I love how you talk about oils! So many people, especially in the Western world in the beauty community, are terrified of oil because to many, "oil" equates to "dirty" which it absolutely does not. So thank you for helping dispel the myth that oil is bad! :) That being said, everyone has different skin, so if you try one oil and have a bad reaction to it, don't think that all oils will do that. For example, jojoba oil doesn't work for me unless I use it to take off my eye makeup (it makes me break out if I use it on my face), but jojoba oil works well for many other people! I know that Garden of Wisdom sells little bundles of oils to try out based off of your skin type and concern, so if you're a little overwhelmed with the amount of oils out there, that's a good place to start. And their oils are relatively inexpensive. :)

Totally, I was told my entire life to avoid oil because I have oily skin, what a mistake! Yes, every oil has different properties and everyone's skin is different, my skin definitely prefers some oils (and amount of use in a week) over others. Natural skincare is all about experimenting for yourself! =]

coconut oil is also great for oil pulling! Oil pulling is when you rinse oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes, then spit it out and brush your teeth really well. It pulls all the toxins out of your mouth and coconut oil is the BEST for this method. It also whitens teeth naturally, but over time of course.

@stephaniesantos78

you can use any oil! I prefer coconut or sesame oil because they taste better. Look up oil pulling on google, there's a huge list of benefits beyond whitening the teeth. It can help with joint pains, acne, redness of the face, and even stomach problems. Your mouth has a lot of bacteria and this is an easy way to get rid of it!

Coconut oil is also really great for oil pulling! You swish about a tbsp of it around your mouth for 10-20 min (don't swallow any!) and it will pull off bacteria from your teeth and mouth! :) Then you just spit it out and rinse really well :).

i have an underactive thyroid which makes my skin dry, scalp dry and my hair feel coarse and nothing I used was helping it at all .. I started using coconut oil about a year ago on my body , then as a leave in conditioner on my scalp and hair and it made major improvements.. I use it for everything now, as a lip balm, lip exfoliator, face and body moisturiser, mix it with brown sugar to make a body exfoliator, for my cuticles etc.. I also recently started using avocado oil as my cleanser and I have to say my skin has never looked better.. I very rarely have to wear foundation now, and I just seem to have this healthy glow all the time... many people have commented on my skin and ive passed on my tips and they to are seeing improvements..im 32 and I definitely feel my skin looks younger, if this is what using oils is doing then im sticking with it... great video

I loved this video! You had me at top 5 oils! I use coconut oil & avocado oil religiously on my hair and sometimes my feet. I make a oil blend for my hair that uses up to 15 oils. I am recently loving grapeseed oil. I also use castor oil in my hair maintenance routine. But my all time most favorite oil is... Peppermint oil! I am very picky too none of that essential oil no I need cold press. I use it on my scalp, on my face, feet, cooking, you can add it to water In a spray bottle and it will get rid of ants. And as an air freshener. I could go on, if you haven't tried please do!

I'd like to share my experience. I've never had skin problems, not even as a teenager, but the whole idea of natural skincare made sense to me and got me very excited, so I tried it, and I couldn't make it work, I had to go visit a dermatologist for the first time in my life because it got out of control and I've never seen anything like that happen to my face, it become very confusing and frustrating to me. So I just want to say, be careful, it may sound beautiful and easy, but it is not. Maybe some people can be lucky and figure it out without experimenting that much and making a mess of it, but unfortunately that didn't happen to me and I know I'm not the only one. So just be careful, take your time, do things slowly and consciously, and try not to confuse your skin that much. Kassie you are a beautiful person and I really love your videos, thank you for sharing so much :)

@SimpleLifeofMJ
@SimpleLifeofMJ 11 жыл бұрын
I agree, hence us saying "moderation" not "do not use" :) I think it's important for break out prone individuals in particular to be vigilant and keep an eye out for *early* signs of any adverse reactions, because a lot of people get them and keep slathering it on multiple times a day without noticing.

Macadamia nut oil is pretty awesome. I lucked out quite tremendously and the Kings Supermarket near me carries almost all of these (even the Nutiva Red Palm). Macadamia spreads out very thinly almost like a serum so it's very versatile I could imagine. Also, having great luck with sweet almond oil. It smoothed out my skin texture almost right away. We have very similar skin I believe so maybe try it out!

Nice video, however theres just one thing I want clear up....Castor oil is made to ingest (take by mouth) As a laxative, which is derived from Castor beans. So it would technically be pure enough to use in skin care regímenes. Also, a really awesome humectant (attracts and protect moisture) is Pure vegetable glycerine..attracts and it's cheap and does not have the drying effect that COCONUT OIL can have from prolonged use.

I put a little bit of coconut oil on my face every night, and it works really great for me. So I think using it everyday is okay. maybe not for everyone...

Hey Cassie :) I was reeeally craving a snack the other day and I opened my cupboard and there was nothing, after 2 minutes I opened again and voila! (you know what I mean). Ok so get some nice piece of bread (rye, wholewheat, spelt etc). toast it, smear it with coconut oil, smear honey on top, tiniest pinch of salt. Enjoy!! So yummy !!!

I just wanted to say Kassie thank you so much for educating us on being careful about the products we use and aiming towards using more organic and natural alternatives!! Because of your inspiration, I'm now switching my products to all natural and organic. Like my makeup, skincare, haircare, err thang! And I'm encouraging all my family and friends to do the same. And I'm only 16 years old. My personal favorite oil is Argan Oil by Joise Maran. You should give it a try! I love your videos and of course you! Thank you for everything you do! It means the world to me and many other people! PS. Your boyfriend is hilarious, I loved your boyfriend tag! XDD

Hey! I just started the oil cleansing method and have been doing it 3 times a week for two weeks now. I also wash with raw honey on days I don't oil cleanse. I've been using avocado oil and I noticed my skin is dry in the morning. Am I doing something wrong? The weather's been on the -10 deg Celsius recently if that helps.

How often do you use avacado oil? I use it almost every night but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.. I love this oil and I'd hate for my skin to become too accustomed to it to where I don't see as great of results.

Hi Kassie, awesome video:) Do you use oils on your lips? I've been looking for a more natural lipbalm because all the ones I've tried just make my lips drier after some time. Thanks:)

Really enjoyed this video! I'm trying to switch to oil cleansing my face instead of using so many chemicals,i was wondering if you have any suggestions on what to use, i have pretty clear skin i just get black heads that i cant get rid of i tried using coconut oil but that was a bad idea, its great around the eyes and forehead but bad by my jose and chin, which is where i get black heads.your help would reallllly really be appreciated!

I'm similar with coconut oil. Oil cleansing has been great in my experience with hazelnut oil and avocado oil, especially with the occasional gentle exfoliation. If you're not entirely comfortable with oils, the blue clay soap by Herbivore Botanicals leaves my face soft and squeaky clean! I don't really get blackheads on my face anymore just because I'm so obsessed with cleansing it with gentle cleansers! I hope this helps

I honestly feel like the best anti-aging tips are to protect your skin (make sure it's always moisturized, protect it from the sun and use gentle products), be happy, and eat healthy!
