@@lholder1104 well I’m here to tell you that I am 100% normal and cancer free! Keep your chin up, but let yourself be emotional if you need to. It’s all part of the journey. Best of luck

Oh my gosh, our stories are so similar! I just watched this and kept saying “me too.” I felt the worst on days 2/3 and was emotionally DRAINED one of those days. It’s hard adjusting to medication and sucks thinking I have to be on it for good now but glad the cancer is gone. My pathology results came back and luckily mine did not spread... I also have blood work in 6 weeks! Loved watching your video and looking forward to seeing the next one. Let’s be friends!

I’m going in for my ultrasound in five days then a big meeting with an endocrinologist. I’m scared. I’ve had hypothyroidism for over half my life. I’ve had several bad blood work ups that’s why I’m going for the ultrasound . So I guess I’m gonna find out soon what’s up. Glad to have these to watch and learn

When i had my surgeries i literally went in had surgery and after recovery for like an hour was sent home with no pain meds at all but ive had so many other surgeries i didnt need any really so it was whatever but yeah here in the states they get u in and get u out asap!!! I ended up getting a hotel room next to the hospital for 3days just incase anything happened after my surgery both times!! My experience with actually all or most of my surgeries ive had in my life day 3 is usually the worst as far as pain in my experiences!! Im happy ur doing good, i had two lobectomies for my cancer but my left side of my thyroid didnt continue working so about 3wks after my 1st surgery i started feeling like hell so labs came bk saying my left lobe was not working anymore so 2nd surgery happened and it was actually a blessing in disguise cuz they found more cancer in my left lobe of my thyroid which they didnt see on any of my ultrasounds so if my left lobe would of taken over or compensated for the right lobe being gone id still have cancer in my neck and wouldnt know until it got worse or something else happened!!! Anyway im alittle over 2yrs out from my 2nd surgery that happened Nov 5th 2021 and i cant wait til my next follow up in July this yr to see if everything is still looking good and to know if my labs are atill going down cuz of my autoimmune disorders my thyroid antibodies and the thyroidglobulin levels r decreasing slowly but my dr said its still good cuz they are decreasing consistently its just sometimes when u also have/had thyroid autoimmune disorders it can take longer so crossing my fingers and praying my ultrasound comes bk clear again and my labs r down to were they should be!!! Thank u for sharing ur story, everyones journey is different but it still helps to know ur not alone so again thank you ❤ and 🙏🏻 from the states in Wisconsin!!!

Not sure if you are going to be seeing this but I stumbled across your thyroid cancer videos on accident. I'm a 19 year old college student and was recently diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer too. I'm having the surgery tomorrow and this really helps me prepare for what's to come. Thank you!

How do you find it?
@Em-pe8tj2 жыл бұрын
My doctor called and after my ultrasound, says 99% cancer but my tumor was only 1.7 cm which is promising. She doesn’t think it spread. Biopsy scheduled in 2 days. Surgery already scheduled for 3 weeks. Kind of scared.

Maggie did you have to swallow the radioactive capsule to destroy your thyroid before surgery?
@maggiemcdonald18523 жыл бұрын
No I didn’t, I think because my surgeon was fairly confident my cancer hadn’t spread before he went in for surgery. That was confirmed after the removal of it!
