My favorite of all time is Zuko from Avatar the last airbender, loved and related to him ever since I saw the show when I was 6 or 7 and I'm 22 now. His character has helped me out a lot in real life that it's crazy, I know everybody loves him and his amazing arc, but you know that you've had a pretty fucked up life when you relate to him at such a young age.

Zuko was also my favorite character for a very long time (ever since I was 6). His redemption arc is simply a beautiful sight and warms my heart every time I watch the series. Now he is second only to Musashi from Vagabond, who IMO is the greatest character ever created. Both characters helped me a lot and received the most remarkable development I’ve ever seen :)

But there's really not so much remarkable feale characters in anime/manga. The only one that comes to my mind at the moment can be compete with so many amazingly written characters like Bondrewd, Grimmer, Johan Meruem is Makina. After mentioning Meruem i think that also Pitou from HxH is great character, but is overshadowed by Meruem.

Even in the mangas he mentioned, i think Brunhilde is by far the best charcter in Shuumatsu no Valkirye, even just for the emotional range she shown. My absolute favourite character in weeb media is Watashi from Jinrui wa Suitai Shimaishita, but at this point few people remember the anime and the Novel will never be translated because it's written in "Dante must die" diffucult japanese. Female charcters are not as impressive if you mostly read shonens. Outside of the obvious genres aimed at girls and women, most of the best characters in VNs and related media are women. As are some LNs. I even't tried to make a top 50, but i would be surprised if it won't have at least 15-20 female characters.

SAO came out in 2012, literally a decade ago. Berserk came in 2016. Guts is just a carbon copy of Kirito, it's really not that hard see. SAO was rated the best show back when it came out, blew everything else away. It's an instant classic, which was the first to create the isekai genre. Best most popular genre there is within anime. Berserk can thank SAO, for being even slightly successful. Not only is Kirito a better character than Guts, but Kayaba is also a better villain than Groffith or however you spell his stupid name.

The great thing for me about magi and Sinbad is that like you said he’s completely stealing the show and overshadowing the other characters and makes you forget he’s not the protagonist. But that’s not because the other characters are bad and Aladdin is actually imo a really great protagonist too, it’s just that sinbad is just so much better ^^

And Urumi Kanzaki, while I was reading GTO I felt more attached to her and now she's one of my favs. Is a pitty that in shonan 14 days and paradise lost she only had a cameo
