Here's my long-awaited top 5 rant on Mattel! It's my angriest video ever (even more so than my first Thomas Wood rant as well as my first rant on All Engines Go)! I hope you enjoy!
Also, I want to warn you all that this video is NOT for kids due to some bad language and angry moments that may not be suitable for sensitive viewers. So, don't watch this video if you can't take any of that.
In addition, this video is NOT meant to be an attack on EVERYBODY at Mattel, just mostly the higher-ups and representatives at Mattel. And no, this is NOT satire! Anyone who calls this video satire is a complete and utter moron!!!

Since late 2017, Mattel has been guilty of the following atrocities: 1. Pulling the TV show from PBS, where not once, but twice it had a comfortable home (Yes, I'm counting the Shining Time Station spin-off, since it introduced Thomas to North American audiences). 2. Decreasing the quality of Thomas' merchandise lines (most especially replacing the long-running and beloved Thomas Wooden Railway line with the vastly inferior Thomas Wood line from late 2017 to mid-2021). 3. Pulling Edward and Henry, two characters who have been with the franchise since the beginning (the first Railway Series book, no less) from the Steam Team in favor of newcomers Nia and Rebecca. 4. Making DVD releases more scarce. 5. The All Engines Go! spin-off, which is far more cartoony and less grounded in realism than the Rev. W. Awdry's vision, proving what he said in 1976, "Once the Americans get a hold of it, the whole series will be vulgarized and ruined" true. 6. Deliberately going against the wishes of Britt Allcroft. In a Facebook post following the AEG! spin-off, she said that what Mattel is doing is hurting Thomas and that she wants them to keep the spirit of the classic series alive for future generations instead of trying to pretend it doesn't exist. Mattel obviously had no such interest in doing so, so the fans had to do it for them by making amazing custom airings in the style of the PBS television show, with the former's wraparounds and episodes from the classic series. Unfortunately, Mattel started blocking those airings out of spite. 7. Disassociating themselves with the Autism community, the very community that watches their show and buys their merchandise. I feel that Mattel is deliberately trying to send Thomas to the scrapyard, and that the franchise can only improve if another company acquires the rights. I even started a petition to get Orbrium, a leading wooden railway system that I jumped ship to after Thomas Wood replaced Thomas Wooden Railway, to acquire the rights to make Thomas Wooden Railway trains because they make their products specifically with Thomas Wooden Railway in mind despite not having the Thomas license as of this time.

As an autistic person myself, I was heartbroken to the point where I nearly dropped Thomas from my life entirely. I use this show as a mental tool (AEG specifically, the way it's written is actually more relatable and in a way I can understand) I ended up not going along with this as not only was this from 2017, but I have a lot to owe back to them. I don't know where in life I'd be without some of the episodes of AEG, most of my problems I've actually been able to solve thanks to the show.... that probably makes me in the foolish side if I'm still supporting them...

I started losing interest in Mattel and collecting their Thomas products and moved on to their Jurassic World range. But after hearing what Mattel did to the Autism Community, I wasn't really very angry, but I was *heartbroken* from their statements. 😥I can't believe what Mattel did just offended an entire group of people. 😡 🙏Hopefully Hasbro buys Thomas, and that Jurassic World Hammond Collection Parasaurolophus will maybe be the last thing I might collect from their stocks.

If Mattel goes bankrupt, the following companies will get their brands: Hasbro (Mattel's entertainment properties, such as Thomas & Friends) Basic Fun (Hot Wheels) MGA Entertainment (Barbie) Spin Master (Mattel's games, such as Uno) Playmates (Masters of the Universe and Monster High) Moose (Polly Pocket and Matchbox) Fisher-Price, American Girl, and Mega Brands become independent companies (meaning that toys such as Power Wheels, Little People, Imaginext, and Mega Bloks are no longer Mattel toys).

Mattel disassociating from the autism community… Did you know that there’s a lot of articles out there about why Thomas and friends appeal to autistic kids because of its clear facial expression and simple story line and that a study found that autistic children have a strong relationship with the character of Thomas? Also the autism community is known to have a fascination with trains (myself included) You see the problem here?

