After months of comparisons and researching, the Quad Cortex is looking to be the go to for more extreme metal vs the Fractal stuff..

@@Deathspade66 I also own and love the Fractal FM3 - I've got a video coming soon showing my patches and tones for it!! In my opinion, the sound quality is on par for both units, although I do favour the quad, only reason being, the touch screen and user interface is easier for me to use in a live setting. They both have their pros and cons over each other.

@@cryophilic Right. That's what swayed me over to the QC side; ease of use. My band does live gigs and unless it's a local show in town, hauling my cab alone is a PITFA. It's an oversized custom build that weighs 130lbs. I'm interested in having something like the QC for front of house, and either a pedal baby or powerstage to push a 2x12 to fill out stage volume. We haven't got around to an IEM system yet. Do you have any input on SD power stage vs the Orange pedal baby for this application? My own research and reading has concluded "either one will work fine." while also "this one is better than that one for X reason."... The reason I chose those 2 was mainly cost-to-power/volume ratio.

The ambient tone is amazing. I'd love to know what you did to create that.

@@chaosfoz666 octave effect, lots of reverb, compressor, lots of delay, that's all it is dude.

can you dive into the harmonizer patch? are you using the Octaver to achieve that tone?

@@CorpseChords basically all it is, the pitch shifter added on my main rhythm tone, so you hear the main sound plus 3 steps up, the second one is the same thing but 7 steps up.
