The 8100 always puts a smile on my face. I occasionaly have the chance to play one, like twice in a decade, and it's always fun.

It’s crazy too that the helix nukes out in number the amount of bass related things in it vs fractal such as the bass driver DI or various amps such as the acoustic

i really dont get why the digital modeling sleeps on the doom sludge comunity

The fact that line 6 has a model t model and an hm2 now makes me want the helix more when I eventually get an amp modeling unit. I hope fractal ads those Kurt Ballou favorite amps and effects like the ampeg v4 and such. And yeah the bass amp selection is so bad. I hope they model a human gear animato or something one day so us bass players can get our distortion on
@AdamManley78 ай бұрын
I never get why fractal didn’t try to add everything other modelers have considering they go all out on amp and cab list, just gives an opportunity for market competition

I also agree that solid state amps can give something another. That`s why I did VH140C preamp model for Amperium Live :) It`s fun to have instant brutal death metal tone at your disposal.

2:03 without a doubt, that's why i've been screaming for an ADA MP-1 model, to basically archive into eternity. I'll absolutely agree Cliff and the fractal team continue to do great work on updating the ecosystem.

Great takes! One thing i would really like to have in the fractal is an equivalent of the digitech Freqout!

The wireless thing with embedded variable impedance is something I've already thought myself, with the addition of a digital audio output though (spdif, aes or a proprietary connection) to cut down on A/D/A conversions and latency

I just hope sludge and stoner embrace amp modeling😂..oh man thats gonna be a a battle Whats weird is helix has cathered to the stoner crowd. Sunn model t, op amp rat pedal, swedish pedal, russian fuzz, triangle fuzz(my fav) thats alll in helix. Imagine how good axe fx could do it though?! They would have to make it sound better than the helix models, which sound goood believe me. Most of it is recent update stuff. Anyway im excited for dual amping sunn model T, and thunderverb orange together in the fm9 ...someday

+1 on the request for solid state amp models. They already have the JC120, so we know that it is possible. It would be awesome to have a Gibson Lab Series L5 for those early Ty Tabor tones.
@AdamManley78 ай бұрын
I heard that they never added the HM-2 fuzz because the owner bias decided it juts sounded bad which I gotta admit is the most terrible reasoning imaginable for not adding another basic iconic drive pedal

Doubler: Fractal audio preset #82 Petrucci Rig, Cooper Carter is using the pitch block (dual Detune) and some modifiers to get a nice doubling effect.
@AdamMGuitar8 ай бұрын
It's more of a widening effect, rather than an actual doubler. Doesn't get you the same effect as mimiq. I have a short comparison vid on my channel - actual double tracking vs mimiq vs axe-fx "tricks" (shameless plug, sorry).

Honestly: my sole wish would be a smaller unit (provided they will implement some profiling/modeling as they seem to be practically forced by the market to do so). I consider 1U unrealistic, but 2U should be doable.
@loydthabartender57948 ай бұрын
Univibes. You can tweak the phaser or the rotary to work but I find it easier to just plug in an actual vibe pedal
@2084148 ай бұрын
Cooper Carter put toghether a clone of the TC Mimiq using the pitch block and modifying the parameters in real time with the internal modifiers. I believe it is in his most recent iterations of the Petrucci presets if you want to check it out.
@AdamMGuitar8 ай бұрын
It doesn't work, not like the mimiq at least. The problem with all the pitch/delay/enhancer tricks is that they widen the sound, but don't get you near the double tracking feel, because the center of the stereo image is still very present. I have a quick comparison vid on my channel (shameless plug, sorry).
@2084148 ай бұрын
@@AdamMGuitar I've never tried the Mimiq pedal, so I can't say whether Cooper's version sounds similar. I'll check out your video.

Does the Axe FX not have amy solid state amps? I guess I never went and looked. A lot of great bass heads are a valve pre into a solid state power section and I'd love to have those options in such a high featured rack unit

Considering Line 6 sell the Pod Go with a wireless kit, albeit not as sophisticated as the one you suggest, it's honestly a little embarrassing that Fractal (and Kemper, to be fair) don't offer something similar, even if it was only offered with the top of the range units. YES PLEASE SOLID STATE AMPS. I don't care how cork sniffery people can be about all toob everything, some of the best guitar tones have come from solid state amps, and those deserve to be modeled even if it means not modeling all 464 trillion variations of the 2203 circuit. BB King used a solid state amp near exclusively (Lab Series L5), The Beatles used solid state amps live once fans were screaming louder than AC30s (Vox Conqueror), Def Leopard recorded Hysteria with a solid state headphone amp (Rockman), and of course, there's Dimebag and his Randalls, just to name a few. Paying no mind to these tones because of the way they were achieved is a dick move at this point

Idk man, I think the Pod Go and the Fractal stuff are in two entirely different tiers of hardware. And at the high end, customers aren't really looking for "value-adds" like you're more likely to see in the lower end stuff. I don't think there are many AxeFX customers that are upset their unit didn't come with a mediocre 2.4GHz wireless system.
@RubyRoks8 ай бұрын
@@ahriik The obvious solution there is to not bundle the AxeFX with a mediocre 2.4GHz system and use something more along the lines of what Ryan proposed. If Apple's taught us anything, it's that people love a well thought out ecosystem of products.