The number one spot is something I fully agree on the most. To not cater to the Autistic community makes my blood boil. Thomas felt like an escape route from the real world; a world full of noise, crowds, chaos, stress, everything. So seeing what Mattel did is just appalling. Side note: I do indeed hope that Marc Forster's Thomas movie (Thomas & Friends: The Movie) would be as promising as it sounds. That and it wouldn't suffer developmental hell/cancellation like The Adventures of Thomas or production hell like Thomas and the Magic Railroad.

Theo was actually my favourite Thomas character introduced in JBS. It makes me sad that Mattel doesn’t want Thomas associated with autistic kids anymore, as someone who had autism, I loved TTTE as a kid, I even had this wind up Thomas toy which was by Tomy which I had since 2009. #ToHellWithMattel

I agree with everything you shared on Mattel. I started to dramatically hate Mattel once BWBA came into the picture. While they did do well with the show from 2013 to 2017 and some toys I was starting to drift out of T&F as a whole during that time period. Shockingly around the same time season 21 and journey beyond Sodor came out in the fall of 2017, I started to feel like the show had gone on long enough and should end just months before BWBA became a reality. Now as an adult I really hate knowing that because of Mattel, they ruined a piece of my childhood! I still love the show, but when it comes to the era, I prefer the way the show was til season 21/the year 2017. After that from seasons 22-24 and that AEG reboot, it's all crap, with only a few good ones in the final cgi seasons. I really hope whatever comes for Mattel in the future, they'll either go bankrupt which is a bit slim if you ask me or they simply sell the rights of Thomas to a company that cares and does what the fans want! While it is just a kid's show that was made all thanks to Britt Allcroft nearly 4 decades ago, not only did this show change my life, it was the birth of my love for trains as a whole, and how I've managed to connect with people those both young and old in the train community. Whatever happens, I'll continue to stick with the Thomas era I enjoyed most and be glad there many are fans out there who feel the same way as I feel during this current time we live in with Mattel ruining what was once a great franchise and legacy created by Wilbert Awdry nearly 8 decades ago. In the end, #ToHellwithMattel!

Mattel truly ruined the Thomas & Friends franchise. Hit Entertainment ruined the writing and characters in the episodes, but atleast when they owned Thomas & Friends the show was doing well. It’s extremely hard to watch the episodes now which is so frustrating, and I think that’s why fans look to KZbin to watch the movies & seasons. Mattel does legally own the show however, and they bought Hit Entertainment fair & square whether we like it or not. I’m glad they fixed the writing and characters in the show, but as soon as they got the Thomas license they cut costs on Trackmaster and Take N Play, two toy lines that they were doing just fine with before they bought the show rights. Mattel thinks that by cutting costs and adding gimmicks and wacky things to the show they’re making it better, but it’s obvious that they’re just making things worse for the Thomas brand as it’s now hard to watch the episodes, the merchandise is harder to find in stores, and Thomas & Friends is simply not a big thing anymore. It’s pretty clear Mattel has basically given up on the show, with All Engines Go now being the original series' replacement. I try to keep up with the All Engines Go episodes and they’re are some half decent ones every 50 or so episodes and I like Bruno and I’m glad they’re bringing back Toby & Salty, but the stories are so childish and on it’s own isn’t anything special which is one of the worst things a Thomas era can be. Unfortunately it seems like Mattel’s marketing for Bruno being Autistic was just a big marketing stunt seeing the news of Mattel’s lawsuit, and it’s a shame because I actually like Bruno’s calm and quiet personality compared to the wacky and silly stuff the other All Engines Go characters do and their decision to not support Autism in Day Out with Thomas was just wrong in every way. I don’t want the fandom to boycott Mattel as they’re just a company that wants to make money through the properties that they own, but it’s a shame they’re putting the money before the fans of their properties. Sorry for the long comment 😅

In all honesty, I am very confused on why Mattel at this time didn’t go bankrupt. How in the living heck did they not go bankrupt this spring, they are literally ruining not only every and all franchises they own, but the things children love about them, and themselves. As someone who has Arsepergers, the thing what Mattel said upsets me. Alot. Also this is just my Opinion I do like AEG because I always dreamed of Thomas and his Freinds being cuter. But it's not the cast of AEG Fault at all it's the Company to blame that are doing this. If it were a different company I'm sure then it'll be Different.

