What I miss is the fact that there is no room for modding anymore. With this new DE release, everything is packaged into Unity files. There will be no way to update textures for a small component. There will also be no way to modify AI like the UCP currently can. Perhaps we can tweak AI decisions here and there, but for example, we will not be able to modify AI castle designs. If there are mistakes in the released version, it is highly likely we will be stuck with those forever.

Thats a huge shame! Is there a way Firefly could use something other that Unity Files to make te game more flexible to modders? It doesn't seem like there are any updates to pathfinding or AI in the demo which I am disappointed about. It may mean some fans just sick with the UCP. Thanks for sharing and great info 👍

The new lords are definitely way less interesting than the original roster... Also they nerfed the range of Trebs in the demo. They can't even outrange the tower ballista.

Yeah they just don't have the same personality for me as those featured in the original game and its a shame. Hopefully they will fix trebs before release, as if they can't outrange tower ballistas they are pritty much useless! 😥 Thanks for sharing! 👍

Personally I found the templar knight from SC2 to be excessive. I mean, 96% missile damage and a sentinal to cut that in half. Combine that with paper towers, not elevation bonuses, and war wagons and there was almost no point in building a castle at all. The sassanid knights were, at least, locked to the ground and were weaker to arrows than other metal armored units. Rangers were a very good idea tho. As for the demo: Skirmishers seem pretty much specialized to siege sniping. Made short work of my mangonels, but were pretty much irrelevant to xbows. Seem very weak in melee too - maybe between a spearmen and a slave. Camel lancers are hard to gauge - decent wall damage, and fast enough to avoid alot of arrow fire. Cant say for sure strong or tough they are from the opposing side. Probably like S2 holebars. Gonna be great for harassment and siege sniping. Heavy camels are decently tough. Take about 3 shots from max positive FF xbows. We'll see about the melee attack, but seems useful just off the durability and ranged attack. Demolishers probably the best arabian unit now, possibly in general - the shield takes the most hits from xbows I've seen of any unit. Seems unable dig moats tho. Lets hope the sapper can. Lords...meh? The sentinels castle design is trash since the gatehouse just behind his keep. Large amounts of xbows make him at least OK tho. Sends mostly pikes/xbows and some macemen/catapults in attacks after a while. Slower but stronger pig - same monk fodder as I see it. Nomad is a favorite just for 'dEmEnTeD cRaB', but you just roll over his "castle" and he uses the weakest units with few demolishers/heavy camels occasionally... might benefit from access to assassins or horse archers at least.

I quiet like the Templer Knight, but mainly as he has helped me win so many battle against AI in Crusader 2. They are very overpowered though as you say. And I do wish they were adding Rangers, realy liked them in Stronghold Crusader 2 and they are a lot more hardy than archers in melee , which made them a lot better to use as an offensive unit during sieges. Thanks for insight into your thoughts on the new units featured in the demo! I do feel these new units will change up the game for me, due to mainly being a player who focuses on European units due to their genualy better armour and overall strength. These new units do realy beef up the strength of arabian units at the players disposal. The Normad is my favourite one of the two new Ai lords featured in the demo as well. The Sentinel just seems a big meh as you say. I was hoping for some more larger than life, impactful AI Lords as seen in the original games. Thanks for sharing 👍

2 women is not historic accurate and I dont like the model. The new units are op, its a good idea make them optional ! I am happy about the game, but I need see more to think about, the game must be balanced to be good.
