@@chaosincarnate380 I think Dave would be the type of guy to go squire .. he likes a good budget option and seems to understand the diminishing returns concept with paying extra for a guitar in todays market where budget guitars are fricken awesome 👍

I loved this! The biggest surprise was how much you like your Eastcoast LP. I'm also very intrigued to try one, but I have such a special bond with my J&D LP (it being my second guitar, and my first 'proper' guitar) that I'm afraid to buy another Les Paul. I don't want it to be replaced D

If you really love it now, I wouldn't worry. You could get something "better" that costs more and you'll still love it. I have several, and one of my most affordable is my "playing" favorite. Once you've really bonded with one, you've bonded for life. ✌️🇦🇺

Man if I could have just one of your top ten guitars I would be in heaven! Mr white and the red Oswald are my personal favourites + the 62 of coarse. Nearly 5 re frets on mr white is insane, that is just a mega amount of hours on that fretboard. Love your channel and what you do Dave and we have grown to love your guitars as much as you. 🙌

Well his LP cost 200, a classic 60s MIM strat is 5-600 on the used market and the chapman is around 1000 so it's not impossible to get a couple guitars like these. The problem is playing them like Dave does...

You guys today are so lucky with the quality of guitars today. My first two guitars cost me $650 and $1,200 back in the 80s, because anything that would be deemed "affordable" was real crap. I've bought a few recently that are every bit as good as the Gibson I bought back then, but at 20% of the price. Damn GAS. Edit: When I say "you guys" I mean we guys.

Really enjoyed this vid Dave, instruments seem to grow souls, yep I am a sentimental ol git but sometimes you just get a certain feel from certain guitars, almost like they choose you rather than the other way around. Its also very evident that even a low end guitar can be a favourite (I have one myself) TBH a good guitar is just that a good guitar regardless of value or make. Love this channel Dave thanks for making us all smile.

Great rant/story ... Great you got to the Chapman after a while ... happened to me too ... To realize/identify where the problem is and to fix it/i.e. make it really "your guitar" is the way to go ... AND you have to step back and realize: "the idiot is in front of the guitar ..." ... this helps a lot! 🤫🤔 Also some guitars are "not that easy" and take you for a fight and you have to alter yourself a little to get together ... but then it's sheer love! 🥰

Greco EX-800 from 1978 in natural finish with Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups 4. Another partscaster in black with a rosewood fretboard 5. Oh shit, I only have four. Under the nickel/chrome is probably some copper which is used for plating adhesion and under that might be the base material, which is probably some kind of brass if it looks gold coloured. I think the green on the aging is also some copper compound in the paint which starts to turn green. That might happen to those pickup covers as well over time.

It's my Yamaha Pacifica from 1998, my first electric guitar that I got for Christmas that year (I even still have the small amp that I also got, it doesn't work anymore at all, but my cats love it and it looks cool) and the other one is my first acoustic guitar I bought at a legendary store in Cologne in the early 2000's. I think it’s hilarious to see the difference in our tastes has guitarists especially like treble for example you basically put your treble on your amp at zero while I basically crank the treble of my amp to the teeth lol also it’s interesting to hear your opinion on Jazzmasters and why you don’t like them, personally they’re easily my favorite guitar/fender model because they just mold onto you and they sound incredible and have a unique and beautiful sound. Another reason is also the tremolo personally I’m a massive fan of the Jazzmaster tremolo because it’s smoother and you can make it stiff and not wiggle around everywhere. And I know what I’m about to say is sacrilege but I think the Strat tremolo is garbage and just not even close to the quality control of the Jazz/Jag tremolo. But it’s my opinion I guess lol I personally believe the Jazzmaster is the best guitar Leo Fender ever designed in my opinion. Would love to see a full video on why you don’t like Jazzmasters

I have a 2002 Fender Sratocaster 50s reissue made in Mexico i believe is same model as yours but mine is in Dakota red what i really love because is a very difficult color to found , i think this color was used mostly if not on the Fenders custom shop and of course because it sounds amazing .Not my first guitar but is my First Fender guitar ever and also will always be with me 🙂 . I just would love to play at your level , but i have more guitars than i should and that because i love so much guitars 🎸. Right now looking to Yamaha SA50 from 1968 and Yamaha SG45 early 70's , just can't decide each one knowing the SG45 is more difficult to found if i go for the SA50 ! Most people will never understand that guitars are magical instruments and that's why only having one , never will be enough.

Having just acquired a lemon drop just wondering whether you still have yours? Appreciate the gold top is now your top dog but it doesn't do the Greeny out of phase tone. As for the Chapman - spray it spray it spray it.

It is not over when we pass on Dave, Jesus has a body, its different but still a body, the bible in revelation says the elders had harps in heaven itself, if there is harps, then why not guitars when we get there. Then we leave heaven and live on a new earth Rev 20 and 21. And Jam for eternity. How many guitars can you collect in an eternity.
