I've had other BPM baits kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!

Debo, Thanks for the sound advice. I like that you are not promoting expensive baits and offering affordable alternatives. I also appreciate the practical advice to invest in a reel with a metal body. I have made the mistake of buying spinning reels that were cheap. I felt it was a waste of money to buy good ones. Several reels later I realized the benefit of investing in a decent reel. I purchased a Shimano Sahara @ 25 years ago and did not need to buy another until a couple of years ago when the roller on the bail wore a groove in it, so old it could not be replaced. Other than the worn roller it works as good as the day I purchased it. So when I got back into baitcasters I bought decent reels all with metal frames and happy I did so. You do not have to spend a lot to get a metal frame. A decent rod is also a good investment. I am a bank guy and this week pulled out my best rod and reel combo and was amazed at how much different they work compared to my other combo’s. Love the look of the Scorpion reel. I would buy one just for the color alone. They are outstanding reels according to all the reviews I have seen. Do you have the DC version or the MGL?
@DEBOSFishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Agreed, it definitely pays to get something like that for it to last. You can use the less expensive reels for techniques that are less taxing on gear. I have the MGL scorpion and I like it.

I would just like to thank you for your channel. Being from PA I’ve always been a trout guy because all I’ve ever had access to was small streams. I went bass fishing for the first time on Monday and used a Texas rig senko with an 1/8thoz bullet weight on my spinning gear using 6lb mono and caught 5 largemouth from the bank in the 1st hour and my kids caught a few on their 5’ ultralight gear. All about a pound or so. Yesterday we took out a boat and were throwing the same rigs toward the bank with no luck, I went in the other side of the boat and threw towards the middle of the lake and the 2nd cast I hooked one. I told my kids we have been doing it wrong and my 12 year old throws his right to the same spot and hooked at least a 5lber. I seriously thought his rod would snap in half. Got it to the boat and just as I reached down to grab it he snapped the line. A pic would have been nice, but his excitement and laughter through the entire fight was better than any pic I could have taken. I’m now shopping for dedicated bass gear, but it’s nice to know I don’t need $600 rigs to land big fish...just a little stronger line

Professor Debo with another great class! It’s really cool how you breakdown lures you like to use in a dedicated video. Hope you start crushing the summer bass fishing!!

Great video! That said, I gotta ask. What are the best lures for overfished ponds? I always see people say to just use what other people aren't using, but I have no way to see what they're using!

got back a few days ago from NH and used a 1/8oz jig head and threaded on a 7 inch ribbon tailed worm on it like a soft plastic keitek boot tail and did amazing this way for smallies. and then would do that with any from 6-8inch and treats the rig like a Texas rig but with jig head.

Love the stick bait suggestions. The BPS Stik-O is a great choice. Cheap and works. Don’t underestimate the power of downsizing to a 4” stickbait with a smaller 2/0 or 3/0 straight shank or EWG hook.

I honestly don't drop down to them enough. I like it on a wacky rig...just dont think about it a lot. I need to take the wacky out soon!

2 old school baits that I still use quite often are Mann's Stingray Grub and the Charlie Brewer Slider Worm.
