less than you can afford. Almost everyone buys by complete availability the best they can get/afford. So the guns/equipment that is played is a tiny fraction that is available/in the game. When traders and flea market would be tuned DOWN we would play more with what we loot, so the PLAY VARIETY would be much better.

I'm happy to stick to local matching since I can understand that PvP players are losing some of their cannon fodder and therefore giving them shorter queuing times would be a fair trade, as I see it. At least in the EU its a relativ clear case, you are allowed to modify a product you own as long as it is not a safty concern for human or animal life (for example cutting parts of a car away). You own the installation of the game on your pc, so you are allowed to modify it. The TOS is not above the law, BSG knows this and that is the reason SPT still exists.

This comment, while in the right vein of pointing out that people playing a single player version of the game doesn't affect BASIC gameplay for PVP players, it misses the main reason why Chads and some streamers are angry: PvE is populated almost exclusively by the players that Chads and streamers used to farm. The servers are obviously different since PvE and BSG's faux pas put SPT AKI very upfront in the market. They are quieter, but also harder to play. Everyone you see is either a cheater or a Collector finished player. There are no new players, no level 1-20s, and no dad gamers. Just fields upon fields of Chads. Who are all angry because now they have to fight each other. So PvE isn't to blame itself, but PvE _is affecting PvP_ and I say that as someone who fully supports SPT and PvE but let's be real, it does affect things. I just don't give a sh!t about the whiners crying that they finally have to fight people at their skill level. If you are finding yourself feeling like "the servers will die off much earlier in the wipe" then you are likely one of those listed above. The servers already do that when the dad gamers get doubled up on level, ie. when they're at level 15 in week two, y'all are all level 25-30. And that only grows each week. As it stands, server population takes a dump at week 3, week 6, and week 12 due to the speed the no-lifes level and make money. You push them onto PvE and there's nothing to be done about it because they have zero time and you sweat hard on the game. There is no way to balance 24 hour a day players versus 3 hours a day players so crying that they decided to leave is the dumbest shit I've ever seen. Also, Pestily's "some people are saying you don't need the base game to play" SPT is hilarious. There are fewer people playing SPT with cracked software than there are playing EFT with cracked, stolen, and ban evading accounts so this is a nonissue. It's like a little jab at SPT to claim it's just a way to pirate the game. Not a good look.

I used to think my 4000 hours meant something but after 8 years of playing, that simply isn’t true. I’ve played every wipe since alpha, and having to spend the amount of time needed to level all traders to max simply has me quitting early. As a dad, I just don’t have the time for it. They need to make the leveling easier because it’s only hurting the non-sweats. Sweats will have max traders in less than two weeks. Meanwhile everyone else it could take a month or more. By that time, at least for myself, I’m burnt out on the fun I had previously. Is really like to see the XP gains higher given the difficulty and time commitment this game takes, becuase is the fact it wipes so frequently.

People should just enjoy the game they like to play, if people like PVE, play PVE. If you enjoy PVP, play PVP, if you like SPT you can mod it like skyrim/fallout 4, but there are always going to be performance/optimization issues with Tarkov in general with my past 4 years of playing. When things are hosted local that just will add quite a bit more to the math/calculations your computer has to use. BSG should've done things a better way in regards to everything (unheard edition, the way PVE was brought in, etc.) I agree with Axel on having an option with the availability to be online or offline from their servers. Gingy's tweet IMO was spot on. Wipes only occur when they add new content, in a theoretical scenario think if Tarkov never wiped when they added new content the game would be totally different. Keep in mind PVE is still in development, and has come a decent way from where it is now and still does need work. At it comes to the bottom line, you should only truly care about how you like to play the game, because you spent your money, your time on this game. Good vid Axel :)

PvE dosnt take anything away from PvP and is for different people to enjoy. Most people complaining about PvE are either cheaters or PvP sweats that are just sad there are less noobs they can easily get loot from , and some people dont like redoing what they already did and struggled with every wipe. Some quests only need to be done once they are painful even without other players or cheaters ruining your questing. IF bsg wants people to return to PvP they should 1 add anti cheat , 2 Make the PvP quests easier since you have to do them every wipe , 3 Some persistence between wipes ( not much ) but starting from nothing every wipe with all the work you put in last wipe giving you nothing not even cosmetics makes people feel like their time invested in PvP wasted since all they gain is their experiences from playing ( which are usually getting close to completing a quest then dying)

PvE is a self correcting "problem". Since it doesnt force a wipe, PvE has an expiration date for everyone playing it. I see it basically as a tutorial that a new player or a bad player will play through once to learn the maps and get the confidence to move through them. Afterwards they will either move to PvP or stop playing completely because the content in PvE really runs out and becomes completely irrelevant after you basically have all the vendors open.

