Jax’s hand not being there probably means Jax isn’t upfront about caring about others. he does care about others, as seen in the few frames you mentioned, but he’ll never really admit it, even if it becomes a serious situation. He wants others to see only who he wants them to see, a goofy, rude, and silly character.
