Thank you for the feedback. How much a brand puts into a release means a lot to me because it can make or break that shoe getting the chance it should to connect with consumers. For example, I think Book does a far better job of marketing his shoe with his hidden giveaway pairs than Nike does for his Book 1.

For me, I feel like there was a lot of GRs that I like more than most collabs especially with New Balance and Salomon. The AE1 Low "Mural" is definitely on my list as well. Not a lot of shoes made me go "woah" like that colorway did when I saw them in person. Maybe I've been living under a rock but I haven't heard of the John Geiger brand until you introduced the brand, but I admit they do look really nice! Love the breakdown as to why each shoe is on your list! In no particular order, 10 of my favorite releases this year are: - Adidas AE1 Low “Mural” and “Nick’s Gift” - Loved the roll-out for the "Nick's Gift" pair as well. I believe they actually had AE's friend "Nick" (who's featured with AE in the commercials) show up before a Wolves's game in Minneapolis to hand out free pairs of the blue "Nick's Gift" AE1 Lows for fans. - Adidas Clot Superstar Dress - Loved the execution and I've been waiting for them ALL year. Just wish it wasn't ~$500 at retail.. LOL. Still love them but decided to pass. - Adidas Clot Gazelle (1st version with the white beads) - The Ls (plural) that hurt me the most this year LOL. Love the execution. - Asics Gel Kayano 14 "Senna 'McLaren'" - Beautiful shoe and an excellent homage to the late F1 driver: Ayrton Senna. Super disappointed that this specific colorway didn't get a US release tho. - Adidas Campus 00s "Japanese Rock Garden" in Burgundy - Saw some in-hand photos and thought they were beautiful from the deep burgundy color to the concentric designs on the sides. - Adidas Samba Wales Bonner Navy Croc - I'm not a Samba guy but these look amazing. - Salomon XT-6 Chromatic - Love the gradient. Sorta reminds me of the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis. Might just reach back for these.. - Salomon XT-4 Needlepoint - I prefer the predominantly black pair but the white pair is really pretty too. Really nice floral design on the upper. - New Balance 1000 Pink (GR pair) - Love the whole pack of this particular GR drop but especially the pink pair. - New Balance 991v2 City Pack but the Tokyo pair in Pink - Also came in a pack but the pink one is definitely THE stand out pair. Now that I think about it, I don't actually own any of the shoes in my list LOL. Mostly focused on decent clothing pieces and reaching back for sneaker releases in years prior that were on sale. I was able to get one of my most anticipated shoes ever since its rumors in a singular Snkrdunk article early in January this year: Adidas Superstar 82 Made in Germany x JJJJound. SUPER boring shoe but I have actually been wearing them quite a bit and bringing that cost per wear down - Organically too. Not because I feel like I have to. I was going to get it regardless of the collaboration because of the upgraded materials (from the leather to the super soft fabric lining) and that it's "Made in Germany" (in air quotes). Maybe I should've put them on my list LOL. My bad, I wrote like an essay LOL. Happy Holidays!

No, no don't apologize at all! I love it, continue to share. I think a lot of people may not know about independent brands which is why I think them being added to end of year lists may open people up to their existence and just how 🔥 they are, a great year of releases. The entire AE 1 experience has been amazing and I love his best friend Nick receiving his own pair and the rollout for fans. You have a really diverse list, I took the Wales Bonner Gazelle on and off my list so many times lol. A few pairs got that treatment. I really love the 991v2 City Pack as well. And don't feel bad at all your pairs weren't added to your collection, I think it should be normalized to celebrate meaningful releases and give them flowers without needing to buy every one of them to validate our appreciation for them.

My personal 2024 SOTY list, only based on pick ups: 1) Saucony x Minted NY Triumph 4 2) Adidas x Wales Bonner Superstar 3) NB x Teddy Santis 990v4 Black/Cream 4) Adidas x Packer Intimidation Low Blue 5) BC3 6) Hoka Summit Tor 2 x Hidden Characters 7) AE1 Iron Sharpens Iron 8) Asics Gel Kayano 14 Birch 9) Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Design By Japan 10) Asics x Woodwood GT-2160 I think these are the only 10 I actually picked up this year. Adidas killed it this year and I never thought I'd by putting a Saucony sneakers at #1 but it happened. I picked up 4 of these on sale too. Patience is a virtue 🙂‍↕️

I didn't say these were the top 10 shoes I purchased, I didn't even buy 10 sneakers in total this year. The AE 1 is still available, the most limited was the JG 004 more than likely of all pairs but I know many people has more access to pairs then they have in the past. There were a lot of Ws for these sneakers, there will always be some Ls. Have a great holiday!

An AE1 isn't a collaboration, nor is the JG 004. My list consisting of many collabs was discussed in the video as well as it's not something I'm a fan of but it's the reality of the pairs in 2024.

According to who? According to you? I think anyone's subjective top 10 list makes sense as they are listing the top 10 drops to them, NOT the top 10 pairs they chose to buy. Nor is there some written requirement you need to own a shoe to think it's a top release LOL

Well I have eyes so I can see how the shoe looks on feet by every single on foot look that is posted online, that I see in person as well. You are assuming that I never actually saw any of these shoes in person from the comment you left, correct? Whatever criteria YOU want to put in place for YOUR top 10, that criteria applies to you, it's not applicable to anyone else's list because you don't control anyone else's perspective on sneakers. Is your list posted online? I would bet people wouldn't agree with your list either, and that's just fine. And from me leaving OFF every single OG retro that almost everyone else has on their list, including me leaving off many other collabs others put on their list, with the comments noting from other viewers this list isn't JUST about hype, I think it's safe to say hype is not the leading criteria for my list. There is an entire independent sneaker on here, what hype is that centered around?
