Hey, I've repaired about 8-9 of these just this year. If you want it fixed let me know, I can even give it more power. The T500 is pretty much the same as a early Fanatec CSL Elite on the inside. You can even swap the motor from the CSL over to a T500. But, if you just want it fixed let me know. Really shouldn't cost that much either. Just don't throw the wheel out whatever you do, and if you don't wanna fool with it I'll buy it from you.

@@flush_entity I was searching just that and you will have to shell the big bucks. I was looking into the Accuforce but I then saw that if are up for a bit of assembly you can get a superior wheel at a lower cost and faster ship(Accuforce can take 6 months to build) by going for an OSW kit. I work on real cars and computers so assembly is nothing to me. It will take research as you can buy separate parts and put them together or go for a kit. Then pedals will be another thing worth investing it. It will basically run more than $1,000 for a good wheel and again more than $1,000 for a good pedal set. I have my eyes set on the Heusinkveld pedal kits.

Thats a common problem with switchmode power supplies (sorry if someone has already commented this) If you can get another power supply, it will all work perfectly fine. The light flashes when you plug it in because the circuitry cant handle the current draw, and then goes solid when unplugged from the wheel because there is no load causing the issue.

But why would the LED on the power supply fade out then? Either the wheel would have a protection, then the PSU would not be affected at all, or it would smell bad, smoke etc. Well.. there is a chance, that the short would let just enough power through to bring the PSU to its limits but not enough to burn the traces on the inside, which would be a huge plus for the T500s design. But i feel like it could also be the PSU, being unable to provide enough power to the wheel. The circumstances when breaking also would point to a bad cap in the PSU, i think.
@veckia
@veckia 5 жыл бұрын
@@JanJanJanJanJanJanJanJanJan2 not every design have protections against common eletrical issues like a short circuit, and not every damaged component smoke or smells bad nowadays... your computer's cpu or smartphone cpu is one of those things, they just fry and stop working like a fuse. I'm explaining this in a very simple way, there's a lot more to it.
@francescogugliuzza3827
@francescogugliuzza3827 5 жыл бұрын
@@JanJanJanJanJanJanJanJanJan2 a shorted switching psu does that, because the internal circuit has a "kickstart" section and then usually runs off the feedback winding of the transformer. If the output is shorted, not enough voltage builds up on the feedback winding and the circuit shuts down, only to be "waken up" again by the kickstart section. It also works as a crude short circuit protection.

It might not be. If you contact Thrustmaster, they can help. My T500RS died a couple of years ago, it turns out that the power logic board inside died. Thrustmaster were pretty certain what the issue was, and duly sent out a replacement power logic board (about £70), and instructions on how to replace the board. Some soldering may be required, but it was a simple fix, I had never even soldered before, and I managed to do it. However, MY T500RS has died again recently. I had a particularly bad crash in R3E, on the transition from Nurburgring circuit to the Nordschleife, car flipped and everything, and the wheel just went dead. i remembered when I did the soldering a couple of years ago, that I was a little sketchy, so I am hoping that all I will have to do is re-solder a connection and everything is alright. If I cannot, My T500RS had a good five year innings. RIP

my tx broke one time but i had it repaired. i don't know what it was, but i know the first guy i sent it to made it worse, then i sent it to a specialized thurstmaster technician and he fixed it. was expensive :( about as much as i paid for the wheel in france, but since it costs 3 times that much here in brazil it was worth it. i think the original defect was just a usb cable issue. the cable is still bad and fails so i taped a tight loop in it and it stopped not-working.

Mine died after sitting in the closet for more than a year. Took it out and it didn't take long when the wheel started disconnecting all the time. Then the steering wheel stopped powering on. In the end there was no light on the brick. I opened it and tried to go through all the solder points with new (non-ROHS) leaded solder. Got it up ad running for a while but then it died again.

Make a livestream and we will donate to help you get a T500. This also happened to me so I feel your pain. The weird thing is that when it happened to me, I was on GT Sport doing a rally stage just like you. LoL

The problem is only the cable ? You can try to buy a new one and change it (if possible). Or repair it by yourself, by a friend or a professionnal (shouldn't cost much).

Looks like the power supply is shot. It's lost it ability to sustain voltage when plugged in. Hopefully it's just a simple replace the power supply and not something with the board in the wheel.
5 жыл бұрын
It looks more like a short circuit and then the power supply cuts the voltage for protection. That's why it blinks, it tries to give voltage but cuts when something is not right... And so on
@Noruzenchi86
@Noruzenchi86 5 жыл бұрын
seconding dead motor. the LED fading like that is because the wheel is asking for too much power out of the supply, and it drains it fast enough to continually reset the power supply (thus the instant blink on)