Most wipe cycles Id have already stopped and moved on to a different game months ago. But Pve has kept me engaged. I left my try-hard PvP days behind after Halo 3. As someone who’s completed 5 wipes, getting to all level 4 traders in PVP is still extremely unenjoyable and a major time sink. When you’ve got time for a raid or two, getting killed by a rat/crab 30 mins into a raid when you’ve got quest items/loot is just a big waste of time. I’m starting to value my time more than I enjoy Tarkovs gameplay loop… PvE bas been fun but I’ll put it down soon and won’t touch it until new content drops. Arena has been a good but I can never stomach more than a game or two because there’s no point in engaging with the progression system.

For me it's not cheaters that killed pvp, it's the fucking rats. I was playing duo with my buddy, and I died on Factory, then i watched him and my killer rat each other for 15 MINUTES, until the timer made them make a move, and he died to a fully equipped juiced up rat.

The problem is adding a PvE mode to a game which was initially PvP, trying to please everyone. This in fact loses players because it eventually turns one sided and less people will play the other mode; especially since the drama following the Unheard edition. Instead of fixing the actual problems, being the cheaters and lack of new player friendly tutorials, they put band aids on the game to just shut people up.

While you are admittedly correct. The fact is: most of my friends who have played for 7 years for month long streaks have all swapped to PVE as soon as it came out. They reach max level, do all the quests, get a gun they like, and retire the game until wipe. Because they typically show on day 1, trio/Squad up, and then rush through maps and focus on just drilling people down. For them it was fun to have that challenge. But equally so, they found more interest in the mechanics. Looting, examining, healing. The simulation aspects of it. They admit that PVE has been a great relief because they’re not getting head-eyes by a hacker every 1/5 raids. The reality is: PvE is a great choice financially for Nikita and Tarkov. People who otherwise wouldn’t play Tarkov because of pvp are now playing. Many who left have come back and so on. The only negative is that fake chads no longer get fed loot and it pisses them off and then they cause a schism through their salty non-persuasive rhetoric like “skill issue.” While I can agree on a surface level, people who deserve the skill issue or git gud treatment are far and few in between. And most of them are very obvious to any well skilled players. Complaining that M8155A can pen lvl 4 and wanting a nerf to M8 or a buff to lvl 4 is a clear skill issue. But most who I have seen receive it are people genuinely upset they don’t have the time to master and learn the game like they want to and Nikita clearly expects them too. Which is why all pvp games die or become ELO hell. Moving to PVE is the WISEST decision Nikita could make. And the people whining about PVE players are making the worst decision they ever could.

Hacking killed PvP in Tarkov. No one wanted to go into raid knowing full well half the lobby had some form of hack. Its a big reason why I stopped playing Tarkov 2 years ago because they couldnt get the hacking under control at all. Single Player Tarkov has pretty much allowed me to play a game I paid 125 dollars for when EoD was on sale.

SPT REQUIRES a valid purchased copy of EFT to play. If you are using a cracked version you get banned immediately. They are doing everything in their power to avoid legal repercussions from BSG. I think BSG would be missing out on big money if they don't capitalize on the formula SPT is so successful with. PvE is a good start, modding support will take it to another level.

Here’s the problems for PvP vs PvE Tarkov: The game is aging and some hardcore players are slowly phasing out (like it or not this game is now 7 years old and counting. Because of this there are far less players who are willing to put in the hours and grind. The targeted demographic of original players are older and life is demanding more from them. And the older a game is the harder it is to draw in a new generation of players. So they have less time progress, less time to grind and now throw in the horrible cheating problems. Imagine you only have an hour or two to play in your evening after work. Halfway through one of your two only raids for the night, you get head/eyes’d by an obvious cheater. It stings a bit more when you don’t have hours and hours to pour into the game. Now PvE comes along, eliminates the time constraint (no wipes), allows me to progress and experience the new features I never got to previously experience aaaaaaand all the cheaters are gone. If I die, I die because I genuinely lost. It’s not the BSG is doing anything necessarily wrong (although not addressing cheating and the Unheard Edition certainly are problems) it’s the natural life cycle of a game playing out in real time.

