@@angelomerz_2 How? It has Battery, Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (the outro of which is thrash), Leper Messiah (the outro of which is also the thrash), Disposable Heroes and Damage, Inc! Sure, The Thing That Should Not Be is a bit more on the ‘slow and heavy’ side, and Orion is a bit more on the proggy side, but the album is mostly comprised of thrash songs. It is heavily compromised of fast tempos, powerful riffs, fast solos, and anti war/establishment themes, which are all key elements of thrash metal.

I mean it is a great way to finish out the album...but I would say there are a number of solos and sections on just the Scenes from a Memory album that have even more interesting phrasings. The solo from Home, the 5/4 guitar part leading to the pseudo ragtime/swing piano part in The Dance of Eternity...the very soulful playing in The Spirit Carries On. Like I appreciate the outro solo to Octivarium still because it was a great release from the previous tension built up in parts 3 and 4 of the song, and does encapsulate the intended feel of the Razor's edge section of the song...but in terms of raw emotion, technicality, or phrasing there are definitely better Petrucci solos to choose from imo.
