I love how you talk about oils! So many people, especially in the Western world in the beauty community, are terrified of oil because to many, "oil" equates to "dirty" which it absolutely does not. So thank you for helping dispel the myth that oil is bad! :) That being said, everyone has different skin, so if you try one oil and have a bad reaction to it, don't think that all oils will do that. For example, jojoba oil doesn't work for me unless I use it to take off my eye makeup (it makes me break out if I use it on my face), but jojoba oil works well for many other people! I know that Garden of Wisdom sells little bundles of oils to try out based off of your skin type and concern, so if you're a little overwhelmed with the amount of oils out there, that's a good place to start. And their oils are relatively inexpensive. :)

Totally, I was told my entire life to avoid oil because I have oily skin, what a mistake! Yes, every oil has different properties and everyone's skin is different, my skin definitely prefers some oils (and amount of use in a week) over others. Natural skincare is all about experimenting for yourself! =]

coconut oil is also great for oil pulling! Oil pulling is when you rinse oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes, then spit it out and brush your teeth really well. It pulls all the toxins out of your mouth and coconut oil is the BEST for this method. It also whitens teeth naturally, but over time of course.
@neecee40110010 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie! Can you do this with olive oil too?
@stephaniesantos7810 жыл бұрын
you can use any oil! I prefer coconut or sesame oil because they taste better. Look up oil pulling on google, there's a huge list of benefits beyond whitening the teeth. It can help with joint pains, acne, redness of the face, and even stomach problems. Your mouth has a lot of bacteria and this is an easy way to get rid of it!

I'd like to share my experience. I've never had skin problems, not even as a teenager, but the whole idea of natural skincare made sense to me and got me very excited, so I tried it, and I couldn't make it work, I had to go visit a dermatologist for the first time in my life because it got out of control and I've never seen anything like that happen to my face, it become very confusing and frustrating to me. So I just want to say, be careful, it may sound beautiful and easy, but it is not. Maybe some people can be lucky and figure it out without experimenting that much and making a mess of it, but unfortunately that didn't happen to me and I know I'm not the only one. So just be careful, take your time, do things slowly and consciously, and try not to confuse your skin that much. Kassie you are a beautiful person and I really love your videos, thank you for sharing so much :)

I am an aromatherapist( BeachesandDreams Aromatherapy on facebook) nature balances . Certain Oils can balance an over productive sebum condition(greasy skin) or a dry one , calm acne or eczema...theyre amazing. You need to do the research for your type of skin as Cassie says and do make sure they are cold pressed or they will not be active so to speak as the heat destroys essential natural ingredients that will benefit you. Cassie definately does her research so follow her example and you will find an oil or combination for your skin. :)

I loved this video! You had me at top 5 oils! I use coconut oil & avocado oil religiously on my hair and sometimes my feet. I make a oil blend for my hair that uses up to 15 oils. I am recently loving grapeseed oil. I also use castor oil in my hair maintenance routine. But my all time most favorite oil is... Peppermint oil! I am very picky too none of that essential oil no I need cold press. I use it on my scalp, on my face, feet, cooking, you can add it to water In a spray bottle and it will get rid of ants. And as an air freshener. I could go on, if you haven't tried please do!
@tamaradodge48657 жыл бұрын
Nice video, however theres just one thing I want clear up....Castor oil is made to ingest (take by mouth) As a laxative, which is derived from Castor beans. So it would technically be pure enough to use in skin care regímenes. Also, a really awesome humectant (attracts and protect moisture) is Pure vegetable glycerine..attracts and it's cheap and does not have the drying effect that COCONUT OIL can have from prolonged use.
@rootsm310 жыл бұрын
Macadamia nut oil is pretty awesome. I lucked out quite tremendously and the Kings Supermarket near me carries almost all of these (even the Nutiva Red Palm). Macadamia spreads out very thinly almost like a serum so it's very versatile I could imagine. Also, having great luck with sweet almond oil. It smoothed out my skin texture almost right away. We have very similar skin I believe so maybe try it out!

i have an underactive thyroid which makes my skin dry, scalp dry and my hair feel coarse and nothing I used was helping it at all .. I started using coconut oil about a year ago on my body , then as a leave in conditioner on my scalp and hair and it made major improvements.. I use it for everything now, as a lip balm, lip exfoliator, face and body moisturiser, mix it with brown sugar to make a body exfoliator, for my cuticles etc.. I also recently started using avocado oil as my cleanser and I have to say my skin has never looked better.. I very rarely have to wear foundation now, and I just seem to have this healthy glow all the time... many people have commented on my skin and ive passed on my tips and they to are seeing improvements..im 32 and I definitely feel my skin looks younger, if this is what using oils is doing then im sticking with it... great video

Okay so about not using too much Coconut oil... In summary: I had accumulated a loooot of toxins over 21 years and got a bunch of allergies because I kept having to use modern medicine, over the past 2 years I've slowly gained more and more of a "healing crisis" as I started using alternative methods. I didn't know I was detoxing so strongly (naturally) until I was forced to research why I was getting soooooooooooooo much acne. I had so much irritation that coconut oil really really helped sooth and cleanse right on through this "healing crisis." So it's not necessarily that it's clogging pores, it's just bringing remaining toxins out, which you might not want to come out the skin way. For me, I just used coconut oil over and over due to it's scar healing and antimicrobial properties. I even found a Naturopathic Doctor that agreed with me and was able to tell my parents what the heck was going on with my face. She told me to use Coconut oil out the wazoo. It's been so soothing and so helpful, but yes, cleansing. In the end, I would rather get the cleansing out of the way than deal with 5 or so zits a week for like 5 years or something. Other than that, I agree with youuuuuuu!!!!!!!

No wonder your skin is glowing! Unfortunately, I don't have access to any of these oils where I live. What are your thoughts on olive oil for skin and hair?

Love this video. I use sweet almond oil as a moisturizer on damp skin, esp in the winter! I was wondering if you use any supplements?

Hey!! I bought the olivado avacado oil a week ago after you mentioned it in a previous video. I don't know if this is a good, but I trust everything you say. I previously have been using coconut oil but now I'm noticing rough patches on the cheeks of my skin... I hope that the avacado oil will perfect my skin. :P its sooo rough and looks dry and splotchy.

I find that if I use coconut oil too often it can dry my skin as well! Avocado oil is very easily absorbed by the skin, which is why I use it every day! Everyone's skin is different, but I hope you love it too

I have acne prone skin and i have been using coconut oil as a makeup remover. Is that a bad idea because you said it can build up. Love watching your videos, I always learn something !:)

Could you maybe do a video on different skincare for different skin types? For example i have very dry skin so im not really sure if the products / oils that you use will work for me aswell. Thanks!

I tried Avocado oil on my face at night as a result of watching your videos..... So. Freaking. Amazing. It is now a permanent part of my skincare regime. Thank you :-)
