I love Splodge too because they weren’t villains, they were just anti-heroes, like Spencer. Maybe they died…er, got scrapped between TATMR and season 6, which is why they didn’t return.

Glad to see you put Henry on the list, as he is my favorite. Both his backstory and his Season 1 arc are amazing. I also love how the TV Series expanded upon his character, by showing him as a gentle giant who love nature, and more than just a pompous big engine. Also, I can understand why you'd like Splodge. They, along with Diesel 10, were among the few good things in a mediocre movie. I wish they had appeared again.

I don’t think I have to tell you who my favourite is. Peter Sam is a character I find to have consistently moderate or great episodes through the Classic Era and the Hit Era - The Magic Lamp is an episode with Peter Sam in I watched as a child and I absolutely loved it despite the three strikes nonsense. I also like or love Special Funnel, Trucks, The Refreshment Lady’s Tea Shop, Peter Sam & The Refreshment Lady too 👍🏻

I didn't think I had a favorite, but last year I got nostalgic and am Thomas sensitive, more responsive to him. Caveat: I only like his classic personality. I grew up with the models and watched Season 1-partial 4, so in childhood all I knew was the cheeky little engine, good-hearted and happy as can be on his branch line.

My personal favourite is Duke. But I am an old person at heart, and love interacting with old people. Duke has everything I love in a character, especially his wisdom, and how he uses it to grow other characters. I wish we saw more of him! And for the exact same reason, I love Edward.

I definitely agree with a lot of what you had to say. Henry and Oliver are probably two of my favorite characters in the show, with my favorite Henry episodes being his Season 1 arc, of course, and Henry's Hero. All three of Oliver's introductory episodes are really well done, and I love how they at least did a little more with him in Season 5, with his last major role being Snow Engine in Season 7, an episode that's pretty bad in the US (mainly 'cause of Oliver being "Great Western" being taken too literally by Brandon), but it's an episode that has a pretty good plot overall, and obviously the UK version is my fav musically and in terms of narration. Also, Henry's and Oliver's themes, particularly Oliver's Season 3 theme variants, are just. .mmm. I could listen to them all day long. This video certainly did them justice. Great work, and I can hardly wait for the Q&A!

I personally would have had Arthur higher on the list. I like him for his design, as well as he creates a balance with the other tank engines. Thomas, Percy, Bill, Ben, and to a far smaller extent, even Duck are cheeky jokers. Arthur is very level headed and sensible. I would love to see how he would react to Bill and Ben. As for my favorite characters, I love Percy because he is relatable. See Put Upon Percy for why. Even though he has developed a great deal by that point, and showed himself to be a very determined and hard worker, the others still just view him as an immature joker. This is my life in a nutshell. Only those that directly work alongside me or folks that know me on a personal level will know most/every aspect of my character, and those that don't just see me as a joker. I also love Mighty Mac for relatability, but for different reasons. I have been diagnosed with two completely different mental disorders that can create vastly different reactions to any given situation. This can force my reaction to just be to retreat and take headache medications because it feels like each half of my brain is trying to pull me in a different direction. Mighty Mac is the personification of my mental issues, and I love them for that. I am also a sucker of obscure or one-off designs , and the Fairlie doubles fall right up my alley for that reason. I love Duke, Skarloey, and Edward all for very similar reasons. They all have character qualities that I aspire to emulate (To be clear, I am referring mainly to RWS Skarloey here), They all have undying loyalty to friends and never give up. Edward will get that heavy goods train up the hill even if he is the only one trying. Skarloey will get those passengers home, even if he needs total rebuild after, and Duke will break himself to make sure his friends and family are safe. I love Emily because she reminds me of my older sister. Delegating jobs to get the chores done more efficiently, and making sure the others get along, and comes off as bossy at times for it.

A interesting list, it more unique than some other people thomas lists. Something I'll change is that I'll put Edward in the list because of two reasons, I enjoy how he is portrayed in the classic series of hes wise and old side, and the way he get cross when other engines get into trouble. And the reason I love him so much is that he has the best episodes.

Donald and Douglas are my favourite characters because as you said they are different Donald is the more funny and serious one and Douglas is the more brave and reckless one as shown in escape. I know I'm late but me personally think proteus could have potential as the magical guardian if the skarloey railway. If u think a out it hes basically lady but for the narrow gauge engines. Even though hes a sirhandel re color and kind of a 1 off character theres something about him that's satisfying. If u ask me I would have like to see a magic movie staring the narrow gauge enginea with proteus the magic engine. Heck he and sirhandel could have a back story between them

Top 5 (well 6) in order from best to least 1.Duck 2.James 3.Peter Sam 4.Edward 5. Donald n Douglas I like this characters for different personal reasons. I feel like I relate to Peter Sam and James the most of any two characters, sometimes I am naive and cheerful, others I'm concided, but still doing his work well. In terms of Duck and Edward it's more from a standpoint of how even as fictional characters they inspire me. One line sums up why I aspire to have similar ethics to Duck "what ever the weather, Duck got the job done without fuss". And the scots, well there just cool, idk.

I really think Daisy (the Diesel Railcar) should have been considered for the video. She has a progression arc which no other female character has in the show. She starts as a snooty newcomer assigned to help Thomas on his branch line, focusing too much on herself, but after an awkward confrontation with a bull and being given a good word by Toby, she is prompted to accept assistance and following others' rules. We then leave her going by the TV series, and her major return comes in the form of a surprise reveal promotion to being in charge of her own branch line in the CGI-era. Without losing sight of where Daisy's character stood before completely, the writers tackle her learning to take on responsibility in a way rather different from what she has been used to previously. Over the course of her CGI-era episodes in Seasons 20-21, Daisy comes to terms with giving others fair priority and emerges as a responsible leader character for it. Regards, Samuel Farris.
