My Thoughts On the New Micro Sprints on iRacing

Looks like the only time we get to run the non wing micros is with the Millbridge showdown, alternating between wing and non wing. I wish they would have a dedicated series for the non wing

Don’t have iracing yet but I raced real micros for 3 years. They’re absolutely badass to drive. The incredibly short wheelbase makes them very twitchy and easy to spin in the slick. Hope they add Sweet Springs, it would be fun to drive a track I actually raced at.

i really enjoy the micro winged, i just started playing racing seriously recently. These cars have taught me how to drive around others. Its transferred to other cars also. These are excellent for beginners.

I'm interested in seeing what your thoughts on the wing sprint car setup update i enjoy them more I drove at portroyal in the 410 and lap times are more realistic to what they run in real life there

they just need commitment for throttle into the corners and smooth steering. If you are still spinning out, you should lower your steering ratio.

I won my second race in this car. It was EPIC. Surviving and beating 30 other people feels so good.

I found that when this track is tacky, running the slider line in 2nd gear is the fastest line. You also can't blow it up. I ran 20 laps in 1st gear wide open and the temps started decreasing.

I started racing micro winged sprints. They are a lot of fun but I can't get any faster than 14.3xx laps.

They're really fun, but i'm very worried they'll be dulled down/neutered in the very near future, like all the other dirt open wheel cars. The cars are harder to drive which they should be. Dirt open wheel cars are hard to drive, but it's classified as a rookie car. So I can see some problems coming up with that.

and your getting them to sideways, real life you have to drive them kinda like a dirt kart. in general a non wing micro should drive similar to a midget, wing micro just depends on the top wing, and you can get them so aero locked its like driving on pavement. and no you dont shift, some car brands actually have the shifter on the out side of the car, all hand clutches.

non wing wise the should have done non wing and wing micro rookie, 305 and midget d class 360 overall c and 410 overall b. its kinda weird almost half the content dont open up till c class

how did iracing get a 16k rpm motor

The mini sprints we raced all used motorcyle engines so 16k isn't unheard of most were at about 14k.

@@offdabeatz i should’ve worded my comment better. the engine they have seems to top out too quickly. i really noticed it when i ran winged williams grove for shits and gigs. IRL they can get up to 17.5k rpm, so i wonder if they tuned the motor down for rookie license

I run at millbridge with the micros and I have to say they aren't realistic. Setups are completely backwards to real life.

Just like the stadium trucks they will fizzle out
