I’m currently in the AAPC self paced program and they do give you 12 months to complete both courses (the fundamentals of med prereq. & coding course) if you go the self paced route (no live instructor) 😊

Hi dear, I just came across your comment about NHA exam and I took the training and took that exam back in Dec 2021 and passed. It was much easier than AHIMA or AAPC exams. I googled NHA medical billing and coding specialist questions and prepped with them. NHA did not offer any study guides as far as I remember so getting a study guide or exam prep book from AHIMA or AAPC (cpc exam prep) would help you enormously. You will eventually want to take a more prestigious exam to become a certified medical coder via AHIMA or AAPC. Good luck 😊

@princesssj5091 also when studying focus on the time it takes you to answer questions, because AAPC exam is time based. Once you're comfortable reading and understanding the documentation and abstraction, practice focusing on the tine it takes you to navigate your books for the codes and reading op notes.
