Shao VS Gargos Connections: -Both are the horned main villains from classic rival fighting game franchises based-around tournaments and killing your opponent. Both are realm conqueroes, who will happily manipulate others and revive other beloved characters from the dead to do so. They both are rivals to warrior monks, traumatising them in specific ways, Kahn killing Kung Lao, and Jago being manipulated for years by the Tiger Spirit, revealing themselves to be Gargos all along). They both have people tasked with preparing the Earth for their arrival, Shang Tsung with the mk tournament and Omen possessing and killing Kis top warriors). They both run their own tournaments. They both gained power by slaying other beings in their realm, Onaga and the Astral Beings. The doors to Earth from both of their realms were opened via them brain-washing another fighter, Sindel and Kan-Ra. They’re both demi-gods depending on Shaos incarnation. They both rule their dimensions with an iron fist, seeking to conquer all others. They are both defeated by a warrior monk. They can both create portals and steal the souls of others, as well as summon minions mid-battle to assist or buff themselves.

As a sf fanboy i really want Akuma to return, it felt like Akuma got bodied the entire fight, when he does something Kahn quickly counters it and when Akuma gets the upper hand it's usually pretty bad (like his awful looking Shoruken) it felt like Akuma was some random jobber instead of a powerful martial artist he is. While I'm indifferent to shao kahn he needs to return too, how can an iconic video game bosses end on a terrible episode

Still watching thru the whole thing rn, very nice ideas! I just found it so clever and funny that in Shrek VS Sulley (around 50:19 ) you can see that Mike’s eye is covered by the logo, a fun little nod to the movies if I remember correctly-

