Song mode never went away. Track mutes temporarily went away, an oversight, but was brought back pretty quickly and far more powerful than it was previously.

@@moonpie2637 If you have developed the old Mpc workflow, then stick to the older Mpcs. The new Mpcs are overpriced MIDI controllers and you’ll have to use it in controller mode to get the most out of the new Mpc 3 software. I personally prefer the old Mpcs because it fits my workflow best, but I have owned the Mpc x, Mpc Live2, and the Akai force and have sold the x and live2. I use the Akai force as a midi controller with the Mpc 2000xl and my Yamaha MX49 keyboard. At the end of the day, it’s YOUR CHOICE and you should decide base of your personal preference. Hopefully this helps you.

Totally......can relate to your testimony....How would you feel if Akai, developed within the software, VINTAGE SCREENS, meaning accommodative screens that would appear on the newer MPCs, perfect for the producer that works on an older unit.THIS MEANS FROM ***60,60II,1000,2000,2000XL, 2500,3000,4000,5000,ETC...SOFTWARE 1.0-2.0)THE 3.0 SHOULD BE A FINISHING PAGE LIKE PROTOOLS, FROM THE FINAL MIX ,TO EFFECTS, AND SO ON......WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THIS????FAMILY

@@HubertCopeland-mu3eh thank you for your response to this topic. I feel that Akai should make a Mpc that works like the older versions that would require a tactile layout and no touchscreen. I would like a better build quality and converters to have a more professional sound as the older models(Mpc 60-5000). The os for the hardware should be different from the software that is used on the computer so you can have the best of both worlds and give the user the option to choose. That’s my thoughts.
