My Thoughts on the New 410 Winged Sprint Car on iRacing

I spent two years away from iracing after having 6 world records in limited lates and 305 sprints. After coming back in the last week I have been chasing my tail despite racing real sprints for nearly 25 years. The cars feel absolutely fantastic but I’m a tail end car. The problem is not the car in any sense, it’s muscle memory. You anticipate the car to feel the same as before so you try and treat it the same, which you cannot. After using the same driving style as I do in the real world the sprints immediately made sense.. finally I’m winning again (after being a back marker for the week lol) As for people saying the car is “crap”, it’s actually much closer to the real deal now, just insanely different from what the car was 2 years ago.. can feel like it’s crap Great work iracing 👍

Well spoken! For some of us a real car is just not in the budget is this is the next best way to keep that passion alive with a little more than just sitting in the stands and watching tv! Things to time to perfect and develop, always excited for what the future has in store😊

cant help but feel its a step sideways if not backwards. cars feel so unnatural. setup sort of helps but not enough personally to feel that good. ive seen a couple irl winged drivers mention they arent at all realistic so who knows anymore lol.

I tested the 410 Sprint Cars all day yesterday and the more I drive them the more I enjoy them. I think the only thing they could really improve on is making it slicken off a little bit quicker on bigger tracks. The small tracks seem pretty solid but the bigger tracks don’t move up the track quick enough it seems.

Thanks for your insights, we run a 410 and we are running 8300 to 8700 on a good night. Other guys are even higher.

Previously I think iracing made 410,s way to drivable to suit everyone, realistically not everyone would be able to drive one. Do they need some work? Yes and they’ll get some changes but I think it’s a step in the right direction. But I think another issue is the iracing sets are ordinary, but don’t think it helps when a few beta testers are setup shops……Great vid man👌

It's definitely different. I think it's a lot better for DM. My winged sprint car setups need work. It's hard to drive Eldora now when in the past before the update you could go wide open all the way around the track no matter the setup. BTW big thanks for the tuning tips. It really makes sense when you talk about timing. Especially in sprint cars.

The shower of sparks coming off the rear brake on most sprint cars even on big half mile tracks nowadays is another pretty big giveaway that you aren't just 100% throttle all the way around every different size of track lol.

That was supposed to be Port Royal? You gotta be kidding me, so much for simulation, looks like a kiddie race game to me. Realism is going backwards not getting better, 90% of improving gameplay was just getting the aero right, like not being able to follow on someones bumper without losing grip. Sprint cars don't play follow the leader and his line like it's daytona or talladega. No if the guy in front of you takes the cushion you hit the bottom, that should be obvious to all the geniuses studying dirt racing and implementing updates. This update is crap.
