the problem is NOT that Harley is infatuated with the Joker again. the problem is likely that they do nothing with it. Harley and Joker are a TEAM, a PAIR, two parts of a whole act. her infatuation while an important part of her character and motivation originally also was used to spice up their interactions together.

Sure, a fireball could act like it's laser-guided using the caster's mind, but it could also be (and more likely, considering most media) that it just flies straight at whatever the caster aimed it at, with no way to guide it once it's cast. Most magic spells also tend to fly pretty slowly, too.

I haven't seen this show yet, but I'm glad Harley is at least somewhat back to her roots of being with the Joker. Harley is a character you're meant to pity, to see the flaws in, but be able to relate before you fall as far as she has. I'd hope to see how she grows to eventually not need the Joker, but having that unhealthy obsession is a great way to demonstrate how unhealthy their dynamic is. Harley is important as an abuse victim to help real-life abuse victims realize that they're in an abusive relationship. She's not meant to glamorize it like people think. Originally i was just enjoying her more when she was joker crazed seeing her as more fun to watch but after time to think of it she is not only more entertaining to me but fundamentally more interesting of a character. As i said the originally version of Harley was a person who had a good life as a therapist who made the biggest mistake of her life and now lives crazy and psychotic willing to hurt or even murder people for the even crazier clown she fell in love with. It’s a dark story but her and joker’s family moment in Batman Beyond is one of my favorite Joker and Harley moments with them together. But even then she still has a terrible life being with him as sometimes he loves her, sometimes he uses her, and sometimes he couldn’t care less about her. She is a lesson, on purpose or not, that people who keep making bad decisions will have a bad life. People say it was bad to have her be in a relationship where she gets abused but that’s the whole point of her character. Showing abuse or dark subjects like that does not mean the person showing it is condoning it. she is someone driven beyond insane to see her toxic unhealthy relationship as a loving relationship. But having her suddenly realize that she made big mistakes and that she isnt in love with Joker, going off on her own, undoes all that. Going off of what i saw @JeanneCutieJ say. I also agree on that point. Where i would also still like stories of her with joker as a couple and not be about abuse. While the stories where it is an abuses relationship is a lesson about life choices there are other ways of doing that where abuse is not involved. Instead just about her and Joker in a relationship and the bad life she lives is just cause she is now a criminal who’s punishment is the heroes who come to stop them and lock them up. Just wanted to add this cause i spent a whole time typing that thing about her abusive relationship side with Joker but wanted to share that i also enjoy, and more prefer, when Joker and Harley are in a relationship where none gets abused and they are the crime causing clown duo who love doing crime together From a writing stand point the abusive relationship angle works for the lesson From a viewership stand point i much prefer when there is no abuse and they are just both crazy together

Wdym it sucks that Harley is obsessed with joker? Ik joker harms her and hurt her in every way but is different in this anime! Joker actually cares Abt Harley and shows love! And he said that he loves her! This is why I LOVE this anime and I don’t understand why people hate it..anyway seeing the difference on how joker treats Harley now in the anime is sooooo good! He treats her with respect and cares for her! if I was Harley I would be obsessed to if my man treats me like a queen🫶

Waiting for the messenger actually makes some sense to me because, even with a bird's eye view of the events, the queen and her council had no idea what the Suicide Squad's plan was and what was actually happening. Even the soldiers ON THE BATTLEFIELD were confused when the enemy forces suddenly stopped attacking, and none of knew that Deadshot could neutralize the threat from 700 meters away. And I think that also explains the look in the queen's eyes at the end here. If a group of criminals from God knows where waltzes in and dispatches forces that your army has been struggling with for months, you'd probably be questioning the safety of your position as ruler.

its honestly refreshing seeing a Harley Quinn that ISNT over the joker. The best version of her was like that and she really doesnt deserve redemption. Only watched ep 1 sofar but im like 99% sure ivy is in the show so Harley will probably end up with her by the end anyways

Tbf for this Harleys obsession we haven't seen jokers true abuse and it seems like this one cares, probably not since he didn't bust her out of jail but at least he isn't beating her like normal and obsessing over batman

Well It was clear she had special privilages that the guard gave her from embazled money I am pretty sure Joker threatened him to do. It was a vacation more than anything. It was clear the guard was afraid of upsetting or displeasing Harley and when Waller came the man sweated buckets of sweat,It was obvious Joker had him care for her until he can get her out. She had a Tv,pizza,a comfy bad and A PLUSHY OF JOKER etc. She was taken care of.
