We just bought in The Petroglyphs neighborhood on the west side. Absolutely love it, and the views over the Sandia's, petroglyphs, and the city from our backyard are insane. It's also quiet and safe, with most of the homes having large lots and three car garages.

I thought N ABQ Acres was the place to be, but we found a home in the N Valley and I am so grateful. We have a large lot similar to NAA, but we enjoy city water/sewer, lush landscaping, flat lots. We also have the quiet, agricultural feel that makes you feel like you’re out of the city while only 7 min from a major mall or I-25.

Nice video! What neighborhoods have the fewest cockroaches? I cannot deal!
@AllAboutABQКүн бұрын
Hi @Rikankub, great question! 🪲 It sounds like you're looking for a place with minimal pest problems. Generally, well-maintained neighborhoods with newer construction or higher-end areas tend to have fewer issues with pests. Urban areas can be more challenging due to the density and older buildings. But if you're in a suburban area, try to look for neighborhoods with good sanitation and pest control services. Hope that helps!

Ridgecrest/Parklands Hills has changed a great deal in the last 10 years. A lot of young techies with dogs and no kids are moving in. They are rehabing the homes without changing the character of the 1940’s look, no scraping and building Mc Mansions. Also no HOA which has its pros and cons. And yes, you’re only a few blocks from a park.

@envAmerica Жыл бұрын
What more do you want to know? It sounds like you heard the jist of it, but I'll give you some of my personal insight. There is a lot of poverty, homeless, and criminals in Albuquerque & in New Mexico at large. Of course you can live the good life there as well.. you just need to be strategic and have the dough to do so. Go take a visit. Experience the strong winds blowing litter at you, and the panhandlers at every on and off ramp. The city has a good essence, but like so many other blue states, this area has significant class division, etc.. You'll just need to weigh the pros and cons to see if the Albuquerque area will work for you.
@AllAboutABQ Жыл бұрын
That’s good insight!

Scott there are some parts of town that will see greater incidence of crime and unhoused much like every city. The closer you are to the freeways, the greater likelihood you’ll see trouble. Have you spent much time in ABQ previously?
@travelingshoesguru Жыл бұрын
I love how this now high crime city has groomed it’s inhabitants and those in denial into repeating the mantra “much like every city”. NO. The crime here, per capita, is simply NOT “much like every city” or even every city of this modest size. The crime in ABQ has exponentially expanded since Covid years and the defunding of the Police, and is on par only with Blue cities like Portland and Seattle and California policies that have decimated the police departments while enabling criminals to go free and unhampered. Stores all over ABQ are under private armed security (Target, Walmart, etc. etc.) while the merchandise is all locked up, aisle after aisle. The locals say, “it’s much like any other city.” Sorry you crazy ass people. NO IT IS NOT! Other cities are not living like this! This is not normal! But that’s the narrative, that’s the mantra. “Everyplace is like this.” NO IT IS NOT! We know, because we moved the hell out of Albuquerque. It isn’t like this in most of America. It’s only like this in Democratic run cities who have defunded the police and govern by wokeness. Not to mention the open border flooding Albuquerque and NM with criminals and communicable diseases unchecked. Don’t believe the narrative. There are still some nice areas, but for how long? We’ve visited and see the North Valley and Rio Rancho areas are less crime ridden and the stores aren’t all under lock and key. Who the hell agrees to shop like that anyway? And people in ABQ are still embracing masks and acting like Covid is still in full force. All while allowing their border to be overrun and applauding a perfectly heinous governor. It’s a Darwinian event taking place in Albuquerque as it decays.

@AllAboutABQ4 ай бұрын
Hey @milesdyson5211, great question! Income guidelines for first-time home buyers can vary, and often both individual and joint incomes are considered. Rio Rancho is a fantastic choice with its own unique vibe compared to ABQ. Good luck with your home search!

I hope that you will do a video about the North Campus Area of N. UNM near the UNM Law School and the UNM School of Medicine. That area is gonna be HUGE soon. N. Campus needs more coffee shops and places to hang out. ALSO, our Mayor could use Federal Funds to encourage beautification of our City by using matching funds for planting trees and all kinds of things . Don't laugh, I called the city and begged for trees in the Medians and covered bus stops in 2008 and they took that seriously.....and it happened with a lot of persistence!!!! Wouldn't it be great if they gave matching funds to stucco and beautify property? It costs maybe $10K to stucco a house and the City REALLY COULD use Federal Funds to cover 1/2 of that cost .The Tree issue could be a Water Bill Credit.....you buy the tree and the city gives us a water bill credit! Anyway, thank you for being a proponent of our home City!!!!!!!! Nice work!

Albuquerque is the "Homeless" Capital of New Mexico as we have 2 Interstate Freeways that meet here. I-25 and I-40 bring us all of the amazing drug addicts from all over the US and they sleep in every neighborhood in the City. Next to us is Rio Rancho where they have "rule of law". No "Homeless". The Rio Rancho Police drive all the bums to Albuquerque where they are welcomed as heroes just like in Portland and San Fran.

It’s the everythung capitol of the state except for the actual capitol buildkng 😂 and Rio rancho is no different, they’re policed almost entirely by APD as well. You are misinformed. It’s the Chinese and Mexicans flooding us with fake pills for cheap, with AZ prison gangs working with Abq street gangs. This would be happening whether it was a D or R in office. Stop being delusional and thinking your own shitty side is better than the other shitty side or that it can do anything better. They in fact do it worse, by taking more money away. I’m starting to think you don’t even live here, by the way you talk about Abq and Rio rancho like they’re somehow desperate cities in all but technicality