I agree. It's not the voice actors' fault that the reboot exists. I'm sure they like the franchise just as much as us and just wanted to have fun. Heck, I once asked Rick Suvalle if Meesha Contreras (the Canadian voice of AEG Thomas) saw the original series, and he said that he did. Basically, any sign of hatred against the child voice actors reminds me of that stupid "you're not a true fan" argument and the times where toxic Thomas fans bullied the innocent younger fans for no reason!

I think that NBCUniversal should buy the Thomas franchise because then they would re-remaster all the model seasons in high definition, stream all 24 seasons and the songs on Peacock, make even more dvds of the show, and license the original series to Cartoon Network to introduce kids to the franchise instead of "All Engines Go!" However, if they're gonna show Seasons 1-5(and the first 7 episodes of Season 6)on Peacock and Cartoon Network, they should keep them in their original 4:3 aspect ratio to avoid the same problem as The Simpsons on FXX and Freeform. And the Hit era episodes should keep their original 60fps frame rate on Peacock, because you know how old tv shows that were videotaped tend to have their frame rates cut in half on streaming services.

I think all engines go works a lot better as a spin off than a reboot, with the main thomas, Percy, Rosie, Nia, Rebecca, Diesel and mavis, Kenji and OS style Kana, OS style Bruno and Creative peter and original series style Sandy and madge being the parents of the all engine counterparts (their adoptive children).

You do have a Good Point. They also ruined HIT’s Other Properties like Pingu and Bob the Builder. But I agree that Thomas is the Most Damage that Mattel did to. I would say Mattel is the Worst Corporation in Natural Living Existence, But there were Two Corporations that made a Merger in 2022, and kept removing almost literally everything out of existence ever since, and that is None Other than Warner Bros. Discovery! Even though Mattel ain’t my least favorite, It is definitely the most Racist, Ridiculous, and Nonsensical Corporation i’ve ever seen out there. And it’s kinda sad. I was actually thinking removing every single reference from Every Mattel Property from my Channel and my Life because of it, and stick with shows that are like it like Roary the Racing Car (in which i really, really Hope that Mattel never ever buys out it!). The Thomas & Friends Franchise has been a Stable of my Channel ever since the Start of it back in 2017, alongside Object Shows, and still appears in my videos today (even though 2018 and 2022 were the Years where there weren’t much of it). They are also the Reason why Sprout got from Bad to Worse and now Lost Media now that i realize it, Getting Rid of Dragon Tales already put a Giant Hole in the Channel, But Mattel had to sell Sprout off, and made it even worse than before, and because of it, Sprout had to stop airing most of that in 2015, and shut down in 2017! Mattel buying HIT was definitely the Worst Decision that They’ve EVER Made, and now their Previous Owned Properties are Ruined. I do agree that Mattel should lose in the Court Case, and i really hope Mattel goes Bankrupt as well!

Also CGI Fireman Sam sucks. Also. The last time. Netflix is apart of this because they're doing bad jobs like cancelling projects, not to mention that they cancelled Inside Job, getting a new Pokemon series which is stop motion like Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Postman Sam etc whether they're British or from a different country, destroy franchises etc.,.. They're evil like Warner Bros. Discovery removing Cartoon Network shows from HBO Max and Mattel ruining the Thomas franchise. I cannot believe this is happening in 2023.

They could've done the same with Nia, but instead openly made her a boring stereotype. That to me is an example of ARTIFICIAL wokeness. As in, uncultured white guys in suites who don't know anything about how to properly portray non white minorities in a meaningful way. If you want an example of wokeness in kids media that is done tastefully, I HIGHLY recommend Disney's "The Owl House".
