Aaron Humphrey I don’t have one so I can’t vouch for that specific application, but I will say I deleted my 6.7 power stroke and it made a HUGE difference. Gained almost 200 hp and 300 ft lb torque, runs cooler, and best of all is the mpg. I went from 12-13 mpg average to 18-19 mpg average. And I drive like an asshole. So I could imagine someone could at least get 20-24 mpg if driving conservatively. Point being, it’s totally worth it. For my truck it was like $2000 to delete and tune it and put on an aftermarket air intake. And since I drive around 450-500 miles a week, it paid for itself in saved fuel costs very quickly.

One thing I HATE about SEMA-type show interviews, is that no one EVER fully discloses the information on the ENGINES! Like 210-hp, 385-ft lbs torque, 475-lbs, etc. Still trying to dig up information relative to 'drop-in' friendliness (what 'computers' are required...what sensors, signals, etc. is it needing to actually RUN in a vehicle (like the AMC shown in the video)? I mean...I've got a 35-ft boat I've been really looking hard for a 200-300 hp diesel engine to drop in it...and this MIGHT be perfect for that application...but beyond the 'crate engine', what ELSE do I need to 'turn a key' to get it running? Seems to be common-rail, piezo injectors...but is this EEC? Any control boxes required come with the engine?

Same. My 3VZE is putting on some serious miles. Any idea what's needed to make the swap?

The Hundredth Monkey sucks we never got the diesels they have in the Old Toyota hilux trucks in Europe, those are awesome motors

Would this be a viable swap from a 4.7L V8 Land Cruiser 100 series/ LX470?

Austin doing the same but different thing to my S-10 92. Manual and also 4x4. Going to be a great truck then.

I was so excited about these before they came out, but they are VERY expensive. I'll just have to be happy with a junkyard LS.

William Decoteau give it a couple years they always are initially.

Just buy a 6bt off some old farmer who knows jack about Diesel's
@WillThat6 жыл бұрын
@Don Olypopper I'm sure it is, but I was wanting to put it in a truck that's not even worth $1500. And you're correct, I'm not a diesel head, only experience I have is my TDI VW.

@Don Olypopper Thanks!

Don im a diesel person and I think 10k for just a engine is too expensive I dunno maybe it's from being poor and working my best to afford what I have not everyone can justify 8-10k for a project when a ls is what 1,500 or less and the parts are cheaper to work on it

I’m pretty sure come as a least 2/3 of the class a motorhome diesel powered motor homes, I think in the future Cummins is going to own the world because they have endless configurations and sizes

I'd take a 400 Big Cam or a N-14 over a 8.3 boat anchor they have camshaft issues.
