So excited to find your channel! It's really hard to find booktubers who talk about vintage horror books. Gonna have to prioritize some of these as I own quite a few of them and always looking for opinions on vintage horror to find which I should prioritize reading out of the many I own! Great list!

Ahh, Kelsi! Welcome! I've been watching your channel long before I started my own. I feel like I'm brushing elbows with a celebrity! Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed the video!

I am embarrassed by the number of videos I made with no sound and had to refilm.

That honestly makes me feel much better.

I own a handful of these books and I've not read a single one of them; this video made me stoked to read all of them! And yes, Paperback Mania was awesome. I really enjoyed Leon's videos and he was a big source of inspiration for me to start a horror channel. Great list and great video--I'm glad it made it on the 'tube!

Glad to hear it man, that's the hope with these videos! Same! Maybe I'll tag him in this video and see if I can at least drag a comment out of him. And thanks! I was getting it up come hell or high water.

Oh man I'm glad you said my name there because I had fallen asleep during the intro. If it makes you feel better Hide and Read did a video where he said he hated when people used their hands to talk and I was like...but....that's me. Ha! Niederman books are all weird. That guy skipped going to a psychologist and put it all in books. I've read It's Loose and it was awesome. It was bleak AF and from what I remember, no happy ending. Great list. I need to do mine.

Ha! You're a funny man. Yeah I need to read more of his stuff. Give me all the weird. And yes, please do!

Nice! Ancients sounds cool. Being from Canada, I always get a kick out of books with a Canadian setting. A Top YA and middle grade horror would be a good video too. Thumbs up!
@BadTasteBooks3 ай бұрын
Oh cool! I've actually read a number of these old horror books that are set in Canada. And true! I feel like I need to read some more in YA and middle grade before I feel confident making a list for those. But someday!

Thank you for the recs! I read The Store earlier this year, my first Bentley Little novel, I really loved it! Made me think of Amazon and how much it has a chokehold on us today lol. I'm looking forward to checking out "The Living Evil" by Ruby Jean Jensen!

I love The Ignored and The Store by Bentley Little. I've read every novel and short story collection written by him. It would be great to see you talk about your favorite Bentley Little books. I just subscribed to your channel after watching this video as well as the top ten 80's one.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! Great to hear from another Bentley Little fan! He's truly underappreciated in my opinion. Yeah I'm sure I'll get around to that video someday!

@ Woo-hoo! You know I’ve been meaning to try Little for a long time, “The Store” sounds like a really fun place to start. Segue to…, your channel icon (or whatever they’re called) is incredibly eye catching and good. I don’t know why but I felt I needed to say that. 😁
@BadTasteBooks11 күн бұрын
@literallybooks definitely give Little a try! And yeah, The Store is a good starting place. And thanks! A buddy of mine made it for me. I'm an idiot when it comes to stuff like that. haha

I filmed my new video in August but accidentally in 4K. I upgraded my computer to actual “not crash” while rendering it for a month now and finally I said “ugh whatever I’ll just refilm it”Totally understand the frustration 🤣 great list! I’ve slowly been picking up whatever horror I can find out in the wild.

We collect and read books as a hobby; people can't expect us to be tech savvy! But yeah man, I'm looking forward to your next video! And thanks! Yeah, it's getting harder and harder to find these days.

Big fan of Ruby Jean Jensen here. I've read all of her horror and two of her gothics. I would say two to look for are THE RECKONING and WAIT AND SEE. I did like THE LIVING EVIL and would put it up with ANNABELLE and BABY DOLLY as the best of the doll themed novels.
@BadTasteBooksАй бұрын
I love this comment. It's so awesome that you've read most of her work! I actually have The Reckoning, so I will make that my next RJJ read! Thanks for the great info!
