Hi! Just to be sure: Some profiles changed names since they came out, so the name on my Kemper can be a little different. I listed them in the description along with the new name and where to find them. Cheers!

Chaotic Neutral Forgive my ignorance, but what is asmr?
@chaoticneutral10906 жыл бұрын
kommi1974 Autonomous sensory meridian response(ASMR) is an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia. ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.

I just purchased a Kemper this week, still getting to grips with it, but it’s so good!! I’m running the powered unit through an Orange closed back 1x12 cab. Sounds amazing, a lot better than the FRFR setup I tried previously. Like playing a real amp, and also downloaded M.Britt D pack profiles with all the dumble stuff. It’s an amazing amp pack, especially the dumble voices for John Mayers amp clean!

I recommend you: tone junkie match chief (matchless), tone Junkie lowman 69 (bassman), Bert mertjenulik (I problably spelled wrong) Friedman be-100, and for heavy things STL tones Lee Malia. This helps me a lot! No A/B comparison, but just juicy tones. And of course there’s nothing that compares to an amp in a room but recording and a lot of live things I do are just an amp mic’d up and blasting through my in-ear monitors. Maybe I should invest in making the switch to kemper🙈
@kareemmonzer78946 жыл бұрын
I think that for many of us that just like to play at home, the "experience in the room" criteria that you mentioned at the beginning of the video factors in quite a lot as to why we buy tube amps and build pedalboards. Sure, the Kemper accomplishes great tone through recording. But when I'm in my room, with my tube amp cranked and my pedalboard on the floor, for a brief couple of hours during my week, I'm a fucking rockstar!

Love the tones and your playing is great! I'm tired of lugging around a heavy amp, pedalboard, mic stand, etc. I'm considering selling them all and just going Kemper and Remote. I did that before with the Line 6 HD500X and regretted it - the tone just wasn't there live, even if it sounded fantastic in my house. Do you use it live, and does it sound great with a band in a performance situation? Thanks!

I think you left the room mic on while demoing the presets? I personally like a bit of direct miked picking attack in the mix but while demoing a piece of gear it masks the gear sound and in this video it's a lot in the mix.

Hi Paul. Another great video. The tones are so convincing. Does the Kemper feel as dynamic to play as a tube amp?
@RudyAyoub6 жыл бұрын
Gary Gamble i never tried one, but heard both sides saying nothing will ever feel like a tube amp and some people straight up glorifying it lol
@johanneschristopherstahle33956 жыл бұрын
I don't have a Kemper, but in general I think we've come to a point where digital modelling is able to recreate the feel and dynamics of tube amplifiers.
@garygamble19636 жыл бұрын
Rudy Ayoub Thanks for the insight Rudy. With tube amps, as you know, they generally have that "feel" that responds to picking dynamics and the amps themselves are the original producers of the tone that the Kemper seeks to emulate. My concern is that it is nothing more than an upmarket modelling amp. I've owned one modelling amp (out of curiosity for the breed). It had some decent sounds but it lacked any real feel at all, was uninspiring to play and was ungiggable for many reasons. At the present time, I am concerned about spending a bucket load of dollars/pounds/euros/yuan/beaver pelts (whatever your local currency is) on what is an advanced modelling amp without having the opportunity to try the Kemper out first and also determining if it is easy and intuitive to use. Certainly, I'm loath to switch to an amp that doesn't have the wondrous little glowing bottles of loveliness that we expect in our backlines. I'll stay old school for now!
@johanneschristopherstahle33956 жыл бұрын
Gary Gamble I've got a VOX ToneLab SE. It really feels nice and natural to me. They use a tube, but I guess the fact that they simulated the dynamics between the amp and the speakers is more important.
@mdeerocks67926 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. I had many modelling amps and it was always like playing a guitar synth. All software plugins have this feel (or lack of thereof) too. Kemper feels like amp. What is weird that you can get cranked up tones/feel at really low volumes - it takes a couple of days to get used to - or plug it into guitar cab and crank it up, there is virtually no difference between Kemper and profiled amp in most cases :)

i once got the pleasure to play a vox ac30 in a big room with a drummer so loudness was no problem.. i didn't know my guitar could sound that amazing ^^ but yea, not that well suited for a small apartment.. great video
@passerbycmc6 жыл бұрын
problem i have, i got a ac30, and i can achieve a very similar tone to that with my tele, and can get really nice dark lead tone out of it with my es335. But i can only use it in a practice space, since the powerup needs to be cranked for that. Right now i use a fender blues jr at home, which can get the good tone of a poweramp breaking up without out my neighbors thinking im really obnoxious. I am really curious about emulated amps weather it be a head like this one, or just running it in pro tools.

Nice. You run stereo outs into the audio card? I've run it that way before, but use SPDIF out to keep it digital all the way to Pro Tools. Is there an upside to using the stereo out? Is it to get around the 44.1khz limit?
@scott370406 жыл бұрын
You're right! That last profile makes me want to buy the Kemper right now! My signal goes straight from my pedals to a direct box and then the sound board. No amp. I'm not happy. Will the Kemper will simulate an amp!
@INNERPR1SM3 жыл бұрын
Nice playing and great review but no-one ever talks about the buzz. Theres a lot of 60 cycle hum on some of those tones. Doent matter how good your tone is when thats layering in the background. One of the reasons why I'm getting rid of the helix floor. I hated it right out of the box. Clean sounds are nice but the distortions are terrible for noise unless im using emg pickups but even so the gate chokes the life out of my solo sounds. I heard of a few people going back to kemper for its responsiveness. I hope when mine comes in I dont have the same problems. As a recording engineer Im picky right out of the gate. Thanks for the video!
@Smaul0026 жыл бұрын
Might be a dumb question but what exactly is a kemper amp profile? Is it only for recording or is it like a regular amp? Are the sounds artificial like a line 6 spider series or do they play off of the material that your guitar is built from?
@thepanman85 жыл бұрын