I don’t know if you’re still paying attention to this comment section at this point, but I’m hoping I can get your thoughts on these matchups that I’m pitching. I feel like these have a lot of potential that not enough people are acknowledging. -Grim (Billy & Mandy) vs. Beetlejuice: The tones and aesthetics of these characters’ franchises mesh together perfectly. This would go so hard as a Halloween episode. It takes the best parts of Bill Cipher vs. Discord and Scooby Doo vs. Courage and combines them. I imagine the fight starting with Mandy calling Grim to get Beetlejuice out of her house. What ensues is a wild goose chase where Grim is going through all sorts of iconic locations from both their series trying and failing to catch/kill Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice keeps on getting under Grim’s non-existent skin until he’s had enough and just goes all out. The results I think will be something really funny, awesome and just plain memorable -Azula (Avatar: TLA) vs. Juri Han (Street Fighter): It’s criminal how much people dismiss this matchup even though it would go so hard. They both have very agile fighting styles that clash super well, but Azula has the edge at a distance and Juri is better up close even though they both have options for all ranges. These two are fan favorites who are similar yet different in all the best ways and they have believable reasons for why they would fight each other. You just know that it will be a fight for dominance with these two. I think Azula would view Juri as a beast she needs to tame into a personal foot soldier and would make a couple offers to her through out the fight. She’d try to give off that air of being in control and force Juri into unfavorable positions; her composure is bound to slip more and more as Juri keeps making things tough for her. I know for sure Juri is coming into this just to see if Azula is as tough as the rumors say, but I don’t know how Juri will feel about her as the fight goes on. Will she pity Azula as a kid who clearly wasn’t given a chance t a normal childhood or despise her for serving as a dog for the Fire Lord? I do think she might see a bit of herself in Azula for those same reasons. -Apophis (Egyptian Mythology) vs. Jormungandr (Norse Mythology): If Herc vs. Sun showed us Death Battle’s take on creating a legendary folktale, then this matchup would be the show’s version of a doomsday prophecy. Some will argue that these characters won’t have enough to talk about for analyses. While I agree that they would be on the shorter side, they can still have an interesting talk about what these characters signified within their respective mythologies. One thing that could make this matchup unique is that it can focus on the things going around it as much as the fight itself. Just imagine this fight being introduced by an oracle foretelling the day that Ra ends his daily journey to the underworld to find, for the first time, Apophis isn’t waiting there for him; the seas rise and flood the land signaling Jormungandr is rising from the water, but before Thor can get the fight he’d been aching for, Apophis comes out of nowhere and the real fight begins. Their resulting battle goes spans all across the different realms of Norse mythology and we get some civilian perspective to see how bad the destruction is. I don’t have much more specifics about how it could go. All I can say is that if they do this right, we can have something that is equal parts fight and apocalypse; something that even feels biblical in scale. Cuphead vs. Peacock (Skullgirls): Everybody is always asking for Bendy vs Cuphead, but the DBX already did such a good job that I don’t even think a rematch is necessary. Skullgirls’ art style and music fit much better with Cuphead, anyway, their fighting styles are also a better match with them being “zoners” Plus, I feel like there’s also a much clearer sense of direction for this fight; a shoot ‘em up like from an old gangster movie, but with tons of toonforce shenanigans. And these two little balls of trouble will bring out the full potential of that dynamic. It’s clear that Cuphead’s world has the best options for setting. I think the Devil’s Casino is a natural place for this fight to break out; there it starts as a basic shoot out before it transitions into a getaway chase where Peacock is driving a stolen car and Cuphead is chasing her in his fighter plane. And for the final phase of the fight, I say we take it to the carnival that we’ve seen in both the game and the show. Plenty of great things you could do with all the rides and games there. It would be tempting to have the whole fight take place there if it wasn’t too similar to Harley versus jinx. The last thing I have to say about this fight is that I agree with galactic attorney’s idea for portion of the fight designed to look just like one of Cuphead boss battles; he’s using all his power ups just to survive everything Peacock and her crew are throwing at him while trying to get his own shots in. Seras Victoria (Hellsing) vs. Sypha Belnades (Netflix Castlevania): I will acknowledge that there are more differences between these characters than there are similarities, but I think that’s what makes this matchup fun. Two badass ladies from some of my fav animated adult action series, both of which are known for their over the top violence. Both these characters are in the business of killing vampires, but have polar opposite connections to Dracula. Seras is herself a vampire, is from modern day England, uses her vampiric strength and a massive arsenal of guns, and is very bloodthirsty with how she fights. Sypha is a spellcaster, is from medieval eastern Europe, fights with elemental projectiles and other magic, and is calculated and precise with her attacks. It would be interesting to find which approach comes out on top. Seras doesn’t have millions of souls to spare like her master, so she will have to play things more carefully. I don’t have a lot of specifics for the fight goes. Though, I do have this idea where it opens with Seras on a mission helping transport the Alucard’s coffin, except the one inside being kept in stasis is Sypha; that is, until she wakes up and causes havoc of course. The last thing I wanna see is that even though I’m specifying the version from the Netflix show since she’s my Sypha, I’d be okay with them compositing her with the one from the games for the analysis as long as her characterization follows the show.

Never thought before about Zuko vs Rain, it seems actually like an interesting match up. But let's be honest that's a stomp. I think Iroh vs Bo Rai Cho would work far better. You know, both are martial arts mentors who can produce fire magic, both love to drink and etc. I know you prefer Iroh vs Oogway, but it won't work for me since Iroh hasn't anything even close in scaling to Oogway

I respect the list tbh might be unpopular but I personally prefer Zygarde vs Chaos. It feels like they work better both being protectors who have multiple forms and a perfect form. Plus I can see the scenario starting with base Chaos trying to hunt the Zygarde cell thinking it’s a Chaos emerald with each going into new forms until it’s Perfect Chaos vs Zygarde 100% form. Honestly Endeavor vs Ozai is perfect in all regards, but the scaling man, like, usually I don't care about scaling (hell, my favorite mu is Blackbeard vs Tomura Shigaraki) but in this case Ozai is pathetic against a guy that can become a human laser.
