I bought a c308 and the charging handle wouldn't retract the bolt. Sent it back. They fixed it at no cost and even fixed the rear sight that wouldn't adjust. I didn't even mention that to them and the fixed it. Great company. Can expect better treatment than that.

I also have one of their older Bulgarian ak74s. Didn't have any of the issues people usually complain about. Just replaced the bad stock set with Russian surplus plum furniture. Looks good, reliable and much cheaper than an Arsenal or Saiga

I own a Century Arms C308 and C93. I really love them. Very affordable and represent firearms I couldn’t have afforded otherwise. My C308 is the Gen2/PTR. This is a great video. Don’t forget you can upgrade with aftermarket suppliers. Significantly lower price than PTR’s and has about the same accuracy. Once again nice video.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I’m glad you got a good C93. While the overall reception seems to have been a little sketchy (and I have personally handled C93’s which were clearly made incorrectly), I’ve also gotten very reliable reports that many of them are totally good to go. Thanks for the additional data. And your point about aftermarket support for the Century guns is well-taken. I’m pretty sure that in the long term I will leave my PTR as a “show-piece” (as it’s the closest I have to a real G3), and I’m going to build out the C308 as a more modern practical rifle with aftermarket furniture and optics. It’s likely that even with all the bells and whistles, the C308 will still cost me less than the PTR, and will in the end be a FAR more capable rifle.

Ive had a Century Arms CETME and a Gen 2 Century/PTR collab. They are not the same lol. The Gen2 is on par with the PTR91 in form and function. No paddle mag release but way better trigger and sight picture for non optic use. Century hooking up with PTR on the gen2 was a giant win here. If you can get a gen 2 for under $800 GET IT. These will be 2k rifles in just a couple years. The secret is out. Im seeing em at the range quite often. Great video Brother

Love my C308. I added the wood furniture. I paid Bill Springfield to improve the trigger and recoil buffer, and add the paddle mag release. It's reliable and accurate enough. I'll probably never sell it.

Awesome. They really are remarkably solid rifles, especially if you put a little work into them. I bet that Bill Springfield work was top notch.

Rifle is fine. Most of the problems can be solved by replacing the old-ass springs. If you go to the forums they’ll tell you everything is due to bolt gap issues, but first check the springs and break the rifle in.

I agree with your assessment. Century has made their errors, but I'm damn glad they'rearound. I'm very glad I've not gotten any century lemons. I really love my C308. I too was a bit gobsmacked to buy a C308 made by PTR for less than 500 shipped and in my hands. It also has performed flawlessly with decent accuracy. A phenomenal value!

Mine had a broken hammer spring, I replaced it with one from a parts kit, I added a paddle style mag release. And swapped to the steel pistol frame. Took it out a couple weeks ago with friends and burned through 80 rounds of Tula, Wolf and ZQI and it ran flawlessly. It was a favorite of everyone that shot it. I have 3 different stock sets for it.

It's taken me a couple months of training but I've gotten to the point that I can hit the mag release without moving my hand out of position or using my other hand. The Red Dot I have on it is very nice. I wouldn't call it the most accurate rifle. But it gets the job done. Easily 2 MOA. Love mine. The only thing I don't like about it is the iron sights. I just don't like them.

You know what's interesting is the past 8 to 10 years I purchased various century arms products and every single one of them totally and probably around 7 or 8 have worked functioned and been fantastic it's like anything mechanical there's always a potential for an issue every manufacturer has an issue
@Triangle26
@Triangle26 3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, glad to hear! Most of my experiences with Century have also been quite positive. That said, I think it’s a little potentially misleading to suggest that “every manufacturer has an issue”. That’s technically true, sure, but it’s kind of like saying “every sport has risks” - and I think we can all agree that playing soccer is still safer than BASE jumping! Point being, some factories have a defect rate of .01%, and some factories have a defect rate of 10%, and it’s important to recognize that.

I can't get rollers anywhere with the correct value to bring it close to the required bolt gap. The recoil is fierce to say the least and I'm not the only one who says that - even despite the larger and softer butt pad. The open sight on the 'point blank' setting is not something that suits me, so I'm considering replacing it with the diopter type barrel.

Looking at a gen 2 c308 right now, guy is asking 1300, comes with 10 mags and 400 rounds. Has a .16 gap, mostly all ptr parts like barrel upper and lower and hk internal parts. And a cheap red dop to top it off.

Century Arms is a great company even with the crap guns just because they are normally half the price of other brands. You can fix the gun with the money you saved.
