@@Ishlacorrin AL giving hood early is a good thing to compensate for new players having to wait for events to get the best ships, however also because of this many players also didnt have the amazing experience of playing and liking mid tier ships such as repulse, cleveland, leander class, etc, which is kinda bad because these players dont know how really good they can be if you know how to use them, which will make you a really really good commander. an example of this is shohou, who you can see hawk praising her all the time in his AL streams because many ppl dont know how really good she is not just for the healing, but for her high damage output, which is not much known, thus she being a really underrated ship this happens with a lot of other ships my personal experience is ajax, after retrofit she became one of my best DPS ships till this day (i play AL for 1 year already, commander lvl 95)

I'm late and I agree with you, also there is hope that she "might" get a refit (as her twin funnels explains that this was her pre-refit version). Edit: Twin funnels commonly on royal navy ships are either just coal powered or coal but with the earliest use of steam turnbine driven.

I wasn't the biggest fan of her, at first, but she grew on me over time. There's something about her I find endearing. I still use her in my fleet, but I'm not sure for how long that will actually be feasible. No oath skin, no post-oath lines, no retro though desperately needed. But tier lists be damned, she's a good girl for the SKK. Hmmm... Repulse, Amagi, Dunkerque. I'm starting to think I have a thing for battlecuisers.

She's many's first taste of Battle____ type ships, though a newbie may overlook the entire type for a while due to how underwhelming 0LB Battle_____ types are. Her skill is more a newbie skill if anything where a few shots may get through due to inexperience. Her value as a unit is a tad unfortunate considering that the Nevada class sisters with refits soar ahead of her. Her poor AA is a nod to her sinking in the same ill-fated mission against the Japanese forces who flexed their fledgling carrier might and emboldened them to do Pearl Harbor. And as a character/waifu, plenty of promise with a tomboy charm, but her artist vanishing seems to have put the damper on any skins/etc. But screentime/treatment is on the list of good things the anime did (it's a short list) About Hood, the bulk of her damage comes from barrage (thus the gap between it procing and not is pretty big)

I feel like if that was the reason for her low AA then they should have also given her a high evasion. Captain Tennant managed to dodge a volley of 19 air-launched torpedos before they finally hit Repulse.

Well, the IJN just pretty much flex on a non-existing air power from the British in the east. It would be better if the dev gave her a retrofit that could increase her AA and Evasion stat or maybe add a skill that allows her said stat to increase if sortied out with Prince of Wales

She's not the only one affected tho. All of the British battlecruisers are affected and two Pearl Harbor battleships are on the list. Kinda sucks since Arizona's the only battleship that can heal.

@@UnderAPaleGreySky This. Also, as a bonus, they could also change her skill to having a chance to activate upon evading a shot, instead of being hit by a shot. Not only would it fit Repulse better historically, it also fits her skill's name better. When you hear "Counterattack", you think of someone getting attacked, evading/blocking it, and then striking back, not someone eating the attack in the face and then punching back.

At one moment when I start to develop Monarch I didn't have Hood o Warspite (o any good BB/BC really) so I start using Repulse and oh boy, she's a cute, with her wink and lovely voice. Then Hood was on exchange (weeks later Warspite but Mommy was done atm) so tfw Repulse was 109 vs Hood 80 crack me a little bit xD. Today Hood is lvl 120, oath (with 200 aff) and Repulse is lvl 110 no oath but I will never forget those memories I spent with her. Great video.

Good ol' Repulse, how much do I owe you lass... I remember the time when I started playing on JP (around two and a half years), I had the most horrendous luck when it came to gacha pulls back then (which is ironic nowadays since I'm literally up to date with anything the gacha has to offer and I've got like 1,4 k cubes to spare... despite being a F2P) so I had to rely on her.... And California. Those two lasses carried me all the way to chapter 6 before being replaced by better options like Rodney ( I used her regularly until chapter 10), Hood (I share a strong love-hate relationship with her), Washington or Nagato. Her stats aren't the most impressive and her skill being a counter doesn't help her that much either, but she's useful on early to mid game (and can be a decent low cost choice for hard mode maps/ gold blueprint farming if her level is high enough). And yes, I agree that she's adorable. Her design is both lovely and nice looking, she's a cinnamon roll and her voice actress does a great job at fleshing her character out (the only reason I haven't oathed her yet is mainly because she lacks an oath skin). Thanks for the trip down memory lane ^^

I’m sorry but that spot for me is Hood/Laffey. Had Long Island as my first backline, shortly after Repulse. But then Hood came in the exchange shop and ye... After just a couple weeks Hood became my first actual backline ship I could rely on. Now she sits as my highest lvl ship, 112, oathed at 200 affinity, and oh boy, she still kicks ass. Can’t deny Repulse helped me slightly along Long Island, but again, it was less than 2 weeks compared to now months after I started playing. So ye, for me Hood holds that special place along the Starters, Laffey, Z23, Ayanami and Javelin. Also, I didn’t have medals to exchange, but I did have a San Diego. You can guess what I did to get Hood. Would I still do it? Abso-fucking-lutely yes, best trade in history, I hate the Numba Wan meme anyway.
