THE ONION !! grilled onion is a staple in northern mexico carne asada culture. we usually wrap it in aluminum foil and grill it for less than an hour i think. we prepare it with green limes and salt, the charcoal grill gives it a better taste, that's for sure. boiling it just makes it lose everything nice about it. hope this helps !!

i absolutely LOVE pomegranate, the best way to cut it in my experience is to slice around the pomegranate vertically. There should be naturally made lines across it and just sort of trace those lines. you want orange slice type shape. cut it open in a big bowl of water and push the seeds out of the peel!

COOKED ONION The cooked whole onions I make are quite different. Can't quite say I have seen many people boil them like that tbh. I take a sweet onion, score it a bit on the top, then season it, brush with a bit of oil, and bake it in the oven at 350F (~175C) until it starts to get golden on the edges. Sweet onions will caramelize better and baking should reserve more onion flavor than boiling! I server mine with a dollop of butter on top and some fresh chopped parsley! 🩷🧅

I loooove Pomegranate seeds in my winter spinach salad, and there's two tricks I use to peel them quick. 1. (least messy) is fill a bowl with cold water, cut the pomegranate in half and put it inside, gently start breaking it apart, you will notice the seeds and skin separating. Seeds will sink, skin will float. 2. take a large bowl, cut the pomegranate in half and face the cut side to the bottom of the bowl. Use a large wooden spoon and tap the bum of the pomegranate. The seeds will fall out, though it is a little more messy than the first option.

Pro Pomegranate peeling tip: roll them on a countertop with a lot of pressure. Like lean on the Pomegranate lol. Cut it in to halves and smack the shell over a bowl with the handle of your knife. Once it stops working, cut the halves into quarters and repeat the process. It won't get 100% of the seeds out but it makes the process way easier

Persian here :) I recommend to cut and peel pomegranate like you would do with an orange. Cut the bottom and the top off, so you can see the departements inside the fruit. cut the fruit from top to bottom in slices. Seeds will come off from these slices easily and you won't waste the juice!!!
@Kesu12310 ай бұрын
You cannot roll it like you would a lemon; that will crush the "pearls," and you'll be left with nothing but tasteless seeds. The point of peeling a pomegranate is to preserve as much juice as possible. Contrary to popular belief, a delicate touch and some patience is needed to correctly peel this fruit, not brute force. For those curious: Cut the crown and stem, then score the peel by making ~1cm slices into the skin and completely score it into 4 or 6 slices. Then break off the slices in half into a deep bowl to avoid splotching on your walls/clothes. I like to tilt the knife side to side to open the grooves up a bit to make it easier to break.

For a pomengranate, cut it in half by scoring it all the way around and then breaking it open. Then over your sink flip the pom over so the seed part is touching your hand, take a spoon and whack it on the back and all the seeds will fall out into your hand. The juice stains countertops and sometimes nails…so if you cut it in quarters , put it in a bowl of water and just pull the seeds out by hand, it will be alot less messy and won’t stain anything. Pomegranate: do shallow cuts/scoring from top to bottom along the bumps (usually 5-6 for the whole thing). Core out the top stem going down maybe 1-2 cm, not deep enough to cut the seeds. Once the top is off, use your thumbe to gently but forcefully pull the wedges apart. This is where I used to stop and just pick the seeds out as I eat them, but now I soak it in ice water for a bit and then whack the seeds out with a wooden spoon.

I'm from Iran and that Lavashak, pomegranate and pomegranate molasses combo is basically street snack here. About getting the pomegranate seeds out, you need to cut the pomegranate in half horizontally (you did it vertically). Then you hold a half in your hand, open part face down with a bowl under it and hit it firmly with the back of a spoon. the seeds just roll out into your hands and into the bowl. you do this till every seed pops out. Sometimes you need to open the half to get all the seeds out by hand but this method gets most of the seeds out.

For the pomegranate: cut it in half, hold it over a bowl with the seeds facing down and just whack it with a spoon. That way the seeds easily fall out and you can enjoy them😊 Watch out for the juice-splatters, though

Lavashak لواشک is an Iranian snack which comes in different flavours but they're all supposed to be sour. Some flavours very sour and some mildly sour depending on its fruit mixes. You can eat it as it is and it'd be better if you let it melt in your mouth and not chew it at all❤❤❤❤ loved your video and the new hair and make-up style❤❤❤❤

here in egypt we have something similar called amar el deen and we use it in Ramadan to make sweets and drinks but most people like eating it as it is and for some reason we never say we do because it's supposed to be used in drinks and sweets lol. it was mostly made out of apricots but now it's made out of every fruit possible and it's very sweet

i loved this video, about the pomegranate the key is to buy a ripe one, i usually pick the softest ones and tbh they’re not that soft but you get the point, and i usually pick the seeds to a big bowl with my fingers this makes a lot less mess!

@theblue357010 ай бұрын
Different flavored Lavashaks usually taste different as well, they are mostly made to be sour snacks but there definitely are some sweet ones like strawberry flavor And they taste better if they're fresh the packaged ones are a bit old and the flavor is not as intense as it should
@lmlaa480810 ай бұрын
6:26 I am your anybody then, cause we eat it time to time. The thing is, we don't cook it in water cause it removes the flavor. We put it in the oven or a microwave, or even airfryer works to. You cook it at 180°-200° C if its oven or airfryer for about 15 minutes (don't worry if it takes an hour or so). But what you have to keep an eye on is whether it is cooked or not, like if its softened and maybe got a little crisp on top. If its in the microwave 800W or higher works too for about 15-20 minutes again. But if you're putting it in to microwave don't forget to stab the onion with knife a couple of places. What is important is to keep the cooked juice of the onion with it, cause it's one of the things that make it delicious. And we don't use sweet onion, instead we use the one that has a sharp taste, the regular onion. Of course don't forget to season it with whatever spice you wanna put on top, after it's cooked, especially salt. I hope it's more to your liking this way 🌻

@MegaPolopolop22 күн бұрын
If anyone is interested, "fruit roll" in Russian sounds like "pastila". It is made like this (for a more correct preparation, you need a detailed recipe): fruits/berries are turned into puree, then the resulting mass is spread in a thin layer on parchment and dried in the oven or dehydrator.

I usually make whole onions in my roasts it helps if you put bullion in it💜 i put a roast in a roasting pan with a lid in the oven and set my oven to 350 degree farenheight with beef bullion (a good amount) or whatever you choose. Then after about 45 mins to and hour once the meat is cooked i add in some whole onions and halved potatoes. After another 20-30 mins i add in some halved carrots and let it cook and boom 💜

16:55 I'm really bad for eating sugar of a night time. It's like as soon as I get ready for bed I need sweet food, I'd sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and eat a whole block of chocolate. When I decided to eat a little healthier and try stop my bed time snacking I switched to fruit, dried fruit, canned fruit, fresh fruit. I still get the sugar but it also has like vitamins and stuff that are better than chocolate or sweets. I now just eat whatever I want, I didn't lose or gain any weight from changing my eating habits and I was sick of pooping so much.

An onion recipe I really liked was just grilling a green onion, not the scallions but the matured version after the scallions that has a big white bulb at the end. It was deliiicious, I think it’s a Hispanic thing to grill it like that, but then u just grab it by the green part and eat the white part which is super soft and flavorful and yummy. Hope u get to try!

I recommend wrapping the onion with foil, add butter in with the onion and pepper. after its been roasted and soft, you can add lime and salt to taste.