6:00 I don't enjoy doing all shit again for 99th time. It's same grind, boring questing and speedrun/softlock for 200 hours before you can get new missions/bosses ect. I hate wipes and I'm not alone, 90% of people never get even close to endgame due to wipe/cheaters/unbalanced or simply bad wipe. If there was a chance to not wipe character like in any other mmo I would never do that unless I want to. It's a waste of time, waste of content they add. It's only new grind and constant fight with cheaters about ledx/gpu/boss kills.

honestly PVE will only benefit the game. It is a fantastic testing ground for the AI in the game. Instead of relying on the ETS players (which i imagine is an extremely small pool) they can test AI changes and improvements on PVE mode and ideally, bring them over to PVP mode when they find a decent spot. Especially when/if they plan to add the other factions such as RUAF and the UN. Performance can definitely be improved, but hopefully that will come with time and unity engine upgrades.

I loved pvp tarkov but the long load times and the giga w chads just did it in for me as i only have a day or 2 to play a couple hours. I ve never been able to get my traders to lvl 3 even before i got sick of playing. So pve is a good thing for me.

I got the game and played for a few days. Ran into multiple cheaters and just got fed up with it. Found out about spt and haven't looked back. With a few key mods the game is way better than anything i've ever seen anyone get on live. You can easily fix all the quality of life things that bsg could fix in 10 days if they actually gave a fuck about making a quality game. Don't have to deal with hackers, can have multiple profiles so you can do challenge runs or hardcore. The only time I touch the bsg launcher is to update to the newest spt version. I honestly can't see anything being done to the point I would ever consider going back to live servers. If they kill off spt tomorrow I will just keep the version I have and mods I have now and just play that.

Last night I couldn’t get into a woods map in the US. Totally dead. PvE killed Tarkov because it splintered the playerbase. Arena is fire right now, which also splinters the playerbase. We now have 3 different groups of people that’s why the game feels dead.

It has taken Tarkov so long to even get near release, that most players are played out. Tired of cheaters, tired of network problems, massive desync, and just trash feeling gameplay. PvE fixes many of those issues, but people are still absolutely worn out on it all. I gave up after 4 years just before the Unspeakable Edition came out. Realized this was a pointless treadmill, and moved on.

I won't play PVP until the audio is fixed, no wipes, and cheaters have been lowered drastically. I'm tired of doing the same quests over and over and over again, the most important aspect of FPS is audio and it's fucking broken. It hasn't worked for wipes, it makes gun play super boring and ruins map flow, and obviously spending 10 minutes loading into a raid, finally finding the quest item after playing for 4 hours just for a cheater to kill you and reset that it's just not worth it anymore. The game is too punishing as is without players even being involved with desync, quests, aim bot AI, bad audio, at least in PVE I can vibe and just have fun.

PVE is basically a gateway drug/on ramp for less experienced players who are avoiding playing because they don't want to get curb stomped by chads when all they're trying to do is learn where TF to get the machinery key. It also allows players to avoid getting burnt out/tilted by cheaters and all the other punishing aspects of PVP like extract campers/rats/etc. I think overall, it benefits the game and lead to more people playing PVP over time.

SPT is not difficult to install and neither are the mods for it. It’s a significantly better experience than the janky pve Tarkov gamemode. You also get complete control over your experience and can make it as crazy difficult or easy as you want. That doesn’t mean they can’t get pve to that level or close to it though. If SPT is an illegal copy then why don’t bsg just rip stuff from the mods and make it work in pve? There were so many people using SPT that the website didn’t work right for weeks so bsg could definitely make some money if they actually put effort into pve.

I dont find PvP fun in tarkov, ofc one of the big reasons is cheaters, but also people play the game in a boring way especially with playing slow or camping in random bushes feel equally as unfair as cheaters, yes you will die in tarkov to things you cant controll but when 60% of my deaths are to people proned in random spots 20% to cheaters and the last 20% to sweats with way better gear it feel just kinda cancer.
